  1. I think by residents, he meant animals....
  2. You were thinking absolutely nothing, however you were sitting cross legged as you typed. Is the grass always greener on the other side?
  3. I know its rediculous, but when I am operating any of our rides at Carowinds, I cant stand the microphone. I just hate the idea of everyone hearing my voice, especially if I mess up, And thinking about it usually makes me screw up, or studder. Same goes for Cameras and video cameras. I blame it on my shy personality.
  4. Yeah, it's really bizarre how they talk about "lack of funding for marketing" when it was their job to make sure they had money left in the budget to buy ads. Seriously, who builds a $400 million theme park and doesn't leave money over to properly promote it? Retards that don't deserve to be third shift managers at McDonald's. Plenty of smaller parks that could never afford to buy a B&M manage to buy a few billboards and TV spots. I don't believe that to be entirely true. Living in North Carolina, I heard ads for HRP all the time on the radio, and on TV. occasionally back to back! So there is no way that they "didn't have enough funding for marketing" because it honestly got to the point of being annoying hearing all of those HRP ads all the time!
  5. ^ Why is Alaska burning? I really want to see some of the track pieces myself, but i highly doubt that i will. Has anyone at all found pictures of the track en route?
  6. On Afterburn, Anyone who wears sandals, because about 95% of them dont realize that you have to take them off. Then right as the floor is dropping they are yelling at us ride ops to grab their shoes. Then we have to take off their shoes majorly slowing down our operations... And then, everyone who descides to take their cell phone out to text while on the ride, because we have to stop the train and tell them to put their phone away in their pocket, once again slowing operations.
  7. I hate you... Nice TR though, Do you have any other pictures of tenn. Tornado? Ive been hoping to see some unique shots of it.
  8. Yes we do.. That is an understatement... Unfortunately.
  9. not quite, If the power were to fail, then the air that remains in the tanks will close the brakes, Without air however, then the brakes would open up.
  10. Depending on the way the ride was designed, a LIM coaster could either be like maverick, where the LSMs act as a brake if the power fails, or a rollback. Or in the case of LIMs ( I'm not entirely sure to be honest) but I believe they have brakes in between the LIMs in the event of a rollback.
  11. I have never been on a vallied roller coaster. However, I have evacuated guests off of Taxi Chase at Carowinds before, that was interesting.
  12. Edit: Double post, please delete.
  13. I agree with what your saying here. For example, I LOVED wildcat at Hersheypark while others claim that it is too rough, but El Toro certaintly isnt rough and it is amazing as well. I dont believe a wooden coaster has to be a rougher ride to be a good ride.
  14. The restraints remind me of the ones you would find on a B&M flyer. Hopefully they will make the ride a little bit less painful One can hope, right??
  15. Again, still getting caught up. So I apologize for the double posts, but I want to respond to those questions directed back to me. Anyway, this is also calling on faulty memory. However, the Yo-yo was one that stood out because it really just seemed like a gigglefest instead of a quality check. And if I remember correctly, they were not ride ops for that particular ride. They came in through the exit and left through the exit as well. For they Yo-Yo they would have entered through the exit. The Yo-Yo is not a standalone ride. Anyone you see operating the yo-yo is also an operator for southern star, and action theater. So they may have come from either of those rides.
  16. The nets do look tacky I agree. However they certainly do serve a purpose. For example, I hate the nets on nighthawk, but they have stopped a fair amount of change from hitting me (had I not been looking up at the time) So I also understand the reasoning behind adding them. At least they look better than the net under nighthawk's first turn.
  17. Bag-o-crap: The Ride! I would much prefer either king cobra or copperhead IMO.
  18. quick meetup??? more like 5 seconds as I walked by meetup >.> But still nice nonetheless. I'm glad you had a good time at Carowinds tho ^.^
  19. I know youtube comments dont count but come on... Rita does NOT go 100 miles per hour...
  20. I realize it is ridiculous, and I agree with you, but I am still going to defend them. Because of the way the loading and dispatch of nighthawk are set up, it just naturally takes a long time. Starting with a train that has just entered the station. The train has to dock in the correct spot before the pins that keep the trains in position can be pulled out. Once those pins are pulled out, then the train can lift up to the load/unload position. After everyone has been unloaded, and the next group loaded, the ride ops have to lock the restraints in groups of two and then check them. That means multiple checks for each restraint after locking them, then they can move onto the next group of restraints. Meanwhile the computer in the control booth is checking after the ride ops to see if any seats are unlocked. If one of the sensors does not sense that the restraint is locked, then the train wont dispatch (adding to the dispatch times). Finally, the train can be lowered, the pins are set, then the sensors check that the pins are in position before allowing a train to be dispatched.
  21. Isnt that the location of the part where that parade in arms is? (trying not to spoil anything here >.>)
  22. Heck yea! Have you seen Dark Knight?
  23. Valley of the Dammed, DragonForce
  24. I had another one today, I was walking through the park near afterburn and overheard someone state, " I want to go ride North Star!" Where she got this from I have no idea...
  25. When you fly high enough in the air, you will come back down with more speed than the rest of the ride. Thus the cables low you down to an almost complete stop, then they "snap" and you go soaring even higher still.
