At Least I'm Known fore Something-New Found Glory

Great to hear that more "family friendly" activities are being built in Las Vegas. Hopefully this project comes true, but Las Vegas doesn't seem like the place a family would go on vacation unless they were going to Los Angeles. The amusement park has a lot of potential, and a large indoor water park would be great for the area since Wet n Wild closed.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
Airtime&Gravity replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^the golden ticket awards will rank it high because it's at Cedar Point. Maverick looks like an awesome ride, and it appears to be the best ride at CP. I don't think it is a top ten coaster world wide, but it sure seems better than MF. -

While it is great that the area is getting a park on this scale, I think it is getting over hyped. It seems people are expecting something close to Universal theming, but I'm expecting something closer to slightly below Busch theming. I'm not saying the park will be Six Flags as it will still be a great park, but it doesn't seem to be as good as everyone thinks it will be.

After reading how painful the restraints are, I couldn't imaging being upside down like that for 30 minutes. At least no one got hurt, but it brought back memories of when Demon did the same thing back in the mid 90s. Rescuers had a difficult time with that, so I can't imagine the trouble to help these people who were stuck roughly 60ft. higher.

Store manager fights back against robbers
Airtime&Gravity replied to BarryH's topic in Random, Random, Random
Bet the robbers didn't see that coming... Usually it is the other way where the clerk gets wounded of killed, but the robbers got what they deserved. Maybe I sound cold hearted by saying that, but they were asking for it. At least no innocent civilians got killed, and two teenagers paid a steep price for their stupidity. -
Waiting in line...
Airtime&Gravity replied to swampfox's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Lines for rides seem to be much shorter for major rides where you live, but at a major park in America, a 30 minute wait means you're lucky. While I usually use flash pass, I really don't mind waiting in a line. With the exception of S:UF, waiting in line is worth the ride, and unless the line is spilling into the midway, I don't have a problem. However, I do become irritated when crowd control in the station is poor. At fright fest last year, the wait in the queue for Viper was 30 minutes, but I was in the station for one hour! Everyone wanted their group to ride together, line jumping was everywhere, and it was really unpleasant. -
Toverland Discussion Thread
Airtime&Gravity replied to turbolaaf's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow, Troy continues to get better every week, and this appears to be the best wooden coaster built in several years. I never thought of Toverland of having themed rides, but that will change now. -
"Home made carnival"
Airtime&Gravity replied to Maverick's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow,and I thought American carnivals looked unsafe. I like carnival rides, but I would never get on any of those rides, and does anyone else think the rides were built from material found in a junkyard? -
11 year old arrsted for using toy gun

Well, if the kid pointed it at another person, then I have no sympathy for him. While the police should not have gone as far as they did, they were just doing their job. Sure the kid didn't have to be arrested, but you have to be pretty stupid to do what he did. -

Guess showing up one hour late didn't help. Well given how upset she was when she was told to serve here entire sentence she'll stop acting so spoiled....maybe not. All we have to do now is imprison all celebrities who break the law, and I'll be happy. -
Wyandot Lake has released concept art of what the new park will look like. I'm very impressed, and the new park looks like it'll be really nice. While it will mainly be a water park, a steel sit down coaster is visible in the pictures. http://www.nameyourwaterpark.com/sketch.htm

While it would have been better with the mountain, it still looks like a fun ride. I don't know much about the park it is at, so I don't know how well it will do, but it is nice that England got a good new coaster. However, the parks advertising seems a little bad with them calling the coaster the largest (or whatever they are marketing it as) in the country. Also, Knightmare seems really similar to the Great Russian Mountain at Wonder Island.

threadjacked...again Great photos and TR, and WoF really looks like a nice little park. It doesn't seem to be that well liked, but it's a good park for the area. Patriot and Spinning Dragons both look fun, and these are these coasters don't seem to be liked much. -

Wow, this coaster looks better each week, and the theming is a lot better than what I expected.(something like Falken) I like the spikes in the ground, and I was not expecting the station fly-through. This is my second favorite coaster being built this year, and it keeps getting better.
