  1. Row of people sitting in the front... and then each row slowly becomes a stand up. http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6840179-0-large.jpg
  2. ^ It's a suspended rollercoaster, similiar to Ninja, Iron Dragon, BBW but designed by Schwarzkopf. Basically in this picture, two cars swinging from a track inside a warehouse. This concept from Schwarzkopf never made it to the parks. If you link on the link, there's a description and another picture in case you need a better idea what it is or does.
  3. A funky Schwarzkopf coaster. http://schwarzkopf.coaster.net/ESflugbahnGF.htm http://schwarzkopf.coaster.net/ESflugbahnGF.htm
  4. That's insane, a rapid ride e-stopped? My question is, why didn't you take picture of this kid jumping in and all of that action?
  5. I'd throw in 2... Wild Thing at Valleyfair(!) - I remember back in 1996 this thing was a huge news. Everyone was so hyped up about it and the news, newspaper, ad, etc was talking about it. I even saved all newspaper clips, video, etc of it. When it finally opened, I was very disappointed. Very disappointed that I threw away all of Wild Thing stuff I saved. It just doesn't do for me. The turnaround was very weak. The "record breaking" long zero G hump after the lifthill was a lie. The only best part is bunny hops, that's it. Griffon at BGE - I was expecting a better layout. The media made this ride sounds exciting and I've heard positive things about Shekira. I promised myself that I will not take a peek at the layout before it opened to the public. The day I got to ride, I was like booooo! Drop, immelman, an immediate MCBR?? Hmm? There's a lot more to add but 2 is enough for now.
  6. When I was a teenager, I bought a souvenir book from SFGAM and took it to my high school to show it off. This guy bluntly told me that his dad is planning on taking him to Six Flags in Wisconsin. I politely broke the news that there is no such thing as Six Flags in Wisconsin and show him the back of the souvenir book, which shows list of existing Six Flags in the USA. He immediately pointed to Six Flags Over Texas and said... THAT ONE THAT ONE! *rolls eyes* I believe he meant Wisconsin Dells, which is a very popular vacation destination among Minnesotan. *shrugs*
  7. ^ I didn't realize it is still in USA. I wonder if they already added a belt or a lapbar. Hmm, can anyone verify?
  8. I remember during mid-90's, I went to the Adventureland in Altoona, IA and they had a rollercoaster called "Super Screamer." The train didn't have a belt or lapbar. Absolutely nothing and it terrified the *bleep* out of me. RCDB has pictures of the rollercoaster but no train, unfortunately. http://www.rcdb.com/ig216.htm It's perfectly understandable why they took this coaster out. Lawsuit waiting to happen!
  9. The last time I was in California was in 1999 and only been to Disneyland and SFMM. So here's my opinion... Worse: Superman: The Escape. Shoot out and back in. What's the point? Best: Riddler's Revenge. Excellent layout and length.
  10. SpongeBob SquarePants Rock Bottom Plunge on 5/24!
  11. That's an easy one! *drums rolls* SFDL - *Only when it was under Six Flags. This might change under the new ownership I would go there at least 5 times a year and they always, always, always run 1 train on S:ROS even though the wait was 45 minutes to a hour. They would close half of the park during the Fright Fest. That means no Mind Eraser... come on, they closed one of the "good" rides at the park every year? Silly if you ask me. They failed to add something major since after S:ROS was built. (Yay for new motocoaster under new ownership!) The environment was just basically a hickville. The campers near Twister and the go kart track is just a major eyesore. What's up with the pathway between Boomerang and the Twister? I never understand the purpose of that area and the gate seems strange sitting there unused. The lake in middle of the park has slowly became a malaria lake, pretty disgusting. The entrance for Viper is located on one side of the coaster. The exit is located on the other side. Talking about a long walk if you want to re-ride or need to meet with a non-rider in your party. Plain weird. Predator has basically dislocated my pancreas, enough said.
  12. Wow, just wow. If I were you or your brother, I would not let this parking security get away with this. If you've called public relations and the real head of security and they have not responded, I would call customer relations again. Also there is plenty of places on the Internet where you can put in your review (i.e. Look up SFAm in Google Map and there's an option to leave your comment/review). Just spread the words if Six Flags are not taking responsibility in this case.
  13. I do not care much about floorless. They're just... *shrugs* nothing to me. But I really like floorless on B&M dive machine since they provide every row view on top of the drop.
  14. Yes, they do be very clear and communicate in advance. They really need to be clear. I mean REALLY CLEAR. Imagine all the money spent in effort to communicate clearly to the general public. Might not be worth it. As I said, a good business practice is to allow business enter the park early and stay after closing. That will guarantee ERT like I got some at Wet n' Wild without interfering with general public's plan.
  15. This is a bad business practice. A VERY bad business practice. A friend of mine who lived about 3 hours away from King's Dominion and last fall he drove all the way to King's Dominion and was turned away. Why? Because some company reserved the entire park. He was so angry at them that he refused to buy a season pass. He was a season pass holder for 5+ year and after what happened, he was like screw them. It is perfectly understandable this is partially his fault because he didn't check the park's calendar online. But come on, he drove 3 hours and was turned away!? I had a similar experience at SFDL 5+ years ago. They DID put up their opening hour on their website and we DID checked. We drove 40 minutes only to find out it was closed. Closed along with 50+ cars waiting at the parking lot gate, angry, yelling, and horn honking. We were turned away when they were supposed to be open. That was the last time I renewed my season pass with them and they certainly have gone downhill. (but uphill with new management, hopefully!) I disagree with some of response in this thread. This is not a form of discrimination. Just a form of AWFUL business practice. EDIT: I thought I'd share a GOOD business practice. I used to work for Department of Navy in Florida and they rented the entire park of Wet n' Wild. They were not allowed to have the park to themselves during regular business hours, but they were allowed to enter early and stay up to 2 hours after closing. That is a GOOD business practice.
  16. Great pictures! Although, this one caught my attention... how steep are those waterslides on upper right? Seems unrealistically-insanely steep! Or maybe it is just an angle of the camera?
  17. That's great! Now we can surf more realistically.
  18. I have to comment on your pictures. You have an unique way of capturing life on a camera. You have a talent and keep it up!
  19. I have two... Ultra Twister - I missed the chance of riding UltraTwister at Astroworld. I was 16 that time and was with my friend's family. They absolutely refused to let me ride it because it had 45 minutes wait. I look back to that day and I deeply regret not riding it. Hypersonic XLC - That $@$# Hypersonic XLC!!! I was in the line for two hours in a blistering heat. There was too many gangsters and trailer trashes and eventually park security and police had to deal with them. Eventually they have had it and closed the ride and kicked them out including us. Aggravating, which we vow never to visit that park for a good while.
  20. My 2008 Plan Confirmed Hopi Hari - Brazil (March) Nick Universe @ MOA (May) Unconfirmed King's Dominion* Busch Gardens Europe* Hard Rock Park Typhoon Lagoon * I live less than a hour away and have no interest in going unless we have a guest who wants to go there.
  21. Since coolers are not allowed in the park, simply cram as much food as possible in your backpack and bring it in the park. Also do not play any games which includes carnival-type games and arcades. Who cares about giant stuffed apes, seriously? Get to the park early as possible and ride as MUCH as you can. For example, if park cost 50 dollars to get in... ride 50 rides or more. That's $1 per ride or less. Best money saver is go on a slow day, enough said. If you absolutely must have at least one souvenir, then buy something non-perishable and that will not wear out or break (candies with logo on it, t-shirt/clothes, glasses). Best deal is refrigerator magnets that does not cost more than 3 dollars.
  22. $9.95 admission for King's Dominion in 1979?!
  23. Just paint it green and name it Raptor. A lot easier than figuring out a good jet related name. Simple solution.
  24. I have 2 home parks, they are... BGE - Apollo's Chariot KD - Volcano If I can include my previous home park in this thread, that'd be Valleyfair and Park @ MOA. Valleyfair! - Steel Venom Park @ MOA - Timerland Twister (now fairly odd coaster)
  25. Looks FANTASTIC!!! Since my family is from Minnesota, I am going to book a flight sometime in June just to ride Spongebob! By the way, how will they get that yellow crane out of there?
