  1. Call me crazy, but I don't see why all this money is being spent on a football team that has been losing for over a decade now.
  2. Batman's a great ride with constant g-forces throughout the whole ride. An SLC is mankind's punishment for sin.
  3. Try working at a Skycoaster. In four years, I heard some of the most hilarious crap come out of people's mouths as they were being winched up and immediately after pulling the ripcord. Now that's entertainment. I've never worked a Skycoaster, but working as a trainer (now supervisor) at CGA, I've had to talk to supervisors at our own, and everytime I walk by, hilarity ensues.
  4. Both my best and worst soakings were both at DLR. Best: At Disneyland, we decided to ride Splash Mountain because we wanted to take advantage of the short line at 11:30 at night. Little did I know at the time that the drops inside the ride building get you completely soaked! When we dropped into the Laughing Place, I got nailed head to foot. It was hilarious at first, but I defenitely regretted it since we had to walk back to our hotel at midnight soaking wet. Worth it to ride such a great flume with a short wait though. Earlier in the day it hit 90 minutes, and at night it was a walk on! Worst: At DCA, it was boiling hot. We decided to brave the 120 minute line for Grizzly River Run, hoping to get a nice soaking. I exited with not a drop on me. So disappointing. But then I learned my lesson to use the single rider line and be willing to ride with people you don't know if you really want to get wet.
  5. ^Yup, us twisted people like hearing screams of terror. Especially walking by Skycoasters.
  6. ^From a ride op's point of view, I'd rather they keep Sky Tower in the park. As it is, we already have enough parents complaining about high height requirements for the rides. Sky Tower is one of the family rides that doesn't have a height requirement, so it's one of the rides I can direct parents too. In that sense, Sky Tower should stay. Also, Sky Tower is one of the few Marriott era rides left. It should stay for sentimental reasons as well. I don't have any expectations at all. If you don't have your hopes up, you can't be disappointed.
  7. ^Yeah, at CGA on Invertigo, we would normally get about 350-450 per hour (at least when it wasn't broken down ).
  8. Yeah, I just don't understand why the height requirement for Gold Rusher is 48". I mean, Big Thunder's requirement is 40", and I think BTMRR is a bigger and faster ride. Not only that, but the first time I rode Gold Rusher was, like Robb said, because the line was short. I got on the ride and just before dispatch, one of the ride ops noticed a girl under 48". So they got her out and told her parent that she was too short. And of course, the dad got into an argument with them for over 5 minutes, completely halting the dispatch because he refused to leave the platform. All because the girl was around 44". By the time I exited the ride, the queue was nearly full! Seriously though, does the restraint system on Gold Rusher actually warrant a 48" height requirement?
  9. ^Or duel them like Dueling Dragons. Have the boomerangs make a close encounter where your feet are only 12 inches apart fromt the other train.
  10. On the subject of Riddler, I don't know if this has happened to anyone else. But last time I rode it back in September, the g-forces after the dive loops started to take a toll on my lower body, particularly my legs. After the Midcourse brake, My legs were in pain nearly the whole time and I kept trying to position my legs so they wouldn't be absorbing all the force. Has anyone else experienced leg pains while riding Riddler?
  11. ^I too have noticed the jolt while exiting the zero g roll on Flight Deck. That being said, even if Flight Deck is not butter smooth, it's still a great ride that is not painful in the least.
  12. ^That too sounds like an excellent idea. But of course, the GP always finds ways to get around anything. So man-eating Brer Bear it is.
  13. ^Yes, it's just too bad that the ride has gone down in quality since '91. I remember it used to be one of my favorite rides when I hit 54 inches, and now it's nearly unbearable. It's very sad.
  14. ^Yeah, I remember when on CGA's bumper cars, you used to be able to do head on bumping, but I guess too many people were getting whiplash. It's too bad, I always thought the most fun of riding bumper cars was having you and a friend on opposite sides of the ride hitting each other at full speed.
  15. Little Mermaid is looking great! Hopefully it'll be opening up in the summer so I can check it out in July!
  16. ^Ahh, I should have known to check out the index. Actually, those bumper cars don't look too bad. At least you can do head on bumping, unlike the one way bumper cars...
  17. ^I've never been on SFMM's Bumper Cars, how is the "arena" or whatever you call it? Does it have an island in the middle so that you can only go one way? I've seen so many bumper car rides neutered by that.
  18. ^Yes, but as you know, the GP have a nasty habit of breaking park rules. If you tell them to remain seated, they will stand up. Some guests think that since they're paying customers they can do whatever they want.
  19. I'm defenitely interested in heading down there for WCB, provided it doesn't clash with training dates up here at CGA.
  20. Wow, all these construction walls, and they're still managing to pull off WOC? That sounds like an even tighter situation for crowd control than the summer crowds.
  21. ^Surprisingly, Grizzly has gotten much better than it was in years past. It's no longer super rough, but it's still bumpy. However, night rides can be pretty enjoyable with all the night wind in your face.
  22. ^Sounds like a fun day at DCA, even though the construction is getting crazier. Since my family only has time to visit Disney in the summer, it's always crowded when I go. However, I learned that when World of Color starts, the lines for other rides get way shorter. Back in August, I walked on to Mulholland Madness whereas in the day it was a 45 minute wait.
  23. ^Yeah, it seems that even when parks don't have the best or fastest operations, the coaster's safety records are remarkable.
