I'm with Robb here. I've been 12 times. And while the show has grown and improved over the years, the past two years have been rather, blah. The industry is in a slump in my opinion, heres hopng this changes. No IAAPA for us this year, we are opting out and instead attending the Transworld halloween show! Oh, and if you are going, don't be a pest, there is nothing more irritating than trying to have a converstion with a vendor and have someone just juimp in with their opinion, or just interupt. it has happened to me more than once. there is a lot to see and alot to learn, and there's a lot of great people watching. I've met some very interesting peole at the show, not by barging in on a conversation, but by just sitting back and being myself. Sometime I'll share my 'box of bolts' story with you.

You know, I don't get the pick-on-the-overweight-people jokes! I am, always have been, not too much I can do about it. So if I hang out at a park, minding my own business, are you going to take a picture of me and poke fun at me??? Sorry, just has to get that off my chest. It's not funny to me. -

I've noticed several boards that look similar, for example the salute to soda, are you using a template to run this board? Can you explain how you go about setting one up? thanks, Ed nltmatvusa!

Shanghai Disneyland Opening 2012
buttonman700 replied to Jose Eber's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Kasey and I had the worst time ever at a theme park this past June at WDW... Not at all the parks mind you, but I have never been so put off by Disney in all my life. I should post a TR I guess, this trip was marred by one disney screw up after another. We went with the mind set that Disney always does it right, not this time. We weren't alone with our views either, every time I set foot in a customer sevice center the lies were filed with upset guests! A few of the fubars - MGM Star Wars Weekend - HOLY HELL, they were not prepared for this mess... Restuarant lines out the door, power outages all over the place, the walkways are too small, parking trams that don't go where we parked, food service was one of the major problems here! Animal Kingdom - Rainy stromy day, and not place to take cover. Kicking people out of a show, in the storm do they can reset the show!?! how is pushing geusts out in to a thunderstorm a good idea? There were many more... (yes we know it rains in Florida, yes we knew it was going to be busy, yes we know... Our experiances went beyond this.) While Disney hasn't gone the way of six flags, it was darn close. -
Tips for Florida Trip and fastpass question !
buttonman700 replied to Skyscraper's topic in Ask Alvey
We used our fast passes an hour after the stated times, no worries there. Universal Orlando offers you the option of buying a pass good for both parks in the same day, if you're crushed for time. I'd say not to miss it, just for the few different rides and shows. have you booked a room? if not may I recommend villadirect.com for a condo ir house. Unless you just have to have that DISNEY PARK hotel, this is the way to go. We've done it every time we've gone to Orlando and have never regretted once. -
Celebrities and Athletes you've met...
buttonman700 replied to SixFlagsTexas's topic in Random, Random, Random
I have met - Patti Lupone - the very first Evita Mandy Patinkin Emogene Coca (I know I have spelled the dear womans name wrong.) Dean Jones James Taylor Bowzer of Sha-na-na Debbie Harry Donna Summer Dale Bozio - missing persons lead singer Thomas Dolby Christopher Cross (passed by in hallway.) The members of Spyro Gyro And a slew of others, you see, I worked for several summers for an aunt and uncle tha had an opera glass rental business (binoculars) in most of the major theaters and concert venues in LA, so we met celebs all the time. They lived next door to David Ogden, Charles Winchester from M*A*S*H, nice guy. Donna Summer came into an ice cream store I was managing in the ventura harbour "Coastal Cone", as she left she turrned and said thank you for not bothering her and her kids, for letting have thier time together, and offered and autograph! I still have it. -

How many times the same ride in a day ?
buttonman700 replied to mingsai's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I sat on the Ripper at Thril-lVille USA for 8 hours for a charity fund raiser. I was sore for weeks! I dispached out about everey 3 minutes or so and the ride time is around 90 seconds with chain lift. so that's one ride every 4.5 minutes. about 13 times an hour, or roughly 106 times, gosh it felt like more than that! -
I've known Robb for quite some time now. He dropped into Thrill-Ville USA for a visit many moon ago! Sent me a TPR video, and well... Here I am. I get a kick ot of the reviews, the videos, even some of the naughty bits ! I admire some one as busy as he is, and still has the time to bring together enthusiasts fom all over, and is not afriad to have a good time! Ed
