  1. I dunno why, but i felt absolutely nothing on that side. I personally prefer KD's drop tower.
  2. I wanna see the new monorail stations, good luck making them look good.
  3. ^ with your family that is probably a good decision. ^^^^ Pretty much the only thing that closes in light rain is ricochet because is has to, I dont know the exact reasons why, but it has to do with manufacturer policies.
  4. ^ while chances are that this is VERY true. I have talked to the area supervisor for my area at carowinds. Afterburn, Southern Star, Thunder road, ect. and he was saying he wants both of them run at all times, racing no matter what, so... we will just have to wait and see. He had also said the reason for facing them forwards was because they were putting excessive stress on the track.
  5. Umm... Other than the coke promotion, I dont know of any other discounts ^^ Not always, thats what everyone does, Ive managed to walk onto Nighthawk around 12-2, but it can vary. It would be best to check the line throughout the day, or just bum rush it first, either way works really.
  6. Rain policy... What rain policy?? Honestly, unless its a total downpour, the rides should stay open, I know there are specifics for certain rides, IE, the yo-yo closes when the wind is too high, and Scooby doo's haunted mansion generally stays open all the time, same for Action theatre. Ricochet closes with the slightest drop of rain tho. As for best seats. Hurler, Your on your own there... sorry Afterburn, front if you want a ride with the best view, back if you want a ride that throws you around a bit more. Nighthawk, the row doesnt really make much of a difference view wise, and they assign you a row anyways. Cyclone, Back, you get a nice little pop of airtime on the first drop.
  7. two years ago. When was the last time you got stuck behind a driver doing 20 below the speed limit?
  8. I have also seen this problem quite a lot. I do like one policy I saw being utilized at BGE, My brother and I were in line for Griffon, and he needed to use the restroom. So me knowing the rules about line jumping, told him to ask one of the employees about using the restroom. They Op standing at the entrance gave him a card that stated that he was in fact in line for Griffon (sort of like a bathroom pass) which gave my brother proof that he was in line.
  9. Seriously..... uhm, never?? Bad enough to leave a scar, two months ago ?
  10. ^ Nice I'm a Ride Op for Afterburn this year
  11. 1. Having a showcase of the best and most current forums is always nice to have 2. Umm... Probably "whats new" seeing as I have never used it before 3. Not for me! 4. Until I see updates I have seen previously 5. Every time I visit (multiple times a day) 6. Never... 7. Not sure, I like it the way it is 8. Nada
  12. This happened about 2 months ago, but I was walking in my neighborhood with my friend and I was dragging a stick behind me (i dunno why >.<) I swung it around me so it was in front of me, and it caught the one crack in the pavement, so essentially i stabbed myself in the gut, it left a deep gash about 5 inches long. 1 Inch of it scarred >.>
  13. ^ The three times I have been to KD I have always seen a line for drop zone (except in the mornings of course) so i dont know what your saying with that, I can see it being a waste at another park, but at KD they fill it to capacity a lot of the time.
  14. ^ you never know, Some of them MAY have asked for permission to do so.
  15. He wouldnt be able to find the podium...
  16. oh ok. Well, I was talking to the supervisor for T-road, and He wants to race them as much as possible, even with one train op on one side. And with the supervisors being at their respective ride most of the time I'm fairly certain they will race now. ^^ No, They both open up in May.
  17. Unfortunately they probably will, Southern Star at Carowinds is that color.
  18. I agree, I hate the new nighthawk sign, altho it looks kinda cool at night when it lights up. And we really do need something to go where the sphere used to be, it just doesnt look right. *EDIT* Hey, at least Nighthawk has a logo, Afterburn currently doesnt have one.
  19. I talked to the supervisor over T-road, and they will be racing 100% As Pufferfish stated, how did you get those pics of T-road?
  20. Nice TR Andrew! Sorry i couldnt be there today with you. Thats very strange that they didnt get those signs for afterburn and drop tower up already. A few days ago I was talking to the supervisor over Thunder Road, and the reason for turning it forward is because of "structural damage". The good news is that they will be racing as much as possible this year ^.^ Also, I dont like nighthawks logo... maybe its just me?
  21. I got Dry socket Twice, The first time it was in my two bottom teeth, and the second time it was in my bottom right tooth. NOT FUN I was out for a week, and spent half days at school for another 2 weeks after i got mine out. Coasterdude5, Just be sure not to drink out of a straw, or eat from a spoon. All that will do is increase our chances of getting dry socket.
  22. I dont think it looks all that creepy. I think it is amazing that something can maneuver like that, and recover from slipping on ice so quickly.
  23. Afterburn is Definately the saving grace of Carowinds. That and the flyers of course ^ yeah, your pretty much right, if you do it right you can get through the park in about 3.5 hours or so, including rerides on AB, Nighthawk, and a couple others.
