Actually, I don't believe a single part of Storm Chaser is going to be wood anymore, steel track and steel supports. -
Your longest coaster road trip
chickenbowl replied to larrygator's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Last month, I drove around 2000 miles starting and ending in Seattle to visit Wild Waves, Playland, and Silverwood. I also visited Okympic, North Cascades, and Glacier National Parks too. A lot of driving, but very worth it! -
Post your milestone coasters

#100: Catwoman's Whip #200: Nighthawk #300: Tremors (last week) -
For some reason, I have a feeling that they will just completely cut off a side of this coaster and make it have a single track. I bet it'll still be great, maybe even have a Medusa drop, but I really doubt they will keep it racing. (And definitely no launches). I just don't think they have the budget for it.

Here's my rumor, posted on June 4th. We all seemed skeptical at the time, but more than a month has passed since and look where we are! I can't wait until 8/28 or so, when we find out what the layout of this beast will be. I have some ideas, but there's so much potential with a GCI layout to begin with!

The last new Coaster in your Count

I got my 300th credit on July 3rd, Tremors at Silverwood! -
No there's not. Speaking of Roar RMC, I called this a month or two ago, and no one believed me. It's funny how almost everybody's mind has changed since then. I get it, who would've expected back to back Cali RMCs?! Im really excited for the layout release anyway, I'm hoping for blue or yellow track cause the park has enough red and orange, but we will see! Just 6 weeks or so now!

The last large Dive Machine opened 7 years ago, B&M very well could have slightly changed their track style by now. It's definitely a non-inverted coaster looking at the ties. -
Lake Compounce Discussion Thread
chickenbowl replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This coaster is the perfect coaster for Lake Compounce! I feel like any capacity issues are irrelevant for a park of this size. I'm glad LC is able to build another large coaster now. It'll look very impressive sitting in the park. Way to go, LC, good job! -

You guys wouldn't believe what happened to me yesterday. In Silverwood, (in line for Tremors at the end of the day) I overheard a guy talking about how he built a roller coaster with two sides earlier this year. I asked if he worked with RMC on TC and he said yes! I talked to him for 5 minutes and he told me about working in both MA and CA. I finally asked him if he knew where he was working this winter. He said nothing was absolutely confirmed, but he did know he was working in California again ("this time in the north"). I asked him if he knew what park, he said he didn't know, but some other guys keep talking about a "Roar coaster or something". This basically confirms it you guys! I can't wait for the announcement at the end of August! What are the chances if meet a construction worker?!

La Ronde Discussion Thread
chickenbowl replied to Skyscraper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
No. That is a fanboy/speculation video (nothing wrong with speculation, just saying) and is not confirmed. The locations of the 2016 RMC coasters are already known, and La Ronde is not one of them. Videos such as the one you linked are complete speculation--he used to be a poster on these forums months ago. BTW, I have seen the sign.. They have moved it to the car maintenance building but riding the carriage thing that goes around the park, you can see it. Alan Schilke said , one new coaster in Europe, in Kentucky and one rollercoaster in Six Flags is getting the Iron Horse treatment and then gave this hint: "We put topper track on it not too long ago". They put topper track on Le Monstre 2 weeks ago, this sign and that basically give it away. I haven't read that quote, although it is now outdated. The coaster in Europe (Wildfire) has been pushed back to at least 2017. A recent RMC job listing stated the projects are in Kentucky, Tennessee, and California. The SF project is Roar at Discovery Kingdom. It makes no sense to I-box a coaster if it was retracked two weeks ago. Alan said Roar is not getting RMC'd due to budget issues.. La Ronde documents were leaked showing that the design was drawn and finalized and they're waiting for budget approval. Also: Le Monstre just turned 30 and the track was broken in the section they fixed. Only time will tell. Do you have any source? I haven't heard anything even remotely like this. Why would Schilke comment on SF's financial state? We on these forums would know if documents were leaked. No disrespect at all, but I'm calling BS on this. (I'm trying to find those myself, actually. I'm only posting speculations from others) La Ronde is supposed to have a Media Release sometime in July so hopefully something cool is revealed. Monstre is NOT getting RMC next year, get over it. I'll send you $1000 canadian dollars if it does, that's how certain I am. -
Playland/PNE (Vancouver) Discussion Thread
chickenbowl replied to Nrthwnd's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It was running today!! And my God was it hauling?! Holy crap, how can this coaster be legally running with those trains? The airtime is insane! I rode three times in the back row and a few more in other seats. This coaster easily sits in my top 4 among Pheonix and Boulder Dash. The standing airtime on this is so good!! -

NO! I'm going tomorrow for the first time. I'm really really hoping they will have Coaster running by then! -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
chickenbowl replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have a feeling it won't be anything we are even thinking of. I could see them getting a B&M, but I think it would be a lot more unique than people here are hypothesizing. I could also see them not getting a B&M too, but it is exciting to wait and see! That said, out of B&M's current catalog of coasters, I would 100% prefer a Dive Coaster over everything else. -

SheiKra and Griffon had a LOT of airtime, I don't agree with your assessment of Dive Coasters here. I think those first drops are some of the best around! -
I realize it is just a rumor, but I am 100% convinced it's happening! All of the rumors (most coming from different places) have lined up. I heard three projects for 2016, and then three job listings were posted from RMC. And then from a while ago I heard only one Six Flags project for 2016, and only one state on the jobs list (CA) even has a SF park. And then I also heard a rumor from an employee that Roar was closing towards the end of summer. This is all lining up to me.
