  1. Woo...Shane has officially answered the Drop Zone trivia question as my lifeline, so it looks like I'll get to advance to the next level on TPR Deal or No TPR Deal! How exciting!! And also congrats to Scottish Steve as well as andyuk200523 for rocking out the correct answers! Hopefully you've all enjoyed playing this round and will tune in again next time. Shane unfortunately no I will not be going on the China or Japan trips...this time that is. Hopefully when I make it to the top of TPR Deal or No TPR Deal and rake in all the winnings, I can go again. I think I saw you mention somewhere you are doing both?
  2. ^ Well that's not exactly what I was thinking of about the 5 sides but maybe someone can verify. My guess was going to be about the top of the tower and the paint scheme. I think I'll probably have to use a lifeline and call in Shane to officially confirm.
  3. I didn't realize there was more than one ducky in this view of Drop Zone. Big Mike would be proud! Hmmm...I think I know the other distinguishing feature, but maybe someone else can take a stab at it.
  4. August is turning into "follow along with the TPR West Coast trip" month, so today I'll post a card from Great America when it was owned by Paramount. Here's Drop Zone Stunt Tower. Did CF change the name to just Drop Ride I wonder? Oh and does anyone notice something a little odd about this photo? Find it, and win a ducky prize from Big Mike! Just kidding, but you can certainly email Dan about it. Hi TPR West Coast trippers! How was your ride? Find the ducky!
  5. Totally amazing and VERY well done. I really enjoyed seeing your behind-the-scenes tour, and just so you know your pics are really great! I almost even felt a little dizzy looking at your photos from the top of Griffon haha. Thanks for sharing!
  6. ^ MMMMMMMMMMM! Besides a Watkins Rampage, Cobra is my most wanted flat ride credit. Great Zipper pics!
  7. ^^ Guy I can see your point about both parks having the same Proslide attraction, but then SFFT and SWSA both have Batman clones and are much closer to each other than SFKK and HW. Just sayin'....
  8. I have always wanted to see more pics of Idora...awesome! I would love to see Wildcat get recreated. Thanks!
  9. The hospitality at Grona Lund is unrivaled...totally amazing! The park owners were very cool...they even gave us free Insane t shirts. How cool is that?! Grona Lund is seriously one of THE greatest parks I've ever experienced...probably my most fav on the trip along with Liseberg. I definitely would love to go back here again. When's the next TPR Scandi trip?! By the way AWESOME photos Chuck. I'm amazed at how much you captured that I totally did not even take in..so many cool, quirky things to see, do, touch, etc. all packed into one place. Oh and yes Ghost Train is seriously the fastest haunted house ride-through EVER. VROOOOOOM! How did I miss that little boat ride? Where was that? Thanks for this TR Chuck...it really rocks!
  10. These are some really awesome older photos. Thanks for sharing!
  11. This postcard should get all you peeps going to the Bay Area Bash this Friday even a little more excited. It's Medusa at Six Flags Marine World...err Discovery Kingdom. Enjoy your floorless ERT!!! The park name change was already in motion with the price mark down of this card. Could this be the next Bizarro "extreme home makeover" coaster? Look at all that dangling action!
  12. How cool Craig. Awesome photos and TR...thanks for sharing Casey's milestone coaster with us!
  13. My vote goes to the Matterhorn Bobsleds.
  14. I did a search and couldn't find a topic on this 1979 TV show episode featuring Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman at Magic Mountain. If a topic thread has covered this before then feel free to bring out the lock police. Anyway, I had heard about this two part episode of Wonder Woman mentioned somewhere before but had forgotten about it till recently. I had an idea my library might have the DVD, so I checked out their catalog and sure enough there it was! I put it on reserve, and it finally came this week. I watched it today, and it was pretty cheesy but in a good way! This amazing show was filmed at Magic Mountain and has a TON of great old school footage featuring POVs of Revolution and Colossus, the Intamin Galaxy wheel, skyride POVs, a chase scene through the Schwarzkopf Mountain Express, and lots of night scenes of rides long gone from the park. I would say the footage shot for this TV show is better than what I've seen from around the same time period as shown in the movies "Rollercoaster" and "Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park"! Anyone else seen it? Run, don't walk, to your local library and get it if they have it! Totally two thumbs up.
  15. Is it possible this "ride project" could be an attraction in Splashin' Safari? Ooops...edited to spell Safari correctly. It's not SURFari lol.
  16. Intamin! Intamin! Intamin! I still find it unusual Paula hasn't hinted around. Anyone seen any markings?
  17. Interesting. So Paula...any hints or teasers, or have I just been looking in all the wrong places?
  18. Hey Bill...great photos! I always enjoy seeing what you do with film. PNE looks like a fun place, and I really hope I get out there soon (TPR NW trip maybe?). How did Revelation compare with its Finnish sibling?
  19. I did some digging back in the Paradise archives for this next postcard from Virginia's Buckroe Beach, a defunct park you never really hear much about anymore. I really have no idea how I acquired this card since I've never been to Buckroe, but it has been in my collection as far back as I can remember. According to RCDB, the park closed in 1985. This view shows the 1920's John Miller built Dips woodie with its station in the foreground. I've always loved how Miller's drops were built only inches from the ground. It appears there was a pretty good double down on this coaster too. Did anyone here ever get to visit Buckroe and ride Dips? Hi Larry...a new entry for the TPR Park Index Funky Scrambler lights. Can you dig on those hot pants and high heels?
  20. Always great to see the Brit Crew living it up!
  21. Schedule looks awesome Mike. Glad to see Roswell and the Carlsbad bats on there! I think you'll like both a lot. Looking forward to your photos and TR from this trip and good luck getting all those credits!
  22. I had jokingly been referring to the park as Tusen-Q all day because of the slow operations. I'm still wondering what the female ride op at Loopen was thinking with the queue gate and the way she was making everyone squeeze around, over, and under each other through the line to get to the back. It seemed all she had to do was swing the gate shut and start a new queue. Did she know something we didn't? Overall it's a nice park that could use a lot more operations help. Edit to add...great update Chuck!
  23. This thread is also a good one to check out... http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=50420 Have fun in my home state!
  24. Awesome photo TR so far. Thanks for sharing!
  25. Hey Peter! It was great seeing you for the few days you were there! Glad we could get you in the Gasten Ghost Hotel at Liseberg too. I just wish we'd had more chill out time to catch up with each other after the parks. Hopefully no more kamikaze pooping birds have flown over you! Mark
