^Peta actually recommends euthanasia over no kill shelters From the hypocrites themselves I understand that the public's tastes change, and that younger people don't want to see animals perform stunts. Fine, SeaWorld has to adapt to survive, but as we've seen from the statements from SeaWorlds critics, it isn't enough. They will not stop until SeaWorld, and zoos in general are shut down. To see the bs that gets thrown at SeaWorld as well as the hypocrisy of PETA and armchair activists is truly infuriating. I saw this decision coming a while ago, especially after Ringling Bros ended elephant performances. Unfortunately, slick documentaries, evem if factually dubious, can move from preaching to the choir to changing the world. Sometimes the stupid wins. That said, SeaWorld hurt their cause even further, and gave credence to PETA with some of their PR stunts like sending spies to animal rights groups and spam voting online polls in support of SeaWorld.

Those cars look familiar. Great to see that ride back where it belongs. Also, for those that don't know, Wildcat, the parks galaxy coaster, is now gone.

Surprised this hasn't been added yet. Worlds of Fun has announced that they will be expanding their Planet Snoopy with five new rides for 2016. Link Never mind, missed it as the most recent posts were wondering if WoF was due for a coaster. Also, I figured it would be posted at 2 like KI's announcement yesterday.

Wind seeker spins, just fyi. I'm aware of that. I'm okay with gentle spinning, but I get sick on more intense spinning rides like tea cups, frisbees, etc.

Hey everyone, I'm looking at going to Cedar Point May 14 and 15(Thursday & Friday). How are the lines early in the season, are there many groups, and should I get a Fast Lane? I also can't ride spinning rides, but are there any non-coaster flats besides Power Tower, Skyhawk, and Windseeker I should be sure to ride?

Well now, this is a surprise(photo from Screamscape). I wonder if this is a sign of larger attractions in the parks future. I must say though, I'm amazed at how much they have fit into a relatively small area. I don't believe they have expanded onto the old Racing Rapids site yet, so there is still plenty of room for expansion.

Anyone else getting a Happy Tree Friends vibe from the photos? Anyways, looks unique, and it'll be interesting to see how it turns out.

Six Flags Great America 2015: Hometown Square renovation/Improve customer service 2016: Build dark ride in old MagicQuest location. Continue to improve customer service and landscaping. Refurbish Whizzer and Demon for 40th anniversary. Remove Pictorium. 2017: Add Star Flyer in Raging Cajun's old spot. Add water coaster to old Pictorium location, and continue to improve landscaping and customer service.(I was just at Dollywood, Great America needs a lot of work) Remove go-karts at end of season. 2018: Build Super Loop and Air Race on old go-kart location. Remove Dark Knight at end of season. 2019: Build S&S free fly on old Dark Knight location

^I think that if that happened, the animal rights activists would have just complained about them not spending on the animal exhibits. Echo chambers, the Streisand effect, and people's desire to be part of a cause made anything Sea World did lose-lose situation, and I think the only thing for Sea World to do is wait until the activists get distracted by a new cause.

I don't know what the issue is, but it has to do with the orange train. I do know, however, that the exact same thing happened yesterday. It opened at 330, ran both for a bit then took the orange off, and put it back on about 30 mins later and ran fine the rest of the day. I was in the station when the ended up taking the orange train off as there was a burning smell coming from it.

Is there an event going on? I was planning on going to the park tomorrow, but if Goliath is down, I might not, especially if there are large crowds expected. Great America has been packed on all my visits this year, and with the decline in service, it can get very unpleasant to visit.

Looks like those cars belong to a scrambler or a spinning ride that you'd never be able to get me on. The park is looking great. Driving by the park, it is great to see the progress that has been made from where the park used to be. Also, who owns the old Polar Dome, you or Paintball Explosion?
