  1. Amazing pictures....I hope more parks hold events like this...looks like a blast.
  2. Hmmm, that would indeed be different....I think I may look into that...I cannot wait...I've been looking forward to Vegas for years now and finally I get to experience it.... Plus we're adding on 2.5days in Cali during the middle to check out USH and maybe Disney/SFMM...not sure yet.
  3. Great TR ... I am making my first trip down to Sin City at the end of June, hitting up Cali (USH and maybe SFMM) then coming back for a cpl more days in Vegas and I tell you, I cannot wait. Mesa Grill is definitly something I am tempting to try...any other suggestions? Both Casual or a little more fine dining? Also, what would be your number 1 MUST DO in Vegas other then coasters/gambling?
  4. Looking at the picture of the kid being pulled around brought back memories. They used to do that up here at Canada's Wonderland, and one year I was lucky enough to be that kid. I think about 2 years after I did that they stopped... Great pics as always though.
  5. I was really hoping for a comparison between Behemoth and DB...glad you noted that...I am still looking forward to getting on DB one day however, for now, I'll sleep a little easier knowing someone prefered Behemoth over this. hehe..
  6. Not sure if everyone was able to catch it or not, but last nights episode of Flashpoint (a new Canadian swat team type show that apparently is getting big numbers in the US as well) featured a storyline where two parents kidnapped their child which had just been given up for adoption and took the baby to an amusement park in the dead of winter. The park was Canada's Wonderland, which was renamed to "Great North Adventureland" or something like that. There was several shots on the Merry Go Round but the pinnacle was a tense showdown on the lift stairs of Flight Deck (formally Top Gun)... For those who haven't seen it or haven't watched it yet, I will not spoil the ending, however, for anyone looking to see any off season park footage or whatnot, you should check out this episode. It's Season 3 Episode 9 for those who want to hunt it down...I belive www.ctv.ca would have it streaming on their site. ( http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/show/CTVShows/20071221/home-sniper/20090406/ ) is the exact link. Enjoy everyone ** Thanks to whoever moved this, didn't notice this thread **
  7. Great pics, thanks for the update. I wonder when we'll actually here more concrete details about attractions/shops/etc that will be in the new Potter area.
  8. I just keep thinking of Brad Pitt's famous line from Seven..."What's in the box? What's in the box?". lol
  9. I remember talking to you at Behemoth Bash in regards to your day job and I gotta admit, I am extremely happy for you. I remember back in the day playing the original...if I am not mistaken I had my parents by it for me back in the day...it is definitely nice to see someone revisit this series...never thought I'd see this game revisited ever again. The art design and animation is very well done. It's great to see developers going back to 2D...gotta admit, I miss a good 2D side scroller. Well done Robb, I look forward to playing this when it comes out. - Josh
  10. It kind of sounds close...maybe a bit more. In terms of the speed...I remember watching the test runs for Behemoth when they first started and from when it tested to when it was opened to the public...the speeds were definitly different...from the video it looks like none of the trips nor mcbr were on...so, I would take the video as an example...albeit it a great one. I think both Diamondback and Behemoth are two of the best layouts B&M have produced...not trying to spark a debate though, just my two cents. Cannot wait to get down to Ohio again this summer...it looks to be another great summer... Ohio, Vegas, Cali (Universal and MAYBE Magic Mountain)...so it should be great.
  11. Is there any news of what exactly they are building? When it will open? etc? I ask as I am going down there at the end of June for the first time and am real curious.
  12. I will be honest, I am not sure if this has been posted or not...or if anyone can translate but I found this to be quite interesting. When surfing the Deustch version of the Coastersandmore.de newsletter...they have a section talking about the Robocoaster...and in one of the paragraphs this is written: (http://www.coastersandmore.de/rides/eas2008/eas2008_2.php) "Eine weitere Ergänzung wurde auf der IAAPA 2004 in Orlando zusammen mit der kanadischen Amec (heute Dynamic Structures) präsentiert, bei der ein Roboterarm auf einem schienengebundenen Fahrzeug montiert ist. Der erste Kunde ist Universal´s Islands of Adventure in Orlando, wo die fahrenden Roboterarme als Ridesystem für den Harry Potter Ride dienen werden. Im Gegensatz zu der Präsentation auf der IAAPA wird die Schiene jedoch nur horizontal in zwei statt in drei Dimensionen gebogen sein. Eine achterbahnähnliche Grunddynamik ist daher nicht zu erwarten." Now, I've tried some online translators but to no avail...however I see them talking about the Harry Potter Ride...also a link to this story "http://www.coastersandmore.de/rides/harrypotter/harrypotter.shtml" Anyone able to figure out what they are saying there?
  13. I have a feeling the dragons will come back...albeit not the same ones, but ones more related to Harry Potter... I think the Chinese Fireball would be a shoe in... I think something like this would work and not lose the theme of the ride.
  14. UPDATED OCT 12 - Fixed the one repeat question i had... ------- Hey everyone...I just created what is going to be my first quiz on Buzz Quiz TV for the PS3. I would love everyone on here who has the game to look it up and try it out...feedback is great as well. If this goes well I am going to try to do a quiz specific to individual parks, types of rides, history, etc. The quiz is under the "Lifestyle" "Other" category and is called Roller Coaster Trivia. My PS3 name is " torontojosh " so feel free to seach me out and add me as a friend if you're interested as well. Good luck and I look forward to your replies.
  15. I am sure you can bet on all the coasters being open... Who knows for sure, but I am sure most will be open.
  16. Decided to take a chance and head to Wonderland today despite weather reports...good choice as many people who were worried about a storm coming obviously stayed home...park was dead. Let's just say Behemoth was a 5min wait. 10-15 for the front or back. Here's some random shots and warning, there are some spoilers of mazes. The setup for The Asylum has already been put up. Here's a couple pics of the entrance to Medival Fare The sign for "Dead Awakening" is up and I really hope this show doesn't fail...I would love a good adult oriented show. Not sure which maze this will be if it's Red Beards or something else...it's back at the path to Splash Works. Here's Miners Revent and/or Slaughter Mill Clowns at Midnight My "artsy" shot... Haunt car images. Should be a good time this year...hope there is more fog and less lights this year compared to last.
  17. I was wondering as well for those that just rode Behemoth for the first time, what did you all think?
  18. Here are the rest as promised... Beginning of the walkback... I really do love this ride.. Train full of happy riders coming back after the helix... A great ride to take photos of. More helix action. Ahhh, finally, the infamous 3 coasters going at once shot!!! Nice shot of the first drop. Damn, that really does get close to the ground...Take that Kings Island's Diamondback!!! More first drop goodness. On the way back over the water. The wicked turnaround. TPR crew finishing up the walkback. I just want to say thanks again to all of those who helped put together such a great event...I hope you all enjoy the photos as well...
  19. Here are some random shots from the day... What we were all here for... Getting ready for the first ride of the day!!! The TPR Crew getting their day started off with a bang. Gotta love Riptide eh Dan? Had to get involved in some TPR goofiness. Me being goofy... MMMmmm Vortex!!! Prepare to get wet! Wonderland did a great job welcoming us. Why are we all gathered here like this you might ask??? One word: FOOD!!! Sledgehammer....Meh... I will post the rest of the pictures when I get home from work tonight.
  20. I love how the garbage can is in mid topple state.... In case anyone who didn't go was curious what caused Dan to receive this wet hug...here ya go....I have never seen the water this high before on Riptide (Cliffhanger)
  21. I had asked what ride or attraction they were most happy to see go and most happy to see arrive... They both agreed that Behemoth is their best to arrive and Boom Boats are the best to have been taken out. I will have to post pics tomorrow, just having some PC problems...but they will be up tomorrow night...
