  1. I for-for-forgot my bag...
  2. The Yo-Yo won't be above the water anymore? Very surprising and daring move on their part! I can imagine that a zipline out onto the old Yo-Yo pier would be exciting, but it's a shame they couldn't build a new pier for the ride.
  3. Can't wait to see all the footage you shoot! Is there any chance you'll be filming other coasters too? I'm sure Kvasten and Jetline each provide an interesting new ride experience thanks to the Twister being shoehorned in and around them.
  4. No leads yet on the first four digits? I've looked all over the web (even that website which shall go unnamed) but no luck... Assuming the Tilt-A-Whirl is indeed moved and not removed, the Lightning Racer overflow queue area seems like a perfect fit.
  5. I can say with 100% certainty that this concept is among the most disturbing and creepy I've ever seen.
  6. Might as well add my pics of the new train:
  7. I was at the park today, and Sidewinder was open. The new train was rather comfortable, but I must admit it was my first Boomerang, so I couldn't really tell you how it compared to the old train.
  8. It says "_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 2 0 3 7". Whatever RIT is up to, it's awesome that Robb and TPR have gotten involved in this! By the way, the spaces are supposed to be divided into three sets of four, but I can't get my post to do it for some reason.
  9. Could be wishful thinking on my part, but under "Materials & Design" on the research page, a statistic of 98% comes up. Great Bear was built in 1998, so this could also be another pointer to B&M. Likewise, it mentions 'lightweight materials' and 'high-strength structures', which describes some of GB's crazy supports. Or I could be looking into it WAY too much.
  10. Dutch Wonderland has posted a teaser album on their Facebook page showing what looks to be a Zamperla Kite Flyer as a new ride for 2011. That's apparently not all, as they have commented on the album saying there will be two new rides.
  11. I've read that normally, crowds can be horrendous during Springtime in the Park...what should I expect if I visit on Good Friday?
  12. ^Ditto! These are some of the most awesome-looking trains I've seen. I REALLY need to figure out a way to get down to Tampa this summer!
  13. I, for one, welcome our new computer overlords.
  14. On a slightly related note...I know we're watching an entirely different coaster slowly coming to fruition, and it is probably WAY too early to suggest this...but since Hershey's last two coasters were Intamin and it seems likely that this one will be as well, does anyone think coaster #13 might be a Zacspin in place of the cancelled Turbulence?
  15. Only six-wide? Finally, some realism in the RCT2 dive machine trains! It doesn't LOOK like the train extends off the side of the pic... In reality, this does look like a good addition to Heide-Park's lineup. Just another reason for me to wish I could visit...
  16. -There are still a few Laser Loop footers under the lift hill of the Phantom's Revenge. -There used to be a mini golf course under the Phantom until 2002. When the Phantom was built, some of its holes were removed, and the exit was made through a tunnel the course had. Now, the Phantom's exit is in Lost Kennywood, but the tunnel is still used for employee access. -Even though the entirety of the Turnpike's track was removed for Sky Rocket, the full length of the loading platform is still in place, complete with street lamps, the old entrance gate, and "EXIT" painted on the ground. -The King Kahuna area was left largely as is. The fountain beneath the ride was kept, as was the entire queue, including the tunnel through the concrete volcano. What appear to be planters are actually clever disguises for the footers. There's more at Kennywood, but I think I've covered the most interesting stuff, so here's stuff I know of at other parks. -The dip on Waldameer's Whacky Shack is smaller than it used to be. When you look at the facade, you can see how it used to be, since the design on the wall only comes up to the old track. -If I'm not mistaken, at Kings Island, a large amount of footers from King Kobra are still standing, particularly to the rear of the ride near Adventure Express. -I think I once saw a picture of track from the old Smurf Mountain ride at Kings Dominion, half-buried in concrete from the transformation to Volcano. -At Cedar Point, part of the White Water Landing trough can still be seen leading into the former loading station, which is now a queue house for Maverick. -Of course, there is the infamous Pirate dark ride building to the left of the Blue Streak station. -At both Cedar Point and Hersheypark, a station of a former Skyride still stands.
  17. Changing supports on wooden coasters is pretty common...the Thunderbolt at Kennywood had its structure re-engineered three different times to accommodate the Raging Rapids and the Phantom (once for each version). But I do think steel coaster supports have been changed in the past...didn't Pepsi Max Big One require a significant reconstruction when they built Infusion?
  18. Knoebels is awesome enough that it doesn't need a facade. The Haunted Mansion is just a house, and the Cosmotron is a round, grey metal building. If they make one for Black Diamond, cool. If not, you won't see me complaining. It's what's on the inside that counts, and if those are indeed props inside, then we can expect it to be on par with the Mansion. The mine car, compared to the originals, looks dead on as well.
  19. Dj...I'm begging you... PLEASE make a thread for Fellville!
  20. For me, it's either Cesari's at Knoebels or the Delgrosso's pizza. I'm leaning towards Cesari's, although I can't really remember how Delgrosso's compares, given I skipped it on my last visit in favor of Spaghetti Wednesday.
  21. Hate to bump this yet again, but I just installed WW and somehow I'm still missing DRAGON, BIGBEN and possibly others...
  22. Theoretically, though, if you conformed to the track direction of the normal ride, and had a good trainer, you could probably make scenery items of track not in the game, such as realistic antique auto track.
  23. All of mine are personal (not general such as Mean Streak surviving its fire)... -I, along with five co-workers, were all going to visit Dorney Park during August, centered around a birthday. We made all the necessary arrangements and plans, we all got the day off on the schedule, etc. Less than a week before the day came, we cancelled it on account of the birthday boy screwing us over. -I visited Lakemont Park for the third time this summer and STILL don't have the Toboggan credit (as torturous as it is made out to be)... -I only got three new credits this year...which is better than none...I know...
  24. I say make the Christmas tree a functioning tower ride. Also, maybe have a train circling either the tree or the entire park?
  25. Amusement park wise, this was an awesome year for me, and 2011 is looking to be even better. To start, Kennywood built its first coaster since the Phantom's Revenge this year! I loved being able to follow Sky Rocket's construction. Photographing each update made me that much more excited for its opening. And it's a great ride. It's not necessarily extreme, but it's FUN and that's what counts. This says it all. =D This ride deserves every bit of its success. Needless to say, I had my camera all over this ride! But we can't forget the other star attraction at the park. Some close-up detail on Kennywood's carousel. I'll admit it...I'm a sucker for antique wooden carousels. The Idlewild Mouse. Conneaut Lake Park's SBNO Toboggan. I also got to spend two days at my personal favorite park, Knoebels! Among many things, the atmosphere is awesome here. Again with the carousels...unfortunately, I didn't get any good shots of the main carousel. So the kiddie one will have to do. And a brief view of Twister. Another great old carousel, this one at Delgrosso's Amusement Park. The X-Scream drop tower at Waldameer. Back to Kennywood for Phantom Fright Nights! No caption necessary. Now to close with Christmas! Here is the giant Santa outside Idlewild. Last, but not least, Santa's sleigh on the Phantom.
