^While it would be nice if they could build a nice terrain hugging coaster, building on top of the mountain isn't exactly a bad thing either. IMO, half of the reason Tatsu is so amazing is because it's so high above the park and gives stunning views throughout the whole ride (and the Pretzel loop is mind blowing, yum). So if they could build an Intamin rocket, maybe it could work out well on top of the hill.

I visited Haunt tonight with my cousins, and business is really starting to pick up. It was surprisingly crowded tonight. Toy Factory's line was spilling out into the midway, and the other mazes had 20-30 minute waits at peak times. Also, Invertigo's line nearly reached the blue canopy at one point in the night, which took about 45 minutes due to slow dispatches (I don't blame the operators for this; from the perspective of a ride operator, you start to realize that guests can really slow things down). Despite the rather large crowds, we still had a fun night. If you're planning on checking out CGA's haunt, I recommend coming on a Friday or Sunday night if you can. Try to avoid any Saturday, because that's when the crowds really pile in. Now, if the crowds are already picking up this early in the month, I can only imagine how jam packed it's going to be as we get closer to Halloween. One thing is clear though: this event is really helping to bring guests in the park, and so far it looks like a success.

Electronica sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun! I also noticed that tonight, they're doing 3 performances of World of Color at 9, 10:15, and 11:15. Now that the peak season is over, let's see how long it takes for WOC Fastpasses to run out. I'm guessing that they'll still be available until late afternoon.

I got back from the employee Haunt preview a while ago. This year's event will be fun. A lot of the mazes are the same as last year, but with minor tweaking to make them better. My favorites are Slaughterhouse and Toy Factory. Also, I highly recommend trying out Black Widow's Cavern (Logger's Run). In my opinion, it's a major improvement over Camp Gonnagetcha (to which I wasn't a big fan in the first place). So yeah, defenitely come by to check out this year's Haunt. Say hi to me if you come to ride Invertigo.

Worst Coaster Ever?
Sunfire replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Agreed. CGA is my home park (and employer), and I agree that Vortex is one of the worst coasters I've been on. Though I'm not too fond of Colossus eather. -
Knott's Haunt - 2010 Enthusiast Event!
Sunfire replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Aww, I wish I could go. On Sunday, I'll be at CGA operating Invertigo for its own Haunt. -
^Agreed. If they can shut Fantasmic down for a few months to get work done, then they could easily do the same thing for World of Color. If the guests miss out on this show, then I guess it's too bad. Life's not fair. Of course, lets hope they don't do another show cancellation AFTER Fastpass distribution, Disney's already seen the awful results of that. Still, I just want the water back to its clear blue self. It added so much life to Paradise Pier.

USH - Halloween Horror Nights 2010 Media Day
Sunfire replied to wrs28330's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
^Regarding alcohol sales: I'm sure Universal in Orlando has their fair share of stupid people as well. I'm talking of course about the ones who have had too much to drink and are a nuisance (I still endorse Drunk Piers, he is absolutely NOT a nuisance). However, for the guests who just have one or two drinks, offering alcohol could be a big money maker for Universal. So I do think that USH could easily offer alcohol for HHN, as long as it's regulated properly. Regarding the event itself: I really wish I could make it down to Socal for HHN and maybe Fright Fest at SFMM. Unfortunately, I don't have the money to make it down there. Oh well, maybe next year. -
^Agreed about getting ice cream at the Burrbank shop. Still, nothing beats getting ice cream in a waffle bowl on Main Street. *Drools* Back on the topic of DCA though, I'm looking at these pictures of Paradise Bay, and I'm surprised that Disney hasn't done anything to fix this problem. It seems like Disney is more concerned with making sure World of Color operates every night than to figure out why the bay water has become so murky and unclear. What they really should do is put the show on hold (at least on off season weekdays, the show NEEDS to play on weekends), and do what they need to do. Disney really needs to figure out what's wrong and how to get rid of the algae. The water in it's current state is NOT up to Disney's standard of quality. In fact, it looks like a flume ride at any given Cedar Fair or Six Flags park.

^Yeah, the water's disgustingness is probably from the fire that get's spewed out every night. I know that on Firefall at CGA, the pond that lights on fire always looks grimy and pretty disgusting. What I don't understand is how Disney is able to keep the Rivers of America so clean and presentable, what with Fantasmic lighting the river on fire almost every night, yet Paradise Pier looks so horrible. Hopefully they can find the problem soon and fix it.

^Yeah, ever since the park retracked the ride, Grizzly has finally become rideable. While it's not nearly the best wooden coaster, it's worth at least one ride when visiting the park. I remember when I used to dread the bottom of the first drop because of how you would be slammed into your seat, but now it's not nearly as bad. Still, I'd rather take a spin on Terminator Salvation than Grizzly.

Aww. It sucks that they have effects in the show that just aren't working. Usually, it's the little things that really make me enjoy a show. Especially with World of Color. Like the inflatable projection screens you mentioned. All those small details add a little more depth to the show. Let's hope they can get all this small stuff working again. By the way, how crowded has the line been for Fastpasses, now that the peak summer season is over? Is it still really long, or has it settled down?

^If you're talking character driven, have you seen Next to Normal? It was directed by Michael Greif (Rent), and there's maybe 5 or 6 characters that you follow throughout the show. I watched it on youtube (can't wait to see it live in San Francisco), and it's GREAT! I'd highly recommend it since it really is character and story driven, and not all about spectacle.

I can't say I'm going to miss Pizza Oom Mow Mow, but I guess I am one of the few people that's going to miss Maliboomer. It wasn't that powerful of an S&S Tower, but I thought it was a fun ride to hit up since the single rider entrance got you on pretty fast. Like I said, I know I'm in the minority, but at least there's still Tower to enjoy.

Wow, this looks like one heck of an experience. But I think I'll pass. Sure, I'll try skydiving one day, and I can take any Skycoaster the amusement world can dish out. Hell, give me the Stratosphere's Skyjump and I'll try that. But bungee jumping, I don't know. There's just something about it that scares the crap out of me. Glad you enjoyed it though!
