  1. Well, Im sure itll work because Ive used other players and it then works. Im going to try VLC. I really just like using WMP because I like having as few programs as possible to do certain tasks. If its as versatile as it says it is, maybe Ill stick with it.
  2. ...I hope you are like 5'5" too. Thats ridiculous. I havent been a 26 since I was like 13. Im 6ft 190 and Im a 37" that would like to be a 35". Which wouldnt be skinny. But...I hate New Years Resolutions. They have as much weight behind them as Nicole Richies dress size. And why wait for the new year, why not just make a change when you need one?
  3. Smart Engineering.
  4. Ok, this has come as a suprise. Ive never had issues with the videos here, till a little awhile ago. I do not remember what triggered it, but I can no longer play certain video files - one included is the one you guys use, MPEG1. I get audio, with no video. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled several different codec packs. Ive upgraded to WMP11. Nothing has worked. Ive reinstalled video drivers, etc. Ive even tried several other forums and newsgroups trying to find an answer. There has to be something missing or some fix as to why WMP will not recognize those codecs I KNOW I have installed. Any known fixes?
  5. Its definatly blue...but a light, wedgewood blue. But theres definatly blue in that.
  6. El Toro was only 35 degrees though, lol. And if you check out the previous Intamin Plug n Play rides, they all are pretty much the same angle. Im just saying for future reference. It does make the hill look rather silly and disproportionate.
  7. Reguarding your lift, its way too steep - even with what the Intamin lift system can do. Yours is 50 degrees. Using various pictures and using Photoshops Angle tool I found that el Toros lift is no more than 40, but thats being generous. The angles I found most often from various sources (at the best angles I could find) were 35-37 degrees. I would think its 35 because most standard rides are around 25. A few 30 and the only ones I know that are close to 45 are their drop coasters and possible Daemon. 50 is way too much. Even MF is only 45.
  8. $100 Down comforter $50 - Cash $25 - Red Robin Express Scarf and Beanie Simpsons Season 9 Semi-Pro Tripod (So my dad can have his back ) 2 1-hour Massage Therapy Sessions (Back is destroyed) And...Lucky Shit from my sister. Or Excremement to be PC - but thats what the Japanese call it. Here, take a look - I got the Orange one for Winning I think thats it. Very mild Christmas. The biggest presents were my overtime checks from work (one still to come) but thats all probably going to go to fixing my car
  9. Wait, we still have a shuttle program? Crap, and I thought we did the smart thing and shut it down. Not like its doing anything useful...
  10. Would it be inappropriate to call that Sunday, Bloody Sunday? Possibly unsafe? probably. Are people stupid and I dont feel bad when they make irrational decisions? Yup. I just havent much sympathy for the ignorant (and unruly). Those things look sweet...would be great to have in your backyard.
  11. Once Christmas is done, I will use the ingame smoother - some segment splitting (using the y button) and use no extra tools. That ride has potential to be alot smoother, you just gotta know some basic rules about bezier design. Bezier being the term used to describe the points, handles and the way the track is created. Theres limitations and more importantly, theres preferences that the smoother and the beziers like. So when you cater to those, it makes your job alot easier. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Track has been uploaded - all this below was written after I uploaded ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This took me 5 minutes and isnt nearly what I would call fixed, but its better. And even if its not super better, its in a much better position to be fixed. Why? The first thing I did was look at the lengths of the segments. You had some very long, others very short. In theory, you want all of your segments similar in size. They can vary, but never do you want to jump from a long to a short in most cases. Sometimes you get do it, but just try not too. Also, you want your segments to end up being somewhere around 20ft long. If you start wtih 40ft segments, thats ok. Do what you can, then, split them up and adjust the banking if it doesnt do it for you the first time. Once I split the segments up (only first time through - 2-3 minutes) I used the smoother on the entire track. Highlight track you want smoothed - hold CTRL and press G. I then made sure we had Con-Roll turned on for every vertex. I then noticed you had some fairly small segments in a few turns. You want the rest of the track to match that. So, I split every segment up again to match those - the only segments I didnt change were the ones we were trying to match. Once done with that, used smoother again. Done. Now, the beginning track had alot of flaws that still exist. Banking issues. Support hits. Bad jerks. The smoother only does so much, but if you put the smoother in a better position to help you, you stand a better chance of a better product. Some things to help: Equal Length Segments Segments that turn (in any direction) no MORE than 30 degrees (That means for a 180 degree turn you need 6 segments or more) Con Roll ON Segments under 25ft long - preferably under 20 Follow those to start with, using the smoother built into the game and you will find your tracks coming out alot smoother ALOT quicker. If you then want, once you feel you want to venture into the AHG, let me know. I can write out some more simple rules and regulations to follow to get your feet off the ground at least. experimient_481-q.nltrack First Try - took 5 minutes
  12. Why do you need pictures? just download it and ride it. Takes only a few minutes.
  13. Im sure you read and asked questions to use NL, correct? And itll work on your coasters as long as you have a windows machine - it works on all tracks. And it doesnt smooth the tracks for you, it just heartlines it for you. Which, if you want to get techincal, in order to do some elements correctly, youll need to have a vertex every 3-5ft. Its just impossible any other way.
  14. Ride was pretty uneventful. For the type of ride, G's were way too mild. I was expecting to see some 4 and 5 G moments (and helicies) but got mostly 2's and 3's. Transitions were below average. Some were ok but if you made this in 1.6, you didnt even try to use the smoother thats built into the game. I used it on multiple areas and it made alot of the transitions slightly above average. Layout should have been half that size to be more effective and action packed. Take whats there, size it down, smooth it out, add some more g's and its a decent ride. Supports were great in areas, and horrible in others. The horrible were the 8-9 complete derailments of the train. If not from the first 7 supports going through the tracks rails, the 8th would have finished it off (hopefully it derails alot sooner for the peoples sake) This is completely sloppy and Im sure you spent alot of time on those truss systems - so make sure in the sim that you have allowed enough room for clearances for all parts of the train, not just the riders heads. Overall - below average but not crappy. Needs alot of work but there is some promise hiding in there.
  15. How is it complicated? Take segment of track - save as own track. Make sure areas with negative G are colored black so they dont flip over Set Filter Input beginning and end speeds. Run and presto - done. It does require tweaking but most of the time it takes 2 seconds. Im willing to bet you just havent been taught correctly. Follow some simple rules and its about as easy as creating a good lift hill by hand.
  16. A lady came to the service desk at Meijers (supercenter style store) and wanted to return 4 candy bars - one half eaten. 3 Butterfingers and 1 Baby Ruth. She claimed that her Butterfinger had worms. Yea. There was a small hole in the bar, probably just an air bubble during the cooling of the chocolate, and claimed it was a worm hole. Then she claimed that since all the candy bars were on sale, that they all must have come from the same batch and thus were all infected with worms. Old ladys are crazy, crazy people. If I ever get that senile - shoot me please.
  17. It gets better - soon you'll be working with parabolas and quadratic equations. And that's just the beginning... That stuffs easy. Its PROOFS THAT SUCK. The only part of math I ever hated...proofs. How lame. Just have some nice equations or things to figure out - not proofs. Most hated class...not sure. I think I disliked teachers more than individual classes. Oh, I take that back. ACCOUNTING Especially when you have a complete space-case teacher online who does NOTHING to help you. What a maroon. That and theres a million and one better ways to do accounting than the things we have in place. No wonder we need an IRS and entire sections of a company devoted to just bookwork - cause an idiot designed it!!
  18. Well, where else will you get a funnel THAT big? If it saves 30 bucks from buying some huge pre-fabbed funnel - more power too em as ya said. tis funny though, didnt even notice.
  19. Horribly incorrect. Its cold and rainy in Upper Ohio - wish it would just get done with being mild and SNOW already. I have some sledding to do (the motorized version). And some skiing. Rain sucks. So does 80 in December. Why do the same things I can do in the summer in the winter? By winter Im sick of summer. Sweating my balls off at work (both jobs) and ready to be comfortable.
  20. Because I would actually rather use my own space on my own site - but, because the good quality video was 31mb (havent reinstalled all my video editing software yet) I didnt want to suck my bandwidth. Secondly, this way I can just use one link to put on multiple websites instead of posting one here, one in another place, etc - you get the picture. Its just easier to organize and such.
  21. Vide of first half test section: Gallery: http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/p2597 Of course, once the tracks done Ill get to doing the 3ds - but I have to wait for them to build the stuff first since it might turn out different from the animations on the website. Im not working on it ATM - still working lots of hours but once school sets in and my fiance goes back for her final quarter Ill have time.
  22. What if my Red G's differ from yours? You should use number values instead of colors - Ive adjusted my scale to be far harder (and more realistic) to design under than what the game comes with. Secondly, that would then differ for each ride type as well. You wouldnt see a woodie pulling 5.5 vertical G's - but an Intamin you might. Just an FYI for fairness... Interesting Idea - I was going to do this for myself considering that the Kemah TGG woodie is in a 1acre setting.
  23. Well, Id have to say I agree. I pretty much laid it out in lamens terms. But, if you need the cliffnotes version: Dont tell others they cant rate based on their skill level - its a completely inane reason and has absolutely no merit whatsoever. Because if thats the case, Ive seen your rides and youd not even have the right to talk about others rides, let alone tell others what they can and cant do. But, because everyone has a right to tell others what they think (constructively of course) you, and others, are encouraged to comment/rate others rides. So, lets get back to this guys ride so others can comment on what he needs to work on (reguardless your skill level) and actually be productive.
  24. ^Hes not starting crap - hes just helping you understand what I wrote since you didnt understand. Not like he was threatening you...grow up. Calaway- Hey, dont be sorry. I takes alot of practice. Once you use it soo much you can almost, without even going into the sim, know exactly what banking it will need based on an approx speed. But that just comes with time. Keep at it. It wasnt bad for what was there, just some quick transitions that need alot more technicality in the trackwork. Have you ever heard of the AHG? It will automatically heartline your track to reduce laterals by a ton. However, since it needs to create a new track with alot more verticies than you previously had, it means that any mistakes will be amplified. Its a give and take sort of program. Heres a link: http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/pageid-6.html Search the forum for AHG and youll probably find alot of topics reguarding the more indepth details to getting the most out of it. Plus, make sure you read the site and the readme that comes with it.
  25. Take that, then read what I said again.
