  1. Santa Claus is coming to town! God bless you all, and Merry Christmas TPR! Santa's got a bag full of Timberliners!
  2. Divv, this was truly fantastic, and I'm so glad and thankful you posted all the photos, hysterical captions, and memories. It was truly a trip of a lifetime I know I'll never forget. I send HUGE infinite thanks to Robb, Elissa, everyone on the trip and additional TPR members who showed up at the parks who hung out with me, every single park (you're all amazing), and our bus drivers (shout outs to Lina - I hope I got your name correct - as well as our other driver whose name I wish I could recall!) for carrying all of us crazies all over Scandinavia. Can we go back and do it all over again NOW?!?!
  3. I think I'm most curious to see what Apollo will do with Geauga Lake.
  4. I love Paranormal State. I'll definitely have to check this episode out. Thanks for the heads up!
  5. Noel and happy holidays from Tivoli Gardens! This park was absolutely gorgeous during our TPR Scandi trip this past summer. I can only imagine how amazing it must look during Christmas! Good tidings. Jolly Ol' St. Nick!
  6. Dude you have some sweet machines! I was just playing Funhouse in an arcade the other night and thought it was really cool. Yeah the guy who sold the BH machine to me did quite a bit of modding to the electronics to modernize it from the former Gottlieb fail. It's running really awesome right now.
  7. Thank you Angry Gumball for the tipoff on Craigslist. I now have a sweet 1981 Black Hole in the basement! It just got delivered tonight, and I absolutely love everything about this table. It has amazing sound effects and vocoder type speech, awesome graphics, a really challenging layout (love that lower level), and is just an all around fun game. I wonder if they'll notice why I'm so sleepy at work tomorrow. Check out the pictures! Oooooo ahhhhhh...super massive. Full frontal! Welcome home Black Hole. I'm getting sucked in! Here it is!
  8. Hey Big Mike, I'd love to have one of your Christmas cards! I'm sending you a card of holiday cheer today. Enjoy, Merry Christmas, and a Happy 2010 to you!!! Mark
  9. That is fine if you think it's dumb. I kinda get what you're saying, and it sounds like you have ridden SROS since the transformation and can say that the ride experience is the same for you. Ok cool. I've heard others say the opposite and that they didn't like it as much. Others have said they like it even more. I think the thing that makes the TPR community so great is all the varying opinions we have, but that we also can respect each other's opinions. I'd just like to reserve continuing to place it at my #1 spot until I've actually experienced the changes. Dumb...maybe? Who knows maybe next year I'll change my mind and rank it.
  10. ^ It will be interesting to see if Guntown Mountain opens again in 2010. By the way, I stand corrected about the Alpine Slide being at Guntown Mountain. It appears it's at the neighboring Kentucky Action park: http://www.kentuckyactionpark.com/ Anyway, onward to this week's postcard, and since the Christmas season is just around the bend, here's a look at Silver Dollar City's train all decked out for the Winter holidays. All aboard The Frisco Silver Dollar Line. It's not quite The Polar Express, but it looks good!
  11. Gorgeous snow pics! Thanks for sharing. Too bad we didn't get any over here in Nashvegas.
  12. Fair enough Robb. I see what you're saying I think. I just feel like for me it would not be fair to rank the revamped SROS with its new trains, fire, sound effects, light "tunnels", and building props since I haven't ridden it with the changes. My opinion of SROS could totally be different now if I had ridden it as Bizarro. I guess I'm just persnickety like that.
  13. Whew...there went 3 hours going over my steel ballot (I rank every single one of my 213 steel coasters on the list). Sadly, I had to remove SROS at SFNE from my #1 this year AND from my list because since the transformation to Bizarro I have not ridden it and feel it would probably be a much different experience. I also removed Medusa Bizarro at SFGAdv from my list this year too for the same reason. I'm curious if others have done this too, and if so how it will affect the #1 spot this year. Wood and steel ballots are both submitted!
  14. I am totally in love with Grona Lund. What an absolutely stellar place! The owners of the park were so incredibly gracious to us as well as super cool dudes. Thank you Grona Lund for treating us so spectacularly! Awesome pics too Divv...lol at the one of me and Lou on Insane!!!
  15. Old SF execs coppin' off Beech Bend's new 2010 additions perhaps? Not that that's necessarily a bad thing... http://www.wkrn.com/global/story.asp?s=11607033
  16. Wow what a cool idea for a great Christmas present. Thanks Robb and Elissa! By the way Nara was a really fun video!
  17. Actually none of my postcards are for sale right now. Maybe someday though. Did everyone get their fill of Thanksgiving Day turkey? Well here's a bird of a different feather for you to digest...Vogel Rok from Efteling. Fun enclosed coaster with impressive entrance!
  18. Heads up for those hardcore YGG fans...Yo Gabba Gabba! will be in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade tomorrow! http://www.yogabbagabba.com/?page=News
  19. ^ I was wondering if that was still there. Why is Shapiro letting an awesome flat that's very family friendly just sit and rot?
  20. It's great to see that Intamin is still offering the tilting Drunken Barrels flat ride after all these years. I've never understood why more parks don't have this awesome flat. Opryland had an enclosed one with music and lights that was definitely the best flat in the park. I just love when the whole platform starts raising and tilting. I was reminded again how awesome they are when we visited Sea Paradise in Japan on the '07 TPR trip. 5 guys in one of these = instant tea cups of death and much hilarity!
  21. Here in the USA we celebrate a holiday called Thanksgiving on this coming Thursday, and it just so happens that Holiday World's newest area is themed around all that is otherwise known as "eat a ton of amazing food and fall asleep on the couch watching football games" day. Oh yeah this holiday also has something historical to do with the Pilgrims and Native Americans gathering for a celebratory harvest festival way back in Jeff Johnson's glory days. I think it might be time for me to get out that Charlie Brown classic tv special and brush up on Jeff's history! Anyway I digress, so here's The Voyage, and I hope everyone has many blessings for which to be thankful and celebrate. Mmmm turkey, dressing, and triple down tunnel. I can't wait to try out those new Timberliner trains next year!
  22. Oh man Ryan I'd forgotten all about Pineapple lol!!!
  23. Miles, what's a SCAD tower???
  24. Hands down my fav park day of the Scandi trip. Everything about it totally rocked!!! Thanks for all the photos Divv.
