  1. Yeah, so your telling us after shelling out twenty-one million dollars on Maverick, CP just decided to waste a lot of money on a mediocre coaster? Sorry, but that is one of the most ridiculously thing I've read here, and how could construction have started when no markers, land clearing, permits, or anything and not show up here? Well, I could be wrong though since Theme Park Review, the world's largest enthusiast site, could possibly be late on a massive coaster project. If you could offer any proof that anything was going on, then we would listen to you, but when you say "crap is getting crap" without any proof, then we will not listen to you. As for the Alton Towers wooden coaster, that has been rumored for several years, and while planned to be finally built in 08, I think it is on hold again.
  2. I actually like that there is no fanfare or real media on this ride. With most parks, you know what they are getting for the year several months before the park opens, and whatever it is, it is made out to seem like the best of its kind. Oh well, Boardwalk Bullet looks like a beautiful coaster, and even with minimal theming, it is more than enough for the ride. Hopefully Gravity Group builds more like this in the coming years.
  3. Well the ride, let alone the entire industry, has received a lot of bad publicity, so it is possible it will be removed. However, I doubt it will be, sounds like something a GP would say or a watch dog group would try to have happen, and next year, I'm sure the ride will be open.

  5. When it comes to prices, what did he expect? Six Flags is not Knoebels, and while it is more expensive to visit a SF park than a CF park, Six Flags seems to give a better experience since the new ownership. Disney and Six Flags have high prices because some family has been looking to the trip for months, and the parents don't want to upset their kids by not going when they find out the price. The writer said admission to a Disney park was $^&(I thought it was about $75), and Disney could charge $100 and people would still visit, but SF is around its limit. While families from Iowa going to Disney World will shell out their life savings, they will also spend a lot when they go to Six Flags. The family will still have a good time, and while not a Disney experience, their visit will probably be a lot of fun. I really have to wonder what the writer would like to see at Six Flags since he seemed upset that there was no hundred million dollar prototype attraction like Disney has. Seriously, Six Flags and Disney provide two entirely different experiences. Both companies have to make money, and when he has to pay for a trip that is not up to Disney standards, he goes on a long rant. Now, there is nothing wrong with having a good time, but the writer seemed so focused on every bad detail.(well it is the media after all) Sure SF could lower admission prices, but SF needs a lot of money to get out of debt. Coming from one of the best SF parks, the admission seems just a little high, but if the other parks are brought up to SFGAM standards, then SF will not seem so overpriced as a whole.
  6. Now I know it was an opinion column, but why the hell would you compare Six Flags America(of all SF parks, why SFA!?) to Disney? Of course a Six Flags park will not be as nice as Disney World, so why compare the rides and overall experience to it? Now there were probably valid points for the cleanliness of the park, but that is about the only respectable part of the article. Also since it was MSNBC, they had to bring terrorism into it and go on about an unattended backpack that could have had a bomb in it even though it went through security.
  7. So wait, is this just a long stay carnival, or did someone set up a lot of carnival rides and reopen it as a park? You said it is run by a traveling fair company, but this seems really large for something that isn't a well established festival like Munich's Oktoberfest.(that's the spelling) Whatever the case, they need to get some people there because Wild West World got larger crowds than that.
  8. I still don't get this concept: 1. I know other parks have lockers, but the lockers opened with the attractions to my knowledge. Now if the lockers showing up at SF parks have been there as long as the ride they are there for have been there, then I wouldn't complain. I also wouldn't complain as much if the lockers opened with the park for the 07 season, but opening lockers this late in the season seems like an attempt to make some easy money. 2. Why is there such a limited time use for the lockers? I don't have a problem with a one time fee, but charging two dollars for every hour after the first three seems excessive. Hell, why is the park charging for something they are forcing the riders to use? Now I have nothing wrong with the fact that there are lockers. However, I think the park should focus on kicking people out of the park for line jumping or those who are smoking outside of the smoking areas rather than putting so much effort on this.
  9. No Have you ridden a coaster on its first day of operation?
  10. Simply amazing, and this is one of the best looking coasters I've seen in a while. The first drop seems very similar to the Airplane Coaster at Rye, and the entire coaster has a very classic look to it. This is probably my most anticipated coaster of 07, and with each update, it keeps looking better and better.
  11. I may be the only one who says it, but while not great, Valleyfair looks like a decent park, and since it is the only major park in the area, it features a good amount of attractions. While most of the coasters don't look great, they do look like a lot of fun, and while it has the trademark Cedar Fair theming, it doesn't look as bad as Darien Paved Lake.
  12. ^You have All-Star Adventures which looks like a nice FEC, but they got rid of(resold or scrapped) their Schwarzkopf City Jet coaster, so they just have two kiddie coasters. While the coasters might not be great, two kiddie coasters are better than none, and who knows, maybe it will get a "major"(L&T/ Pinfari) coaster within a few years.
  13. Yes Do you have the 2006 TPR DVD set?
