^ I will post the first workbench soon from the first competition, which I felt was very good. But remember, if you want anything specific make a workbench and then you may be able to get what you want. New map rules in bold. -

What is your favorite genre of music?
the ghost replied to SonOfBeastSucks's topic in Random, Random, Random
Slipknot is new metal, if you look on there wikipedia page and everything thay are considered to be nu metal. Also, Corey kind of raps in a few songs, I ,mean its not really rap, but its not really singing. Like in Duality, that is more like rap than singing if you listen to it, but I tend to agree that slipknot is more like heavy metal. There old albums were a lot more like nu metal than all hope is gone because of the strong presence of the base guitar, but because of the more complicated and skillful riffs in all hope is gone Slipknot is noe officially heavy metal. Holy crap, the devil wears prada thing that is your avatar is reptar, that's awesome. -

^ I says in the rules that you must start from scratch, so you may be able to work with BG. Also, I think we should wait for more players before deciding on teams, I know I said make teams, but I don't want one team to totally dominate because they are two of the best players on the boards. That way if we have a newcomer you can like teach them or something. Not saying that certain people cant work together, but it seems unfair if someone is pretty much going to win from the beginning. You guys actually post below if you agree with the team rule above, or if you think it will be a free for all, what do you think judges, as like said above, I dont want anyone to completely dominate. -
A long time ago(more than a year) I started a contest called RCT pairs, and I would like to say it was very unique then and I have still never seen anything quite like it. This time around however, the game is going to be much more democratic, so I will just explain the rules, and then we will see what happens. Also, I will not be playing like I did last time, so it cannot be rigged. The main game is that you must choose a partner and start a park from scratch based on a template. Each month, two coasters will be built and themed, although, you can help each other out as long as one player helps out with theming. Also, 8 cars can be used, but do not do ridiculous hacks that give you an unfair advantage. To make this time more interesting in addition to the two coasters each month, you must add flat rides/landscaping or anything you want to make your park nice, although, as I am a player of the game(rct2 not rct pairs) I realize that is a lot to do within the time frame, so I obviously do not expect a full park done by the first date of the contest. The map- The map this time will be quite different than last time, because I am letting competitors make maps and then have people vote for the winning map(note, you cannot vote for your own) so, if you want to play make sure you see all the maps. Submissions for the maps are due by July 1st, and people will have until July 7th(1 week) to vote for a map. For those creating a map make sure there are enough things for people to use. If people can not decide on a suitable map, then the rct pairs 1 map will be used, which can be found at the bottom of this post. Everyone must have the same level of playing field, and I think that the contest will start on July 10th, so that way you can look around the map and experiment a little, but on July 10th you must start from scratch. Start making teams now, and an official starting date will be posted soon. I need a few judges who are not playing, but anyone with RCT2 will do. So, if you are interesed just leave a comment saying you will judge. There will be 5 judges hopefully, including myself. For any problems with the rules, questions about the game, or if you are in just post below good luck everyone. BTW, here is the RCT pairs one, and a lot of the rules are very similar. www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=42389&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=rct+pairs&start=110 Current Judges 1. The Ghost 2. Rckrazy06 3. Team Thriller 4.robmiester 5. I will start a player directory soon to make it easier for you guys to form teams.

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

Big Thunder Mountain- DLR -
I totally love thunder, and it was my first "big roller coaster" but I have the layout pretty much memorized. Also, in terms of theming thunder kicks space mountains ass, but space delivers a much more coasterish ride. I know dsneyland is a very family oriented park, and I forgot to mention that I prefer thunder to space mountain at night, but during the day space beats thunder. Matterhorn beats them all all the time, and the tomorrow land side wants to kill you, there are two death drops of awesome that are somehow airtimish without taking you out of your seat. Also, the layout is nearly imposable to memorize(heck, I've ridden about 50 times on both sides, and I'm not sure where the yeti is until we enter the tunnel) And I love how occasionally you race/duel the other side, it is awesome to have the surprise of another sled rocketing at you. The fantasmic show is hilarious now, because there was a huge dragon intro(a pretty cool little addition), but then there was no Maleficent's(I'm pretty sure that's her name) dragon. Here's my Disney/parents rant that I always want to gell parents- Also, parents are so stupid at that show it kind of makes me mad, if you have any child younger than five or six they will flip out at fantasmic, and then I always feel bad for the kids. There was a kid in a stroller behind us having like a seizure throughout most of the show(as soon as the pirate part starts with the loud bang) and the parents pretty much ignored him and stayed through the entire thing. Not every ride at Disney is for kids, cough Tower of Terror cough because some parents are stupid. If your kid is scared of fire and loud noises stick to fantasy land, same thing goes with parents who say hey, there is no height requirement on pirates lets bring our 2 year old who thinks all of this is real, or the peopel who say the matterhorn has a 36 inch height requirement, lets bring our four year old. There a big fricken yeti hiding in the dark for gods sake, in other words parents, dont be stupid. The end. Does anyone else agree with my rant?, and sorry it was so long, but that was literally what I wanted to tell the mother in line who told her son that the ride was like Gadget's go Coaster, and the mom even went on the more intense/freakier tomorrowland side.

I did not say space mountain gives more airtime, but thunder has very little force, and the airtime, while space gives force and airtime. On thunder it does not feel fast when you get airtime, like during the first section on thunder when there is that small drop, you kind of get ejected, but it is not necessarily a smooth moment of ejection. You kind of have to brace yourself. Also, right before the third hill there is a point of ejection, but I always bang my legs on the safety bar, which kind of hurts. The ride is just really force less, even during the tight helix, and it does not feel fast, but space does. Thanks for reading, and I cant wait to get my pass renewed. I am currently using a summer 3 day park hopper pass, because the 99 dollars I paid for it gets subtracted off the price of a season pass. It really was an awesome day. Also, the dragon thing was hilarious, cause it is new it got a huge intro, and then there was no dragon. The eels were pretty cool though, I loved there glowing eyes. Has anyone seen the summer fireworks yet?

Yesterday was the first day of summer for me and we decided to go to Disneyland for a friends birthday. My friend and I got to the park a little later then the other people in our group, and they already had Indy fast passes, and they said they wanted to meet up a little later. My friend and I went on thunder mountain, and we took the advice of the ride op who said stare at the goat after the second lift during the hill, for some reason it made the ride feel very fast at that point. Thunder is my least favorite of the mountains at Disneyland, because it is very family oriented(not that that's a bad thing) but there are three lifts, and very little airtime, in fact, I only got two very small pops. We fast passed Indy on our way out of the park, because we decided to try and go on it later during the day after we met up with the other people from our group. We then headed over to DCA and waited about 20 minutes for a ride on California Screamin, we were lucky enough to ride in the very back row, and we got some pretty good airtime throughout the ride, even a point of somewhat ejector airtime during the hill after the launch. We then rode tower of terror, and I love it, even though it is not nearly as good as Florida's it is still a solid ride, and is really fun. We then saw the Aladdin show, because it is very good, our feet were tired, and there has been a rumor for Genie was hilarious, and actually joked about pop culture, which was pretty funny. We then met up with the people from our group in the lobby at the grand Californian because we had never been inside. We then walked to the boardwalk area of the park and took a ride on my favorite flat ride there, the orange stinger, before it is turned into merry melodies swings, we then braved the 45 minute wait for toy story mania, because people from our group had no ridden yet, and we had a fun ride. I am happy to say I beat my friend next to me considerably, although I always win the beaver thing. We decided to take another ride on screamin, and waited another 20 minutes for it, I rode alone because we were a group of five and requested another ride in the back row, and the ride op said sure, so I got another airtime filled ride. We then took another ride on tower of terror, and we had fast passes, because our friends got them before and because it was his birthday and the majority of people in our group had them we waited five minutes, it was fun to see my friend who had never riddens reaction. We then went to Disneyland and took the train to the hungry bear cafe. The food there is very good, and you get quite alot, so we were satisfied. My friends had space mountain fast passes for an hour later, so to kill time we rode Winnie the pooh, and took the train to tommorrowland and went on star tours. We then went on space mountain and it was running very fast. It was fun, because I was lifted out of my seat once or twice, and that ride actually gets quite forceful, although I wish there were a few more drops, it was very fun. We decided to ride the matterhorn fantasyland side(my least favorite side) because all of my friends rode tomorrowland side earlier in the day. This is my favorite coaster at Disneyland, and we had a awesome time. We decided to take another ride on thunder, because it is awesome at night, and even better when the fireworks were on, which they were. After the ride the fireworks were already over, because I believe they shut down due to wind. We then waited for fantasmic to start, to see the new summertastic show improvements. The show was very good, but I have to ask, there was no dragon during our show, but the witch just got really tall. Is that because of the wind, or did they take out the dragon all together, becasue that was definitely the highlight of the show. We then ride indy, which is always awesome. On my way out of the park at 11:30 I had a dolewhip for the first time, and it was so fricken good, I think heaven is probably made of dole whip. Thanks for reading, and have an awesome summer, and expect more tr's / photo trs from me soon.

That was a great tr, but am I the only person who totally hates Deja Vu? The verticle drops were awesome, but for the rest of the ride I hit my head so many times, and I did not like it at all. I rode it in april on the inside, but just rode it for the credit.

Never mind, lol. Sorry, I was not aware the only way to make a helix like that is custom and does not work with the banking. It looks really cool. -

Wow, just wow. Honestly, I have never seen such a negative person on these forums. I am not planning on posting a response to whatever you will say to this(and im sure you will have something to say) because I want to keep this thread about the coaster, you should do the same. -

^ Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but really?, at least post why you decided to give such an awesome ride a low score. Also, you are new, which does not mean I am giving you any less credibility, but might mean you have ridden less coasters then most. Especially considering there are some amazing designers that have already given this ride very positive reviews. I just rode and I am giving this a 9/10 because the concept/inversion is extremely unique, but there was just something missing for that perfect score(I'm not entirely sure what it is though, lol) but the ride was pretty fun. -
That show is amazing, and lol at the girl still being from the soviet union. The 90's tv shows and commercials and tv shows own all.
-
That was amazing, probably my new favorite track of all time. It was cool how parts of it were inspired by DD like the floater air part with the zero g underneath, but it was also extremely original. The support work seemed perfect, and the scenery looks awesome. The pacing was also kick ass! and there was an awesome story line that made perfect sense! 10/10

Fuel The RAGE [NL]
the ghost replied to Thelegendarymatthew's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
If you want there is a way to change the metric speeds to imperial speeds, when you are riding a coaster press escape, go to options, then it will say like measurement or something and set it to imperial. The custom loops were awesome, you should probably save them. -

I'll ride and review when im done with my homework. Were all of the inversions custom? because they were ridicoulasly smooth, so if these were custom those were awesome, considering you are such a new designer. The layout, however was not particularly intresting and he corkscrews at the end were taken a littls slow in my opinion. Im giving it a 7/10 which is very good considering this is what? your third track or something. Good work, but practice and you willmaster nl.
