Lagoon Discussion Thread
DisWiz replied to Twister II's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I remember someone saying in the other thread that it could possibly be industrial themed, maybe that's what they're going for. But it doesn't even look like they poured footers, just shoved the poles into the parking lot. -

Looks like I'll be heading up to Park City once it opens to see how it is. Although the cost does suck, but it'll be worth one ride hopefully. -
No I think that's Kansas, I had to drive through it a few weeks ago, what a boring state. I'll take a dry climate with mountains like Utah over anything. But Lagoon, ah yes, the mystery coaster. We'll see how this turns out, not that I really care that much as I'll be gone next year, but whatever.

Man it's amazing how long those lines are at WoF. I was actually just there last Friday (could have been the day before you). It was dead, everything was almost a walk-on. The longest wait was probably for Spinning Dragons at like 10 minutes. Just a little weird to see how the crowds differed from Friday to Saturday. -

Wow great looking station, from the pictures I have seen so far it looks like there is a door behind the cars. Does this close behind the cars as they come in? Seems cool and gives it a tighter space feeling in there if it does. -
http://www.xtremevelocity.co.uk/cf/index.php?page=alton A bunch of flat rides. http://www.themagical.nl/Site/simulaties/index_TOT_V8.php A very cool one that lets you run the Tower of Terror from Florida.

I've heard a little bit about this so far. I read that article in the paper, sadly it didn't say much besides it would be better. Although I guess that's good. Just incase you were wonderding it's planned to go in West of Colossus (which is the parking lot) but I expect it will be themed and such. (Also heard that it will be in the area of those big blue buildings that are indoor tennis courts that aren't used I think.) I'm just wondering since the main rumor I heard is that it was a design by Arrow but is being built by someone else (not S&S) so we'll see how that ends up. Can't wait for my one park trip this whole year to Lagoon! /sarcasm -

I think another major reason is that it wasn't wheelchair friendly. I think there's a movie over at visionsfantastic if you want to look around over there. Not really much to see, just some windows with some little figurines in them. -

Nothing beats a Mondial Top Scan, didn't see it on the list (or an other option) so I didn't vote. -

Not to mention mountain biking at the resorts. Just put your bike on the chairlift and it takes ya to the top of the mountain. I think Snowbird does this, but I atleast know Sundance does, and I'll need to go back this summer. -

Glad to see you had tons of fun! I went snowboarding for the first time this past winter up at Brighton for night runs (15 dollars for 5 hours can't be beaten!!). It was a blast, I found that I picked it up quickly and had a great time. So much fun that I went back in two weeks for more. So that brings my ski/snowboarding trips to 3...and I've lived here my whole life, I'll be doing more of it in the future though, it's fun. Also it's cool to see Snowbird in the winter, I went up there this past summer and had some fun. All day pass for Alpine Slides was some of the best money I've spent! -
The one time I had the chance to ride X I came off with a very bad charley horse from my legs getting beat all around. I also think it did something to my appendix (as I was in Xtreme pain the day after SFMM and had to go the hospital and have it taken out)

I saw some the other day on a site and went and looked them up, here is the only one I could find: http://www.themeparkbrochures.net/1975/arrowflume1975.html I also went to Google images and typed in Log flume and got a bunch of results that could help.

^ I had always thought that it's legal since they no longer make these games anymore.

Pick N Mix Video #1 Contest Top 20!
DisWiz replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^ That's weird I have Pinnacle 9 also and it had problems loading the clips into my project. So I also had to use WMM, I wish Pinnacle would work I could get the cuts more on the beats of the music. -

What is the best coaster in your home park?
DisWiz replied to MattJackson's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My local home park is Lagoon. Yaaaay Anyway, the best ride there is the Schwarzkopf double looping (with additional trackway curve) RCDB.com had it with that additional trackway curve, not extra sure what is additional, oh well. This ride is still a great ride for me, I've been to CP and even SFMM yet I still love this ride! Sure it's short but it packs a punch that only a Schwarzkopf could do. -
I got that same thing in the mail (with me being about 13 hours from SFMM). It might of been when we ordered are passes off the internet for the park two summers ago. Still was cool to see Tatsu sitting there, 'til I realised it was small (if only it had a cool big picture of the dragon I would have put it up on my door).

Twister II's California Trip Review!
DisWiz replied to Twister II's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
You weren't expecting Pirates to be good?? Wow. Plus you think that the 1st row on Thunder is better than the back? Again, wow. But that's just my opinion, have fun at DCA tomorrow. -

^ I'm wondering the same thing, couldn't you just take still shots of all the different combinations and then put them together? Although that would take a lot of time too... -
Actually there is a way within iTunes. Just go up edit>>preferences, then click on the advanced tab, and within that the importing tab. Now switch where it says Import Using: (usually should say AAC Encoder) , just switch it to MP3. Now close that, and go to the song you want to convert, right-click on that song, and there is a convert selection option. Click on that, and it will now convert your song from AAC to MP3, the new songs pops up in the recently added list. And for a quick way of finding it, right-click on the new song, and go to get info, and at the bottom of that new box it says where this file is located. Go find it, and move it where you want, and have a great day! Also, when you convert it, it doesn't delete the old file, so you'll have the original and the new converted file. Hope that makes sense, took me forever to figure out how to do it.
