Great Park Operations
Sunfire replied to denning's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Yeah, at Flight Deck they were being very efficient. Me personally, when I'm checking restraints at Invertigo, I tell everyone to enjoy their ride and to have fun. I'm sure it adds to their day. -
Great Park Operations
Sunfire replied to denning's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Actually, I do have to agree about Canyon Blaster. When I was there, they were dispatching very quickly. -
I agree with many, that CGA has improved since CF took over. I work there, and I'm always enthusiastic, and I have fun with what I'm doing. I don't know why people always say it's the worst park ever. For the most part, the GP loves Great America. Now just because some of the rides aren't good (*cough* Vortex *cough* Grizzly) doesn't mean that the park sucks. If you look at Firefall, you can see that CF really put effort into making it look nice. It's got great foliage, and the fountains look magnificent. Bottom line, you can't go to CGA expecting super awesome rides, or else you'll be really disappointed. However, if you go for the overall park experience, you will be impressed with what Cedar Fair has done.

Photo TR - Dippin' Dots Store (as in "Storefront")
Sunfire replied to Theme-Park-Urge's topic in Random, Random, Random
A Dippin Dot's Store?! That sounds so cool. I haven't seen any here in the Bay Area. I, like many people, lost my DD virginity at a theme park. I've always liked them, but they are so darn expensive at parks, so I don't buy them often. I'd like to see a store up here in Norcal. -
TPR Members Working At Parks
Sunfire replied to BrownStreak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I work at California's Great America at Invertigo. It's a fun job, getting to be at a theme park every weekend (and soon weekdays). -

13/20. I don't know that much about international coastering. -
This thread is so awesome. I've pretty much done everything listed here. I'll post something when I think of it.

^^To Gumball, I meant the second one about being a copyright law. This thread is one of my favorites. -

Photo TR: Coaster Palooza 2008 - UPDATE P. 23
Sunfire replied to Coaster Palooza's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
The Top Gun music defenitely was NOT there. I'm gonna miss it. However, maybe the queue audio just wasn't working, and the station audio, because I didn't hear any of it. -
At our school, we did have the Day of Silence (held by the Gay Straight Alliance), and I think people at my school are mostly accepting of gay people. Then again, I live in the Bay Area near San Francisco, which is known because of the diversity and acceptance of homosexuality. Me personally, I didn't participate in the event, but I do respect the people that did. I feel so horrible for the people that get harrased because of their sexual orientation. It's just wrong to discriminate people like that. I wish we could just live in peace, LGBT, and straight. The world would be a better place that way.

Photo TR: Coaster Palooza 2008 - UPDATE P. 23
Sunfire replied to Coaster Palooza's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Don't worry, Flight Deck will most likely be open. It's just that the first weekend, there were lot's of bugs. But now they have it working fine, sometimes. The only thing that sucks is that they took out all the audio. -
I've just ridden my FIRST INVERSION!
Sunfire replied to Edward's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think it's great that you got to ride your first coaster with inversions. Keep in mind that some coasters have AWESOME inversions, and some are just downright painful (*cough* SLC *cough*). Here's to many more coasters with inversions! -
Right now in English we are reading In the Time of the Butterflies (or "En el Tiempo De las Mariposas"). I think it's a great book so far. Next we will be reading Night.

This TR reminds me of my last trip to Vegas back in December. Exept when I was there it was really cold and dry. Also, I got two new credits then (Canyon Blaster and Speed). Anyways, keep up the awesomeness! More boobs would be nice.

^I wouldn't count on it. We're talking Cedar Fair here. They've done some good things, but I don't think they will change the ride's program. Most likely, I think it will be the same program that it had at GL. But I'd be pretty happy, because the ride did around 5 or 6 flips. That's AMAZING compared to Voodoo at DK. So I'll be thankful about that.

Well, at CGA, which is another Cedar Fair site, Our rain policy doesn't seem to be as strict. Most of the rides close only if it's a torrential downpour, or nearby lightning. Hope that helps.
