I think the colors will look good once built. They're very unique and will truly stand out at Cedar Point -
This! But whatever they do, they NEED it to be good for more than just a few years after the restoration. That's the only thing I fear if it's not an RMC...how long will the ride be good for before it falls back into being rough again? That being said, I just rode Boulder Dash early this season and it's been what, 5 or 6 years since GCI did their work and it's still running AWESOME! But Lake Compounce also only has three big roller coasters right now, two of them being woodies.... Agreed! I just think that the restoration will need to include new trains. PTC's can beat the CRAP out of the track, just look at Voyage. Whether it is GCI, Gravity Group, or RMC, I just really hope the renovation includes new non-PTC trains! I'm still hoping for RMC regardless.

Just cause a 15 year-old posted that on Instagram does not make this stupid claim correct. That is NOT a source. Can everyone PLEASE stop spreading this ridiculous rumor? -

The death made it on national news tonight if you don't think the same media that had a field day with numerous topics this summer wouldn't go to town with a coaster themed to a death omen when someone just died at the park... Valravn is the most vague name though. Is folklore, I couldn't find anywhere online where it was referred to as a "death omen".You guys are being ridiculous. It's a fairytale name at this point. -

What're you talking about? The logo was leaked and it says Cedar Point. The name is the ONE thing that you can be sure of! You think they would ditch the name last minute?? Haha no way! Snowball's chance in hell they'll use it for the dive coaster. Do you realize that their reputation could be tarnished if they decided to use a name associated with death just days after someone died at their park? It will be either Centurion or "Lake Erie Monster" or something of that sort. Hahaha, Calm down there, bud. Don't get carried away, the name is fine... -

Edit: I read through everyone's speculation on the name, Valravn. Of course they're not going to change it, simmer down everyone! It's so unlikely that they would change the name because of this, every intimidating coaster name can be traced back to death in some sort, it's a stretch really. Everyone is exaggerating, they've postponed the announcement in order to stay out of the media for a little while, nothing else. Sheesh -

Taken right from the park map. And if he didn't have a map, the signs around the fence should have been pretty clear. Thank you so much for posting this! For crying out loud, the park map has the answer LITERALLY printed right there. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for stupidity! -

There's many theme park deaths that have happened to unlucky people, these people followed all the safety rules, yet by chance and by pure accident, they lost their lives. And there's there's "accidents" like these, 100% completely avoidable incidents. Now I know that I should not judge this event yet, because the accident is still under investigation, but still... There is NOT A SINGLE reason ANYONE should EVER enter a restricted ride area, especially during ride operation. There is absolutely no excuse, at all. Sure I feel sorry for his family and whoever has to deal with this moron's actions, but COME ON! What were you thinking?! Sorry for the rant, it's just idiots like these that give theme parks a "dangerous" name. -
Well I didn't think I'd need to update this so soon, but I now have 3 more states to add: Texas, Missouri, and Oklahoma! Out of 336 coasters in North America, 21 states and 3 countries: US: CA - Twisted Colossus CT - Boulder Dash GA - Goliath FL - SheiKra (Fire Dragon/Montu are close) ID - Tremors ME - Excalibur MA - Bizarro MO - Outlaw Run NV - El Loco NJ - El Toro NY - Jack Rabbit (Ride of Steel was closed at DL) NC - Carolina Cobra (...I guess) OH - Millennium Force (Maverick very close) OK - Silver Bullet (at Frontier City) OR - Ice Mountain Bobsled PA - Skyrush/Phoenix (Masterpieces in their own way) SC - Intimidator TN - Thunderhead TX - New Texas Giant (Iron Rattler is also insanely good!) VA - Intimidator 305 WA - Timberhawk: Ride of Prey And outside of the U.S. Canada - Coaster (at Playland) Mexico - Montana Rusa (at Mundo Divertido)

This. I get the feeling those of you saying Roar shouldn't have an inversion is because you haven't tried an RMC inversion yet. Definitely different! If your reasoning is that it would make it worse for families with little kids scared of loops... Sorry, this is gonna be the wrong coaster for those types of people. SFDK will have to get a family coaster for that. If your reasoning is you want a thrill ride without inversions... I don't think you'll be disappointed if Roar does have them and I think it will. Agreed! To add to this, it's not like the lack of inversions will magically give Roar a lower height requirement either. It's a weird thing to rally against here. I have full trust in whatever the mysterious coaster gods over at RMC will grant me for 2016!

Sorry to disappoint you guys, I just didn't like it! I had high hopes of liking it, I watched the Schilke interview where he talks about how comfortable and smooth it is, and with my single ride, I didn't find it to be that. The hard plastic seats with the ever-tightening restraints (similar to when a car seatbelt ratchets) against my collar bones made nearly the whole experience unenjoyable. It didn't help that my car was stuck on the brake run for no less than 10 minutes while the coaster broke down. I was stuck in those awful restraints much longer than I wanted. I was hoping this would be like an improved version of Green Lantern, but I was not impressed. The train ran smooth, but the flips didn't feel right to me, it was all very jerky and uncomfortable. The coaster was also constantly breaking down all day. It also had by far the longest line in the park. I just don't see it fitting in well at SFGAdv. I hate complaining about rides (I loved every other coaster at SFFT that wasn't a boomerang), but I really don't think this is a good coaster.
-
I hope that SFGAdv will not get one of these 4D coasters, the capacity is not very good. I also didn't really like the one at SFFT, I found it pretty uncomfortable, the vest restraints locked like the B&M wing coasters, but we're even more uncomfortable. If any park gets one of these, I hope it's a small park that hasn't gotten much lately. Maybe SFA or SFStl? SFM even? I don't know.

After 3 new RMC's, 2 new Shwarzkopf's, 5 new B&M's, and 26 other coasters, I ended my recent trip on Fiesta Express at Austin's Park N Pizza!! -

Or them not wanting to get electronic VR headsets wet? That brings up a good point, they might not be able to run a coaster with VR electronics in the rain... But who am I kidding, Cedar Point doesn't run coasters in the rain anyway! -
I am eagerly anticipating the announcement for Roar's upgrade and I had a thought; What if SFDK decided instead of theming Roar with the "upgraded-coaster" idea used on their 5 previous IBox projects? What if they decided to theme it to something unrelated entirely? With Roar's near proximity to Superman, SFDK could expand the DC theme from the single coaster to a whole area! How cool would it be if Roar was themed to a DC villian, Lex Luthor maybe? I think Roar would look really good with lime green track! Or maybe I'm just rambling... Anyway, we are less than a month away from the 2016 Six Flags announcement and I'm very excited for this park!
