  1. It finally worked! Appears like unzipping doesn't work well on Mac and Vista. It works flawlessly on XP. Thanks Robb and Elissa for this video!
  2. I tried downloading it 3x and keep on getting corrupted error message. So I switched to XP and got "Access Denied" and then I went back to the store to re-request the link and now it isn't in the stock. Hmm...
  3. That's strange. I was expecting college-age folks but they all are older... weird. I wonder what kind of pay and benefit they are getting.
  4. ^^ Avalanche at KD? That's another thing that annoys me. Why can't it open when the park opens? It has potential drawing some crowds from Volcano so... yeah. ^ BGE was already busy and the rope was already crowded waiting to open the rest of the park. And also they should have warned guests in advance so they wont waste their time and energy by walking up to the bridge only finding out they could have spent time riding Apollo's Chariot.
  5. When the park opens at 10:00 AM... open the damn WHOLE park. Last time I went to BGE, I arrived at 10:00 AM exactly and wanting to walk over to Alpengeist only to find the back half of the park closed until 11:00 AM. Aggrevating! BGE is an excellent park but this? Come on, seriously if the park opens at 10:00 means 10:00! Edit: I just realized something. After reading the chinese trip reports, I'm so glad we don't live in China when rides opens at 1:00 PM or so.
  6. Paying $15 for parking when the parking lot is poorly paved without trams. $10 for parking at Busch Gardens includes wonderfully paved parking lot with trams! Parks that don't prepare themselves for ride downtimes. They do not have extra spare parts in their warehouse so they have to order it from manufacturers, which causes week-long downtime. Suppose there are four seats per row. Row #2 have 2 people and row #3 have two people... why can't they just ride together to save someone else's time.
  7. ^ Like I said, I might just got lucky in 1980's.
  8. * 1.5 hour minimum wait for Magnum @ CP in 1989. If you got on in less than 45 minutes the first three years this coaster was open, consider yourself lucky! * 2 hour line for White Water Canyon @ CW when it opened in 1984. * 1.5 hour wait for a back seat ride on 'The Beast' @ KI in 1987. * 1 hour wait for Skyrider @ CW in 1985. * 1 hour wait for Vortex @ KI in 1987. Just to name a few.... Believe me, I have been riding coasters and going to parks for many, many years. I am sure that there are other "geezers" on this site like me that can attest - there have ALWAYS been lines and there ALWAYS will be lines...especially for the new rides. Ok. I have never been to those parks in 1980s. I've been going to Valleyfair, Adventureland, SFGam during those times and lines rarely exceeded 30+ long. Maybe I just got lucky during 1980's. Anyway, my point is I really wish parks would crack down on long lines. They could get rid of fastpass system. Train ride ops to move quickly as possible, make them motivated, invest in higher capacity rides, add more shows and exhibits, etc.
  9. Is this a joke? Obviously being 20 I didn't visit many parks in the 80s, but my parents did long before that and there were always lines. Nope, not a joke.
  10. Not sure what you mean but to elaborate my point. I find Superman, Batman, Mr. Freeze, Bug Bunny, Daffy Duck, etc and all rides named after them very tacky and repetitive. I frown upon parks that drop their original characters for commercialized characters. Example of parks that still use their original characters are Disney's. Even they still create new characters rather than hiring characters from elsewhere like Six Flags does.
  11. 1. Large lines (30+ minutes long). I remember during 1980's, the lines are almost never that bad. I could get 10+ rides on a same coasters within a hour. Unfortunately, today it is just bad. 2. QBot, Flashpass, etc. Basic kindergarten rules: Do not butt. This also contribute to larger lines! (I'll probably get flamed over this suggestion *shrugs*) 3. Get rid of bug bunny, marvel characters, tony hawks, etc. We need more original characters like former SFMM's trolls.
  12. I am very surprised that Disney is winning in this poll. Disney is prohibitively expensive and not very accommodative for people with disability like me. Of course their theme is good but most of their rides are just blah. Busch is a LOT cheaper and accommodates well for those with disabilities. Their rides are hardcore and theme is well done and hey, some Busch parks provides free beer! So that's a plus!
  13. The Tassie's Twisters at Aquatica. It took us a while to figure out that we had to ride the lazy river to get to the Tassie's Twisters. The line was amazingly long that it overflowed down the stairs into the lazy river and then through the fish grotto and ended up right in the front of lazy river entrance.
  14. I'd say... Verizon commericals. They're full of craps and lies. I signed up for Verizon service two years ago and deeply regretted it. They said they're the most reliable network... *coughs*... they could not tell me why I am getting such a low upload speed on their EVDO aircard. It was supposed to be around 150 kbps u/l but I got like 30 kbps. Yes, I am well within EVDO coverage, which got them scratching their head. And also their customer service is beyond terrible. After I could not get answer on why I am getting such a low u/l speed, I decided to return it within my 14 days trial period. *SIGHS*.... they billed me for next 8 months and threatened to send my name to credit bureau. Every time I get bills, I call them asking why they sent me it when I should be owing nothing. Their answer would be, oh it's just a mistake blah blah blah. After so much stress and aggravation with Verizon, the situation has finally been resolved. I vow myself NEVER never ever sign up for Verizon again. Ever! So everytime I see that Verizon commerical, I cringe.
  15. This is a great direction for BGE! The only thing that bothers me is why New York City theme added to Europe themed park? But ok, whatever works.
  16. I was thinking the very same thing. Not reducing the capacity but why are they choosing this design? I think 4 seat across is better looking than "triangle" design. Also I was wondering why can't they add a seat between 2 seats in the back row of a car. This has been bothering me since Behemoth was introduced.
  17. I've never seen something like this before. Pretty funky. http://www.rcdb.com/id3388.htm
  18. I was there yesterday and I notice the very same thing. The employees were nice and more into their job serving guests than last year. Last year was simply horrible that I promised myself that I will never go there again. Then luckily, we received free tickets so I thought... why not since it's free. So we went and I've completely changed my mind and attitude toward King's Dominion. Cedar Fair definitely improved the park dramatically. Btw, Dominator was opened all day yesterday (Saturday Aug 2).
  19. So rides without chain lifts aren't coasters? Sorry, I should have elaborate a bit on this. One of the pictures has a chain lift so it makes it more obvious that it should be considered as a roller coaster. Yes, I still count LIM, Flywheels, etc.
  20. It has a chain lift. It is powered by gravity. so YEP! It is a roller coaster. You should contact RCDB to get this added if it isn't listed.
  21. It doesn't appear for me too. I assumed it was from firewall at my work. Will have to check when I get home. I totally love the station!
  22. How about this? A stand up, inverted, spinning rollercoaster! Now thats weird!
  23. To me, it appears like they were warned. Look at the swings, the seats are chained up. The mini-skyscrapers are parked upward. And the bumper car area does not have cars in it. The drapes are tied up. Maybe they did all of this after the water came in?
  24. The Gao at Mitsui Greenland is pretty weird with all of the structures. http://www.rcdb.com/id1212.htm
  25. Before I rode Millennium Force for the first time, I was shaky before the station... after I got off, I got this buzz-like effect. It was awesome!
