  1. Awesome, your recreations were/are amazing. Hope to see more, and good luck.
  2. Awesome TR, I actually burst out laughing at the bathroom graffiti, that kind of caught me off guard and considering I'm being really lazy(its like 130 anyway) I am not thinking at full maturity. I loved the second shot of Tatsu with the full train in the sun.
  3. Any chance you can put Apollos Chariot and Tatsu into one. Maybe one coaster per word. Name:The Ghost Coasters(as mentioned above) Apollo's Chariot and or Tatsu If the one you make is half as awesome as the others the Slipknot logo will be replaced, and it has been my logo for almost 2 years. Thanks man, you are really talented, and everything has looked great so far.
  4. ^ Yeah, but what has to be understood is that of the top 10 fastest roller coasters #3 Dodonpa has a unique layout, and then it goes all the way to #6 being steel dragon. All the other coasters are Hypers, with the exceptions of Backo and Accelerator. This coaster will be the fastest ride on earth, not be a rocket coaster, have some length, and will have more airtime than pretty much everything in the top 5, and maybe in the top 10 with the exceptions of Phantom's Revenge and Accelerator.
  5. Inglorious Basterds proves that Tarantino is still one of the best directors in Hollywood. The film is so flaw free and Tarantino's script was so brilliant that the movie had a round of applause before ending. I want to say though, if you thought District 9 was extremely violent, these basterds can do a lot worse to body than a gun could ever do. 8.5/10 Also, Eli Roth as the bear jew kicked all ass!
  6. Agrees, this is a great idea. Also, I wouldn't mind a mod stickying the preview thread.
  7. Heartlining -means to rotate the track on a point based on the average position of the riders’ heart, instead of a point located between the rails or anywhere else. The idea behind that is to keep the body of a rider in one place instead of throwing them to the side which would occur if the ride was not heartlined. This keeps the lateral G forces caused by rotation down, which generally means less head-banging. Heartlining does not completely eliminate transitional forces, as you are still rotating around a point, it just lowers the roughness and lateral forces in the transition. Also, this is from an AHG tutorial, so this is a long definition, but you can condense it if you would like.
  8. Holy **** the spinning coaster is themed to sonic? I used to love sonic, and it was totally one of the best sidescrollers for the sega and the gamecube one was pretty bad ass. Then they needed to add a psychic hedgehog and a black hedgehog with a gun. But, the fact that it will be well themed will be bad ass, but from what I've heard, spin bullet(the spinner at the other sega park) is very painful, is it the same builder?
  9. ^^Vffreak, since you are the official starter of the thread, just to let you know that knotts is adding a scarezone called "zombieland" based on the movie coming out. Here's the article for all to read travel.latimes.com/daily-deal-blog/index.php/zombieland-halloween-5079/ It will be by silver bullet, aka, the old silver bullet mining town scare zone.
  10. ^ This site will have everything you really need, Happy www.coasterchamber.com/forums/tools.php Building
  11. That was actually a pretty fun out and back, but the lateral g's are way to high, also, go over the track and take out some of the supports that the track goes through.
  12. The park looks great so far, and how about a name like grizzly or something foresty for your coaster.
  13. I have a bad feeling that if there is a movie for Big Thunder Mountain that the dinosaur will be part of it. That seems to be the rides unofficial icon because you can see it from the line. Also,I am pretty sure BTM is about an abandoned mining company in the mountains. I mean, first lift is like the early oh crap there's bats, then there are the random animals that I always took for being in the middle of nowhere. The next hill has the old mine parts(and conveniently in the shape of a hidden mickey) as well as the goat which is like old mining stuff. Also, the third lift I always took as going into the old dangerous mine with the rocks.
  14. ^^^and^^and^ have the same opinion as me, also give it a 9 or 9.5, it is awesome. The casting was perfect, the special effects were bad ass, and although there was a lot of action, there was also a lot more of a deep story and character development, although, Inglorious Basterds comes out next weekend and Tarantino is one of my favorite directors/writers, so I am hoping and guessing(has he ever made a bad film?) that it will be bad ass. I am also looking forward for 9 in September and Shutter Island in October.
  15. Rock N Roller Coaster-Hollywood Studios Damn, I miss Florida.
  16. Lol,thanks. I liked the ride, but it was kind of "wacky" or almost too original, because I dont see a layout like that being realistic. The ride itself was pretty awesome though, I loved the double down first drop and all the airtime, and it was pretty long. I think its an awesome concept and layout, but not really a realistic ride.
  17. Yay, I'm a cashier at Wild Rivers. I kind of hate it after working there though, but it has some kick ass slides.
  18. Those are real? Holy Crap! That was pretty damn funny/entertaining when they go shopping for abortion meet. I love the show(I watched a few episodes at my friends house and the rest on the internet.) Anyone(DCody) if it got picked up for a second season?
  19. I love TR's of places I will probably never visit. Also, that first picture of Hopi Hari was awesome with montezu dominating the skyline. The park looks very awesome. Once again, awesome TR!
  20. This park looks a lot better than Irvine's Wild Rivers(my current employer) If I ever do a california coaster road trip(which is in the works) I will try to add a few days in for Utah. These TR's have been great. Once again, congrats to Shane. The park appears to be thriving.
  21. Exactly, and people from the "GP" post things(aka "reviews") to sites like yelp.com(the article below) I was torn between giving this place a 1 star instead of a 2 star rating. The only reason why I am giving it 2 stars are the animals. My in-laws bought 3 of my kids season passes so I thought we would go and that my wife, my other daughter and myself would be able to get in for free as season pass holders get 5 free guest passes. Luckily, we went on a day that the guest passes were good. The guest passes are only good on selected days. Of course you do not know this until you get the coupon book. I expected a crowd there but the employees at this park have no control. I went to see the dolphin show and people were standing in the aisle. The employee would walk and tell them to move but nobody would listen to the guy. Also, we experienced a rude employee at the exit gate. My family was leaving the park and not returning. She was at the turnstile stamping hands for re-entry. As we were were not returning, there was an open gate, so I walked through. Then I hear this person yelling at me saying "That's Not an Exit". Well, if it's not an exit, lock the damn gate or place somebody in front so that nobody goes through. I was not happy with the element that goes to Discovery Kingdom either. I have not seen so many punk kids and trailer trash people in one place at the same time. You know the types. The kids that line jump, not moving when the line moves to piss people off, adults wearing shirts that say "Find the Wet Spot" and so on. I have been to Disneyland on a busy day and had a better time even with the crowds. I think the difference between Disneyland and Discovery Kingdom is that the the employees at Disneyland have some pride where they work. I believe that this is because it is a full time gig and the employees at Discovery Kingdom know that they will be let go at the end of the season. I will not return here again unless it is free and that is only a maybe. This place may be closed at the end of the season anyways. This is clearly not from an enthusiasts perspective, as it seems that at least 50% of this article is not the parks fault. (The yelp.com is bolded because I cant figure out how to do more than 1 quote per post.)
  22. ^ They took their baby(and you mean baby right, like a year or so younger than Kristen,or even younger?) That's insane. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Kristen is about two and a half, and if I am correct, she is still to small for most family coasters(like Disney and that kind of thing, not wacky worms and portables) and I don't think shes been on a flume yet. Parents always piss me off when the do things like this, there are even certain attractions with no height requirements that you dont take children on(on Saturday there were about 30-50 screaming children during the show tough to be a bug. What the hell is wrong with these parents(and in some cases, but not this case, meaning DCA, parks?) And jet stream is pretty rough, which cant be good for a very young child. And the final drop is like 50 feet tall, and the thing bounces kind of, which means kid kind of gets ejector air, because they weigh what? like 20 lbs. People like this kind of piss me off, if you are bringing a child who is very young either bring someone who is not going to ride to watch them, hire a babysitter and leave them at home, or just spend the day with your child. The only reason I am ranting about this subject is that people still complain about height/weight/age requirements which never made sense to me. They are there for a reason, and chances are that an infant does not understand change in speed. That's why Elissa is smart, Kristen was allowed to get the quassy wild mouse credit during the midwest trip(I believe) and Elissa said no. Many parents would have said yes, and there kids would not have been ready, which could have turned into a phobia. If your going to have kids, spend the day with your kids or give the kid to your wife/gf for part of the day and watch the kid for part of the day or something like that. Everyone needs to have days where they can go out and have fun, but at what cost? That was a lot longer than I expected and sorry to get off topic(certain members of the GP are really ******* stupid, though)
