What is your non-theme park travel bucket list?
Moose replied to disneyfan1313's topic in Random, Random, Random
Interesting idea for a thread! Off the top of my head, I'd love I see the pyramids, an African Safari, a glacier before they're gone, and India. -
What is your next park?
Moose replied to onewheeled999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My guess is probably Lake Compounce in May or June. It's a long off season in New England. -
I had completely forgot that this was THE yellow B&M. It was pretty damn good with an absolutely amazing view!

What is the best coaster in your home park?
Moose replied to MattJackson's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I consider my home park to be Lake Compounce (even though Canobie is technically a bit closer), and my favorite ride in the park is Boulder Dash. It's awesome to have such a great coaster in my home park! -

TPR's 2012 China Trip!
Moose replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^agreed. Great views, great fun in every seat, great use of terrain, and great airtime. The middle section of this ride with all the curved airtime hills. I just hope this park that had virtually no other rides open can maintain it. -
I prefer ginger beer, mixed with Goslings dark rum.

Elementary School Shooting in Newtown, Connecticut

I agree with you 100% I have heard a statistic (no idea where) that you are more likely to be killed by your own gun than have it save your life, and it is true in this case. There is no need for one person to own that many guns. I have had the same argument with my own family. -
Perhaps I should head over to Mass, the cheapest I've seen here in RI is 3.50.

PTR: Bill's Epic 3 Weeks in China w/TPR!

Everything I tried was also very tasty, though admittedly I didn't try everything. I just couldn't stomach the duck head soup. -
Weird Roller Coaster Dreams
Moose replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Not exactly coaster related,but... I had a TPR related dream last night. We were staying in some scuzzy hotel that we would never stay at and I couldn't remember what time we were supposed to meet in the morning. Some of my favorite China trip peeps were there and we doing our typical late night Mons/Snow drinking in someone's room. I miss you guys! -
List the parks you have visited in 2012
Moose replied to ernierocker's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
2012 is winding down, so what parks did everyone visit? For me it was Lake Compounce and the many many parks on the TPR China trip (with Day 0 parks)! -
Do you buy DVDs, Blu-Rays, or Stream Video?
Moose replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I wish there were a way to switch the TiVo to always record HD unless there was none. As if yet I haven't found a way. Back on topic, I own a bluray player but only own regular DVDs. I mostly stream stuff but also use redbox. -

Their 2013 schedule is already up on their website. They open on May 11th, with daily operation starting June 12th. -

Is this in the area where the park currently holds concerts, or is it right next to it? -
I don't think I have ever waited more than 3 hours (Millenium force, opening year). If i were with the right people in the right circumstances (read Fuji-Q with TPR friends without line skip) I would likely wait that long again. That being said, if there was any way around waiting that long, I would have it.

ChrisHanKwansivus Gift Exchange 2012!
Moose replied to Brandy524's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My Secret Santa gift came in today! Since it was delivered by USPS it was left carefully on my back porch instead of thrown into my shrubs! Ohhh, it must be Italian! Santa, despite your "packing fail" (His words not mine), all of my Bountyful gifts survived the long trek from North Pole, NP to Providence, via Georgia. As soon as I opened the package, I gasped a bit, a rubber duck that I didn't have. This is quite the feat. Yes, I have Santa ducks, but this one has a far superior beard. He must have taken part in Movember! A new duck! I then opened the "Chinese" to go box, expecting cookies, but Santa fooled me, yet another duck, this one of a kind. I have to say, I still can not get over the craftyness that this duck exhibits. Quite impressive work there Mr. Claus. And my final gift that blew me away and won me over was a picture of "the view from the deck." Admittedly when I read that phrase in the kitty cat card, I was perplexed. But Santa knows me (and is likely a friend of mine on facebook) very well indeed, for it was a view from the deck of the ship I used to crew on that now on the ocean floor off the East Coast. My awesome gifts hanging out in my ChrisHanYuleKwansivus village. I am pretty sure I know who you are, but I am not 100%, but you did an absolutely awesome job. I am still floored by that picture. Thank you so much. -

My ups driver likes to hide boxes in my shrubs, so I hunt everyday but still no present. -
How well do you handle hangtime?
Moose replied to Vid_w's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
No coaster in normal operation hang time (ie not get stuck in loops) can compare with Feng Shen Coaster. It's pause in tr loop while the train falls onto its upstop pads and then shudders forwards until it falls back onto its wheels is like nothing I've ever felt... and it was awesome. -

I was never able to figure out Mg Santa last year. Hopefully ill have better luck this year, though there is some fun in having no idea who sent you an awesome gift!
