  1. I've got stuck twice. Once was on Raptor, which was only like 5 seconds. We were just starting our lift and it "hiccuped." It came to complete stop and it yanked us up. I don't think this is considered as "stuck"... just a "hiccup." lol! Then again we got stopped on the lifthill on SROS at Darien Lake. It was at very end of the day during a fight fest and the park was very dead. Ride staff sent us around the circuit four times non-stop without stopping in the station! The ride ops purposefully stopped us on the lift hill and all of the staff looked up and laughed at us, pretending to leave for home. Well, in both situation, we weren't exactly stuck, but hey we stopped.
  2. Curious. Mystery Mine gets replaced by a Euro Fighter coaster. Another Euro fighter coaster, made by the same company, is called Mystery Mine at another park. Somehow, this all traces back to Kevin Bacon. LOL! When I first read Looty's post, I had to think twice and hard. It's mind boggling how everything is related and easily confused. Maybe we should change Mystery Mine to simply Motion Stimulator before we ended up by Kevin Bacon. Quite possibility but it looks awfully small. Maybe a quick pop of airtime that's barely noticeable but hey, lets wait and see until we ride it!
  3. I was thinking the same thing, plus cover the ground with real sand. That'd be awesome theming!
  4. bdstrom, that would be an "Immelmann." That isn't immelman. Immelman is a half loop and then into half corkscrew. Found mostly on B&M. But whatever that thing is called, heck, it's cool! Overbanked turn sounds like an appropriate name for this element.
  5. ^ Now that is what we need to see! That "inverted horseshoe thingie" is starting to shape up. Thank you for your contribution, Looty!
  6. ^ Nope! Looks like there was no problem at all. Hopefully they can move the camera to the right just a bit.
  7. Since nobody posted webcam-of-the-day picture, I'll take the honor. Notice several new supports and yellow beams on the ground.
  8. That depends on what you mean by "addition." I'd say King's Dominion's reduced admission price for 2007. That attracted so many trailer trashes and low income creatures. Exactly why I could NOT ride Hypersonic XLC this summer, just too many of them in the line. Now Hypersonic might go away without adding this credit to my list.
  9. King's Dominion - Declutter everything - Make park look cleaner - Re-pave the parking lot - Get rid of trailer trashes Busch Gardens Europe - Wider path and bridges - Make foreign employees more politer - Add more animals - Add complementary house like one at BGA Busch Gardens Africa - Fix Gwazi - Simplify the pathway - Find a way to expand - More shades Cedar Point - Attract less people - Make rides more reliable - Make food more cheaper - Plant more trees Darien Lake - Run 2 trains on ROS all the times - Demolish Predator - Move Mind Eraser closer to the park - Add something to the back of the park Valleyfair - Add a B&M coaster - Get rid of Excalibur - Expand water park - Turn off brake on Wild Thing Park @ MOA - Reduce season pass price - Make Orange Streak more exciting - Change Eurofighter's name & theme - Build a drop tower Universal Orlando - IOA: Add something major (Not HP!) - Get rid of people selling credit cards - CityWalk-only customers park for free - Find a land to expand Six Flags Great America - Better crowd control in Viper station - Redesign Raging Bull - Paint B:TR black - Replace Iron Wolf Magic Mountain - Remove OTSR from Revolution - Add grass under Scream - Colossus to race all the times - Keep the tower open all the times
  10. That is it! I must convince my wife's relative to take us there! We're going to Rio and Sao Paulo this February and some of wife's relatives do not live too far from Hopi Hari! *spins in excitement!* I think I'll send them a link to this thread and say PLEAAASSEEEE! Keep it up and looking forward to more of pictures.
  11. My vote is NO. The reason is Nicholas Cage is probably one of the ugliest actor I've known and he can't act, period. I'd go with High School High Musical: The Ride over Nicholas Cage's ride!
  12. ^ The Black Hole Hey, when I used to live in Minnesota, my family would take us to that water park (or should I say ski slope?) almost every summer. The Black Hole is the only slide there I would go on again and again! We would try and hydroplane on that pool of water with our feet only. My friend hurt his back really bad. Ahh the memories!
  13. 1.) Corkscrew - Found everywhere 2.) Underground at Adventureland 3.) Any superhero coasters - Batman, Superman, etc. 4.) Millennium Force - very lame name for such a good coaster 5.) Wild Thing - Yes, it's wild and it's a thing but come on 6.) Sky Princess at Dutch Wonderland 7.) Jackrabbit - I don't get why people would name coaster Jackrabbit? 8.) Racers - Geez, how unoriginal 9.) That Spongebob Squarepants coaster coming to MOA. 10.) Any coasters named after movie is very tacky - Example: Top Gun.
  14. To me, wooden coaster is a wooden coaster. *shrugs* Not a big fan of it. It would make sense if park decides to add inverted, stand up, hyper, or any coaster that they do not have rather than adding another wooden coaster.
  15. I dont get it when parks build another wooden roller coasters when they already have one in the first place. I.E. Valleyfair got Renegade when they already have High Roller. King's Island built Son of Beast and The Beast when they already have racer. Etc, etc, etc. It is just so wrong. It does not add variety to the park and it wastes trees too.
  16. 1.) BGE - why are the pathway so narrow? I get so claustrophobic during busy day that I just want to start pushing and scream at people at BGE! 2.) B&M coasters that do not go all the way to the ground. I.E. Shekira turn just after immelman is well 20-30 feet off the ground. Griffon does not swoop near ground after immelman and 2nd immelman does not go all the way down the ravine. I personally think that they're waste of space and do not provide the thrill of near miss with the ground. 3.) The food service at most parks sucks. The food quality is crappy and it is way too expensive. Also it takes a long wait to get them! 4.) Why can't rides run at full capacity at all the times? That shows the maintenance fails guests.
  17. Couple of weeks ago it was my first time at King's Dominion. We waited for 2 hours to ride Hypersonic XLC. This is what we experienced while in the line... - Extremely hot - Too many bling blings among us - Drunk couple bothering other people in the line - At least 5 parties cut the line - The line moved slower than a snail - There was trash everywhere - People around us reeked badly It was so AGGRAVATING! Result: I never got to ride. They decided to shut down the ride for unknown reason just before it was our turn to ride. I shared this story with one of my friends who is a season holder for many years and he didn't believe me. Recently he went there last weekend and he text messaged me and informed me that he will NOT renew his season pass for this exactly reason. Just wow... King's Dominion really need to act up!
  18. It broke down while I was on it. Mechanics came and they fixed it within 10 minutes.
  19. Yes, it's open! I rode it three times yesterday and what a rush!
  20. Any ride ops that use their feet to push down lapbars! Happened to me twice and it was incredibly painful! Especially during your gas episode like I had when I was on the Mighty Canadian Minebuster. In fact it had really pissed me off that I almost wanted to run to the ride op and punch him in the face after I got off the ride. But of course, I have enough self-control. If any of you becomes a ride op, never never never NEVER use your feet to check people's lapbar! It's impolite and I meant it!
  21. Apollo's Chariot on 9/23/06 in the dark. Two thumbs up (I could give a 3rd thumb up if I had one!)
  22. At first I thought of Master Blaster. Then you mentioned a tornado slide. Then it dawned on me that they have Disco H2O (pic below). Since they said it'll be the greatest ride in Wet n' Wild history, then it has to be better than Disco H2O! Unless they're lying. Disco H2O
  23. Whoa, I am feeling very lucky at this moment because I got to ride it once. I loved this ride... right now I'm having a flashback of me riding it with my buddy. *sighs* good times! I am not exactly surprised that they're removing this ride... the line can be pretty nasty and there are plenty of people who do not understand the law of physics. As I stood in the line, I could see plenty of people struggling to make it swing while both sides are spraying waters. Hmm, we'll see about that. R.I.P. Hydra Fighter
  24. Busch Gardens Europe TR – 9/23/06 Sorry, I didn’t take pictures at all. 4 months after moving to VA, I finally cleared my schedule so I could visit BGE for the first time and ended up loving this park to death! Loch Ness Monster – 4/5 25 years of watching this coaster on TV and Video and I said to myself… one day, just one day I’ll get my chance to ride this monster! Remember 25 years ago we didn’t have B&M and modern Intamin coasters. Arrow was a big thing back then. Finally rode this sucker and it was actually pretty good! It was a walk-on pretty much all day. Apollo’s Chariot – 5/5 Apollo’s Chariot shocked me. It was actually GREAT! The only B&M hyper I rode was Raging Bull and it failed to impress me. Before I rode Apollo, I assume it would be similar to Raging Bull but I was completely wrong. The airtime was perfect and the pace on this coaster is great! The line was about 10-20 minutes wait. Big Bad Wolf – 4/5 Similar to Loch Ness Monster, I watched this over again and again on video and said to myself… one day, just one day I’ll ride this sucker. I finally rode this sucker and it was good. Not WOW but really good. The line was approx 20 to 30 minutes long. Alpengeist – 3/5 ………………… Is this some kind of cruel joke? I don’t want to offend anyone but Alpengeist is the easily the worst B&M inverted I ever ridden. When I got into the line, I went straight to the back row because I am a sucker for B&M’s whip when leaving the lifthill on inverted coasters. I waited 45 minutes because it broke down and they were doing some nonsense things such as dispatching empty trains 50 times while mechanics were looking at something behind the control board. Got on the 1st train after they reopened it and ended up getting stuck on the lifthill for 10 minutes. To my deep disappointment, there was no whipping action on top of the lifthill… absolutely none at all. I felt brake holding, the train crawled over the lifthill. Very disappointing! The cobra roll had a hardcore whipping action and that was the best part! After the MCBR… the train crawled through inversions and a helix. Is that all? What happened to a good strong finale? Later during the day, I had to ride Alpengeist again to see if I am missing anything but my opinion still did not change. Easily two thumbs down. Park in General – 4.5/5 This park kicks Cedar Fair, Paramount (currently CF), and Six Flags butt. They really took some time focusing on scenery and buildings in Italy, France, Ireland, and England is simply stunning. Also Curse of the DarKastle was great! Only disappointment I had (other than Alpengeist), I couldn’t find that complimentary house like BGA has. Do they have one at all?
  25. After 25 years of coaster rides and 135+ coaster credits, I finally got stuck on Alpengeist's lifthill last saturday for 10 minutes. That day was my first time at Busch Gardens Europe and I am sorry to say that Alpengeist was surprisely bad.
