  1. ^I knew about it but had other plans that would've prevented me from going. Club TPR was actually one of the clubs you could be a part of to go to that event. It is a shame cause it sounded like a great day of activities. I wonder if the price had something to do with it? I think one thing they could've done to get the word out was promote it better...there was only a small blurb at the bottom of their main page promoting it. Had they perhaps had a bigger banner for it, maybe more people would be interested. I still think that cost of the event + Club membership may have thrown some people off, even though as long as you were a memeber on CWMania then you were eligable to go as well.
  2. How does that work in terms of trademarks? Since Cedar Fair trademarked "Stratasoar" ( http://i.pointbuzz.com/stratosoar.pdf ), and own's both parks in US & Canada, do they need to do anything within Canada alone to get permission to use that name? I am not sure how it works when a corporation operates both in US & Canada with regards to trademarks.
  3. I am thinking that IF we are getting a rumored "Stratasoar" skyflyers that the name along with the artical posted in this thread ( http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=28853&start=7330 ) seem to indicate a height of around 400ft. Hyper = 200ft, Giga = 300ft and Strata = 400ft when it's been related to previous rides Cedar Fair have build, so one could only assume that it may play a part into the height questions for the new "Stratasoar".
  4. ^It's always one of the better Haunts at Wonderland. I am sure Club Blood will be back as well as that was a hit last year. I really hope that silly fair tale one is gone...it was good the first year but last year they just seemed to not even bother with scares inside...it was pretty bad. Wonderland needs to take the step to the next level and really start putting good scares in their haunts, last year all I can remember is walking like 20 ft and seeing security which really kills the theme...sure put them in there, but hide them so we can lose ourselves in the theming. I think I may skip this year as well as the haunts have been mostly the same over the past couple of years and it's not worth it if you know what scare is coming up next.
  5. Ya, i was told on Xcelerator and Pony Express that they weren't allowed, even with the straps...I mean not much I can do clearly, still enjoyed my time, just a weird policy.
  6. Hmmm, that may be the case about the glasses...yet one would think that if a luanch coaster at Knotts, even as slow as Pony Express, and one at Disney (California Screamin') would have similar restrictions about loose articals? It was all very odd if you ask me, and just like the other poster, I've been on rides like TTD and perfectly fine as long as you have a strap.
  7. Sorry if this has been mentioned before, just at work and can't really search the entire thread, but I did have a question. I was there on July 4th for the first time, loved the park, but they had a no glasses policy on Xcellarator and aparantly on Pony Express and I was just curious as to why? Other Cedar Fair parks I've been to, Canadas Wonderland, Cedar Point, all allow glasses as long as you have a strap on them (which I did at Knotts), but for whatever reason, Knotts just wouldn't allow them. It sucked because we had not planned on going that day as it was our first day of the trip and the 4th of July, wanted to avoid crowds, so I had to buy a strap for that sole purpose only to find out I couldn't even benifit from it on those two rides. Silver Bullet, Sierra Sidewinder, Ghostrider, no problem, but their launch coasters they just wouldn't allow it. Any thoughts on the issue?
  8. Are you using a Sony TX series cam for photos? I ask cause of the Panorama shots...they look great.
  9. I am not going to chime in too much on this whole world vs land discussing but I think if vacationers do proper research they are clearly going to be able to access the information showing the map from USO and that this is a section of the park rather then a park itself. Yes, I do agree some press has been placing the wrong words in articals but the traveller and park guest has to be responsible enough to get all the information prior to booking. Now, back to the new video that shows a little bit of the new ride, anyone else notice that there are no tracks? Could that perhaps have been a test seat prior to bording or do we think this will be a trackless style of system much like TOT?
  10. Awesome TR...I am sure the Transformers ride will be a great addition to the park...I wonder if there will be a part where you spin around an entire scene in circles for 2 minutes...that would really add to the Michael Bay experience...Or perhaps just 2 minutes of Megan Fox is daisy dukes.
  11. Very nice photos so far...look forward to more...I myself am heading down to Nj mainly for SDGADV in July and hope to stop by the shore...Wonder if we can run into the Situation or Snookie
  12. I gotta wonder if it's just the attachment to Harry Potter people are having the issue with or the whole wizard theme... Dont' get me wrong, I am sad to see the original themeing go as well, even though I've never been there to experience it (always wanted to), however I am also very excited for where they are going to take it. I am sure a lot of the queue is empty and "bare" right now until they do the 100% full switch over to Dragon Challenge...they can't put out all the themeing yet as the whole section of the park is not opening yet right? EIther way, I remain very optimistic that when all is said and done, this area will shine to the majority of park guests...Cannot wait.
  13. I can't wait to see if you had the Baconator or not...it is to die for...or is it from...either way itès delicious.
  14. The video from Today's Ellen show is now online. http://ellen.warnerbros.com/ It show's some great shots of the area and part of the line in Hogwarts itself. Cannot wait.
  15. So the Dumbledore part where he's talking to you in his office sounds like the same tech behind Christopher Walken on disater...I can be down with that. Mentioned in another report was a comment from Mark Woodbury, president of Universal Creative, in regards to whether or not the ride travels outside the show bulding, "very hard time distinguishing between what is actually outside and what is not." Now I know a while back people were speculating about the courtyard area on top of the show bulding/castle and I wonder if that comment has anything to do with that? I can definitly say, Potter fan or not (which I am a Potter fan btw), fans of the themepark industry have to be very excited for the tech that will be pushing this ride. *crosses fingers* See you in July Hogwarts!
  16. Looks great...I do wonder though, how come the second drop is shorter then the first? I've wondered that from day one. I know that higher drop doesn't always mean bigger splash or anything, but to get the big drop out of the way first seems backwards from most Shoot the Rapid type rides...If I am wrong by all means say so, just an observation I made.
  17. Best night rides for myself would be Beast and KI as well as Vortex & Behemoth at Canada's Wonderland.
  18. 12 to go...come on, there's gotta be more people out there. Yes, I am anxious for the DVD goodness as well. Update: 3 to go....
  19. Just started following...cannot wait to see TPR...Twitter Style!
  20. Downloading now, will watch later...Thanks for the great deal...Even for us Canadians...I love Black Friday!!!
  21. THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!! sorry had to... I cannot wait for this...every update I get more and more excited...and ya, even if it's a bunch of stores and one new ride, isn't it about being in the world? Awesome pics, can't wait to see more.
  22. As always, thanks for the coverage Robb...looks like a great time down there...Should we be expecting some footage as well at some point?
  23. Don't know if it's been said before, but I could for sure see one good point for not opening HRRR...it's a distraction...with their scarezones and what not how would it be atmospheric to have a coaster car with bright colored lights zoom by and distract from the scares...
