  1. I always find it kind of odd how popular Dumbo is...maybe it's not the character so much as it is just the flat ride that kids like. Do kids watch the movie that religiously? Is it even available on DVD/Blu ray? I hope Snow White's Scary Adventures finds its way to Wild Bill's Nostalgia Center someday. Thanks for the video and pics!
  2. ^ If you could be so kind to PM me a reminder when the carnivals come around that would be awesome! Thanks!
  3. I've always thought it'd be fun and amazing to do an actual bobsled ride as it's my fav winter olympic event. Massive cool points to you, Larry!
  4. WOW incredible photos! Thanks for sharing. I live in Nashville and had no idea about the Nolensville Pike or Franklin carnivals. When are they held?
  5. STELLAR! I love the BIG MAN and THE ROAD SHOW too. Thanks for including me in a photo at Balder doing the nail thing (and still to this day prob my fav park day ever!). The Jukebox is the best of its kind, and mmmmm...Liseberg's lingonberry sauce with meatballs...I miss it so much. Much love to you Big Mike!
  6. Between Williams Grove, DuWo, and Knoebels all in the same day, I unfortunately did not have time to check out this ride at Williams Grove during my visit. Glad to see it living on and hope to experience it one day! Awesome that you're keeping us informed, Larry!
  7. I had no idea Charles Moore is still relevant. It's been a while, but has Zaha Hadid done anything interesting lately?
  8. Great photos, Elissa. Thanks for sharing. Nice to see how the new FL construction is coming along. I really need to get back to WDW as it's been about 20 years since my last trip there!
  9. Thanks Robin, and Merry Christmas to you too! Edit to add: ^^ I wonder if the Cloud Grabber was the same ride that was at SFOG. Seems like it was at SFOT at one time too and if memory serves correct it came from a world's fair???
  10. The "Room with the Living Dolls" at Joypolis was freaky and probably my favorite scary attraction I've ever done besides Space World's "Room with the Alien" (those who've done it know what I'm talking about!).
  11. Oh by golly...well you know the rest. Here's part 2 of a Dollywood update, and Merry Christmas TPR! A tender Tennessee Christmas anyone? In my opinion the Christmas shows at Dollywood are awesome! Here's a preview of coming 2008 attractions... Thanks for being awesome, Dollywood!
  12. It's awesome watching these updates, Larry. Thank you for sharing!
  13. Has anyone heard if Mitch is doing the poll this year? I know last year it was delayed a bit, but isn't it usually around this time of year that the wood poll ballot gets posted?
  14. The highlight was definitely Texas Giant Bash and catching up with old friends. Oh, and New Texas Giant was pretty cool too.
  15. Beech Bend has confirmed on their Facebook page that "the manufacturer is ARM".
  16. Any word if Rocky Mountain is modifying the profile/layout ala Texas Giant?
  17. Beech Bend just posted this message to their Facebook page: "Hey folks! We've got a super special announcement exclusive to facebook! I promised that there would be some big additions this winter, and Beech Bend Park in 2012 would like to introduce a monstrous, giant 140 ft drop tower! This will be the single tallest ride ever in Beech Bend history! We need your help naming this bohemeth, so leave your best ride names as comments and the winner will get a special prize! Happy naming!"
  18. Though I haven't ridden it as Bizarro, SROS at SFNE is still my fav coaster. However, I'm a little scared to ride it as Bizarro since as others have noted it's just not the same or as good, but whatever...I think the layout is genius and it offered the perfect amount of airtime and tunnels too (love that compression feeling similar to Texas Giant my #2 steel and sadly missing on ExGF my #3 steel) when I rode 5.5 years ago.
  19. Shane, who is the music by on the Worlds of Fun video? It reminds me of Alphaville and Simple Minds though I know it's surely not. Hopefully you've checked out some modern bands (Interpol, The Killers, et al) who are drawing inspiration from our beloved 80's bands.
  20. It's great to know where those Beech Bend Pretzel cars are residing now as well as the other info. Thanks for the great update, Larry!
  21. Very interesting thread, Larry! Loved the history section. Can't wait to see what Wild Bill's is planning exactly. After the refurb of Beech Bend's Spook House this year, I wonder where their replaced Pretzel cars were sent or if they kept them.
  22. This reminds me of the information packet that you sent me! I still have that around and re-read it every now and then! I'll have to scan it and upload it to the site one day. Maybe I'll get around to it when you finally come up for a visit. I'd almost forgot I sent that to you, Shawn, and Leviathan is very tempting for a trip up not to mention it's almost time for our ten year reunion lol.
  23. That's some great old footage of CW, Shane. Thanks for sharing!
  24. Wow I actually kinda remember that brochure. The naked witch always freaked me out. Ripley's in G'burg is no more?
  25. I want to say "Oh dear" to this, but to their credit they've actually done a pretty good job upgrading Nashville Shores since acquiring it recently. In just two years they've added a new wave pool, lazy river, and kids play area as well as other general improvements to the park.
