  1. I think it's terrible that the ride ops really haven't changed much. Especially on busy days, the ops should be moving quick to move those lines along. And even if the park is not crowded, they should still be working at almost the same pace as they do on a busy Saturday.
  2. On Saturday the 4th, it will most likely be a little crowded. Most of the coasters will proabably have 30-45 minute waits. After Labor Day weekend, the lines will be very short.
  3. ^Nice. The first time I visited was this June on a Saturday (I was with my school on our Senior trip), and all I rode was Revolution, Viper, and Terminator. I missed X2, Tatsu, Goliath, and almost everything else because the lines were so ridiculous. Hopefully if I do go, then I can hit up all the stuff I missed.
  4. For you guys who are more familiar with the crowd patterns at SFMM, how crowded do you think the park will be this week? I might be going, and I was wondering how long the lines may be.
  5. ^Good point, I'm sure it's possible for them to design a smaller model. If only.
  6. ^It's not because of the neighbors. CGA would not be able to get a Windseeker primarily because of its height. The 4 clones being built are all about 300 feet tall. Because of the proximity to the San Jose Airport, Great America has difficulty building anything over 200 feet, let alone something as tall as a Windseeker. It'd be a great addition to the park, but there's nowhere it can reasonably go without raising problems concerning height.
  7. Aww, the connector path between the two lands reopens AFTER I go there. Gotta love that flawless timing...
  8. ^The cars parked in that dirt area were most likely setting up for the Saturday night fireworks. Landscaping is pretty possible too, but I'm pretty sure it was fireworks setup.
  9. ^Nice. I totally should have ran to Toy Story one of the 3 days I was there. Both times I rode I had to wait an hour. I thought it was worth the wait, such a great attraction.
  10. By the way, here's some advice for when you visit DCA. If you're planning to ride Mulholland Madness, wait until nighttime during World of Color. It's one of the few rides in Paradise Pier that stays open during the show. During the day, Mulholland had a 45 minute wait, but around 10 PM when World Of Color was about to start up, the ride was a walk on. How often do you see a walk on at a Disney park in the summer season? Thought you'd like to know so you guys can save time to get the credit.
  11. ^Well, I knew it was inevitable. I think it's a bit sad though, I rode it on my visit this past week and thought it was pretty fun. Generally, though, I visited DLR over this past Sunday through Tuesday with my famiy, and I had a great time. I thought World of Color was a great show. Personally, I thought the Fastpass system worked well because I got to enjoy my day at the park while not worrying about getting a bad spot to the show. Still, I'd like to commend the ride operators around the park. I'm very impressed with how fast they kept the line moving for California Screamin'. Overall, I had an awesome time at both parks. On a side note, I think I might have seen a fellow TPR member. While I was with my family on Sunday night at the Refreshment Corner at Disneyland, I'm pretty sure I saw Chris with someone else that I didn't recognize. Was that you, Chris?
  12. Actually, on Friday, the ride was cycling again, and it sounded fine. Actually, it sounds like it's in great condition. Let's hope that it can open soon.
  13. ^Yeah, you and me both. I'm waiting for it to open just so I can test ride it in the morning.
  14. ^Finally! It's been a lonely season without the ride. I can't wait to get back to my air conditioned control booth.
  15. Honestly, I don't see why everyong is fussing over the trims. I've never been to KD, but needless to say, I305 looks pretty kickass. Besides, I think the GP are still going to eat the ride up. They probably don't notice the trims. Instead, they're probably amazed about the fact that it's a 300 foot drop.
  16. I was at the Boardwalk today, and they're making a lot of progress on the new Haunted Castle. In other news, their operations were superb today. They were able to dispatch Giant Dipper in about 25 seconds.
  17. I saw Wicked in San Francisco. It was amazing! I'd love to see it on Broadway, but I'm not rich.
  18. I won't be able to make it. I'll be working that weekend. You'll probably see me operating something at CGA
  19. Wow, the City Center is really starting to come together. I haven't been to Vegas since about 07, so I defenitely wanna go and check it out
  20. ^Wow. Great find! I wish I could have seen CGA back it its heyday.
  21. ^Actually, I wish we were allowed to tell people at least how long it might be. I know that there are people that won't freak out if we tell them basically what's wrong as long as it can be fixed. It's just that there are a lot of people that will assume that the ride is "unsafe" because it got stuck for a little while. Of course, what happened on Xcelerator and Invertigo were freak accidents and nobody could have predicted them. But normally, if it's just a minor fault that's easily repaired by a mechanic, I wish we could give people an estimate. Usually I'll tell a person, "We're not sure how long it will be until the ride reopens", when I can assume that it will be ready in 5 to 10 minutes or so. I'm waiting for my own amusement park where I can manage things the way I see fit. Too bad the world isn't that perfect.
  22. ^sigh, you said it. Try working at CGA on the day Invertigo stalled for 4 hours. I got so many people asking me what was wrong and why that area of the park was closed. Working with the GP is no cup of tea, especially when they're inclined to throw the tea right in your face.
  23. I just upgraded to Windows 7 yesterday. The one problem I've found is that the graphics on NL got messed up. I opened up the simulator and at the bottom was the following error message: "No 3D Hardware Acceleration Found!" Has anyone else had this problem with upgrading to Windows 7? If you have, how did you fix it? I'm not super computer savvy, so I'm not exactly what to do. MOD EDIT: Merged with NL Help Thread
  24. ^^Well, the Screamin' Swing isn't as old as Firefall. The swing has probably been around for like 3 or 4 years tops, but Firefall was at GL for practically 13 years before it came to CGA. I think the swing won't have as many problems.
