  1. I work at California's Great America at Invertigo. I might post pics if I can
  2. ^I personally don't have any problems with Endeavor, but the once the ship gets into full loops, the spinning may become disorienting. I'd say skip it if you suffer from motion sickness easily. Still, I think it's cool, being one of the only pirate ships that does full Revolutions (ha, I made a joke).
  3. I was off by 3:00 that day so I never knew that happened.
  4. Aw, it stinks that neither of you saw me working. I was at Invertigo for most of the morning, and at Berserker in the afternoon. If you want to say hi, look for Matthew near Invertigo.
  5. ^Yeah, tomorrow's Spring Celebration should bring A LOT of guests into the park. Unless you are going for the concert, try to avoid the park. Most popular rides will probably use all their overflow switchbacks (last year Invertigo's was nearly full).
  6. ^Yeah, we've been running with no major problems so far.
  7. Well, I don't work at Vortex, but I think it was closed last weekend as well. It's computer is probably acting crappy like it sometimes does (think RCT3 ride going up in smoke), but I really don't know what caused it to close. Trust me, you weren't missing much IMO, the last couple of times I rode it, it was rough as heck.
  8. ^Last time I went, Flight Deck's videocamera was taken out and Vortex's photos were not being taken. However, I think Psycho Mouse still has theirs, but I'm not sure.
  9. Man, that sounds really messed up. I work at Invertigo/Berserker/Whitewaters, and when I'm at WWF, occasionally I'll pretend to close the gates on someone trying to run in, but I always open them up and say "just kidding". I never just slam the gates in someones face and laugh at them. It's too bad that you had to deal with the bad employees. Sorry that your day went crappy.
  10. I'm defenitely a Whooper and Laugher. I usually don't scream unless I'm genuinely scared (like riding the Stratosphere thrill rides).
  11. Best: Flight Deck at CGA. Forceful corkscrew, crazy helix over water, end. Awesome! Space Mountain at DLR: After the drop, all those turns. Even though you're not going super fast, you feel like you're zooming through the cosmos. Worst: BTMRR at DLR: The first two thirds of the ride are so much fun, but the ending was a let down compared to the rest of the wild train ride. Manhattan Express: This coaster fails at life 100%. Grizzly at CGA: after two minutes of barely any airtime, it just ends. Nothing spectacular, it just sucks.
  12. Well, I figured since the coaster season is about to begin, I thought a good topic to discuss would be motion sickness. Has anyone here ever had a problem with it while riding roller coasters? I personally never have, but working as a ride operator, it comes up occasionally at my ride (Vekoma Invertigo). Does anyone have any stories to share (not too much explicit details please) to give us a good laugh?
  13. ^Yeah, the week after Easter tends to be pretty crowded since lots of people are on Spring Break. Expect most of the popular rides to have at least 45 minute waits, if not longer. However, with Fastpass, you can save more time, so use it!
  14. ^I agree about Spongebob. It's a fun ride, but I think it's ready to leave. I say they should bring back 7th Portal!
  15. ^Yeah, plus Vortex is way too rough. I guess we could call it Iron Wolf of the West.
  16. ^The "Scream Zone" at the end of the name Drop Tower is used as a caption. It's just like in the Paramount days when it was called Drop Zone, and had the caption "Stunt Tower" below it on the ever awesome neon sign. I'm wondering what will be new for 2009. I'm guessing this season will be more of a time for aesthetic improvements. If a wood coaster comes in 2010 (which I don't really expect, but then again, who does?), perhaps CGA will be put back on the map of thrill parks. Only time will tell what happens in the coming months.
  17. So far, this park is really good! I'm not that great at making parks, let alone nice buildings and custom scenery, but I can make a quick suggestion. Perhaps for the Outer Space area of the park, you can add a coaster themed to a rocket launch (of course it doesn't have to be a rocket coaster), and you can create an elaborate queue ala Space Mountain. I can't wait to see how you expand the park!
  18. I'll be back for my 2nd season at California's Great America. Yay for Invertigo!
  19. ^I think this might be something to hold us over while he works on Saw: Revolution. While HHE was totally awesome and unmatchable, this park is really cool as well.
  20. ^Either retrack the whole thing, or GIANT BONFIRE! Anyways, I can't wait to see what's in store for next year. However, I just think it will probably be a new show or something. I enjoyed the addition of the Summer ice show. Hopefully we can see some more entertainment.
  21. ^Trust me, Knott's does not want Vortex. It's an epic failure of a coaster.
  22. I miss HHE so much! It's like a little brother that died.
  23. ^Yeah, I think this thread should be closed before a flame war erupts.
