  1. Please correct me if I am wrong Robb, or anyone for that matter, but at other parks isn't it cheaper, or you can rent lockers for longer times. This system is unusual to me as I've never encountered it, but why can't riders just leave their stuff in the station? SFSTL actually has a person who stays by the bins and makes sure no one steals anything, so if they are worried about stuff being stolen, just do that.(no extra people would have to be hired, but one of the ride ops would monitors who leaves and takes stuff)
  2. The prehistoric section looks nice, but the rest of the park with cacti in what looks like the middle of the path to the colors of the rides, to the boxy architecture to the narrow mountain look unusual. It's creative, and it's unrealisticness(is that even a word) actually make it an interesting park.
  3. ^Hey I thought MFI was a carnival when I drove by it, so easy on the "dummy"... Oh well, looks like you two had fun, and I realize I should have gone to Great Escape rather than Darien Lake as GE looks much better than Darien Paved Lake. I can't believe you took two little kids to ride the coaster, that is so Elissa,(pre KidTums) but I guess anything to get the credit.
  4. Great TR and photos, and hopefully I'll get a chance to go back up there. La Ronde looks like a pretty nice park, not SFGAM good but good, and it has the best location for a park in my opinion. It is amazing how far it has come in the past few years since Six Flags acquired it, and with the rumored water park it will be even better. Airtime-who really wants to go back-&Gravity
  5. Nice and very creative, and it looks like something from a cartoon or at a circus.(okay so a coaster themed like that wouldn't be at a circus, but with the colors and shape of the buildings, it looks circus-ish) Even though a family style track design, the coaster looks like a major thrill ride for kids and a good ride for older people.
  6. Have you even been to CP? They definatly do not have very stringent height limits. If you want stringent height limits, come to SFNE, where our wooden coaster and hyper coaster both have 54" height limits Actually I have been to Cedar Point, but the sarcasm was missed... I think the half pipe is a disk-o, and while two new coasters would be good, I doubt it will happen. While a half pipe coaster would be cool, you have understand that whoever wrote the article probably considers a disk-o a coaster because it has track, and the ride vehicle travels over it much like a coaster would. Edit: I know someone posted the half pipe coaster is confirmed, I still have my doubts. I just don't see the new park managers adding two coasters in one season, and while I'm not calling your claim bs, I just have a hard time believing it. I'm not saying it wont happen, I really hope it is true, I just wont believe it until I see photos. Just look at the new B&M invert in Korea, and see how they had a picture of a dive machine with invert cars. Now B&M didn't build a coaster like that, but a new invert was built. You claim to have seen a half pipe, and a spinning ride will be built. However, I just don't know it the ride you saw, and the ride that will be built will be the same. A disk-o sounds much more plausible, and since they are popular now, it seems like the more realistic option.
  7. Indiana Jones et le Temple du Péril
  8. This is probably the most ridiculous policy I've heard, and I hope it does not go chain wide. I don't have anything with having to put items in lockers, but the fact that Six Flags is charging for a rule they have just shows how far they are willing to go to make some money. I will laugh when this comes back to bite them in the ass though, and maybe then they will realize that there are limitations o how much people will spend at their parks.
  9. Well keep in mid that this isn't Cedar Point, so just because the coaster is taller than 50 feet, it will not have a 54 inch minimum height requirement. I have to agree though, it would have been better th theme Timberland Twister or even Ripsaw(Well this would be difficult since it goes over the whole park) to Spongebob, but theming a looping coaster to Spongebob isn't the best idea. I'm sure there are many kids who watch the show that will be unable to ride, and those that do probably don't want to ride a Spongebob coaster.
  10. why you didn't spend 15 minutes to switch over to Geico(so what if it's auto insurance), so before you hit the ground you...
  11. As much as I'd love for them to get ride of Superman: Not So Ultimate Flight, I say if any coaster is removed, it should be Demon. However, I would prefer they do what SFGADV did for S:UF and build their next coaster into the parking lot,(add grass like they did, and not just use asphalt as a theme like some other parks), and if they should get a new coaster(I'm happy with their current selection), I'd like to see one of those crazy bobsled coasters, a euro-fighter, or an Intamin zac spin.(aka ball coaster)
  12. Well, at least the company now managing the park seems to be willing to invest a lot of money in to the park. I hope they keep the trees and foliage because it made the park unique and not some cavernous shed.(Mt. Olympus' Parthenon and Galaxyland are great examples) I would also like to know how they plan to add all that they want to since the park seemed filled up from the photo's I've seen. I haven't been to the park since not long after opening(it was still run by Knotts), so I might have a reason to return to the park.
  13. Lou Who is obsessed with Steel Dragon?
  14. Wow, very nice coaster, and the theme and back story were great. This seems like a very realistic coaster, and it looks like something you would find at a small European park.
  15. ^Remember though, on Hulk, the cobra roll comes before the loop. Plus, the train enters it right after a launched zero-g roll. The inversions look like the right size, but as I said earlier, the ride seems fairly short.
  16. ^what if all the rides are solar or hydrogen powered? Although, clear cutting trees wouldn't make sense... I don't see why Holiday World would build a whole new section so soon though. They should expand the Christmas and July 4 sections first, and while a new section would be good, of all holidays, why pick Valentines Day? A Cinco de Mayo area would be cool especially if it were like Plaza de Carnival at SFGADV.(El Toro would make it even better )
  17. Hopefully if these inversions are tighter than usual, maybe it will be intense like the older B&Ms. It looks like a fun coaster, but it seems short and a little RCTish. The premier coaster concept seems great, but I'm seeing a lot of downtime with it. As for the rest of the park, it should be great, but I don't see how they'll finish the park with all the theming by April.
  18. Why do we say "heads up" when we mean "duck"?
  19. Good photos, but too bad Black Mamba was a disappointment. Phantasialand looks like a really nice park, and it seems to have come a long way in the past years. The park appears to be both themed and landscaped well, and the rides, while not great, seem like a lot of fun.
