On the subject of Riddler, it REALLY needs its other train(s). When I visited the park on a dead Wednesday, it was running one train, and waited over 30 mintues, and that was only the station. They really need that other train back. What will they do on a Saturday in July when the line stretches all the way out to the entrance? Then again, is SF really willing to pay for another train, considering the cuts they just made?

^That's what I was thinking. The park almost looks like it's returning to the Dark Ages (early 2000's). Once again, let's just hope it was a bad day. Besides, they have done so much to improve the park over the past few years. They took out the piece of junk Flashback, and replaced Psyclone with Termy. So over the past years, things have improved, but they could still be better. And the Apocalypse sign could have totally been made in 2 seconds in Photoshop, as Wes pointed out.

Ugh, the new preshow for Apocalypse just isn't that good (not that Terminator's was any better), but it just looks painful to be FORCED to watch. Like Robb said, hopefully this was just an off day for them. But if this is just an off day, then we can't really be super mad at them. Every park has those days where things just aren't going right. Disney, Six Flags, Cedar Fair, they all suffer days where things go wrong. That being said, this TR was pretty sad to see. The park wasn't nearly this cluttered in early September. In fact, the park was pretty dead and they had 2 trains running on both Tatsu and X2. It's way too early to tell if this was just a bad day, or a sign that the Dark Ages of SFMM in the early 2000's are returning. I just hope that this mess gets cleaned up soon and that the park will go back to good operations.

^I wouldn't ride Riddlers anyway considering it's been running 1 train for a while now. Otherwise, it's a really fun coaster.

YES! I would sit there and watch a half-empty train go around the track while the line was 30-40 minutes long! WTH?! Come to think of it, when I visited the park in June (On a Saturday mind you), my friends and I waited in line for nearly 2 hours, and I did see some less than filled trains, which made me think, "Come on, I could do better than that!". Then again, what do I know about ride operations? I only won CGA's Ride Op of the Year award (I don't mean to brag, just making a point). EDIT: Okay, sorry that got off topic about the liscense change. Let's discuss the theming removal again.

The worst part about the pre-show wasn't even that it existed, it was how they FORCED everyone to watch it...while they would send around half empty trains in the station. Last time I was at the park this was STILL happening. It's fine if you want to have a pre-show to give people something to look at while in the queue, but don't "hold up" people to watch a pre-show for a ride that doesn't require any explanation. Ugh, capacity nightmare much? Since I've been working at CGA for 3 years now, I know that when lines get long, you have to fill the trains up as much as humanly possible. Were they sending out half empty trains even when the lines were crazy?

Jin Jiang Action Park to install GIB
Sunfire replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's great that Vekoma is getting more service, but I don't really care for GIB's. I rode Deja Vu at SFMM, and like most people, I don't like the seating arrangement. My favorite seating arrangement for shuttle coasters just happens to be Vekoma Invertigos. I love the seats facing each other. Perhaps if Vekoma could fit a GIB with an Invertigo style train, it might be more enjoyable. -
^Yeah, Gold Rusher's a pretty fun ride, but I would only ride it if it were a station wait or less. I've been on X2 once, and it was absolutely crazy. I'm a pretty big guy, and I sat in the back row. I expected it to be rough, but it wasn't so bad for me. The only part that really jolted me was the raven turn at the end. It was almost like trying to stay on a mechanical bull, and failing miserably. Overall, X2 is the craziest and most intense ride in the park, but I have to say that for overall experience, Tatsu is my favorite coaster in the park. Its smooth and fluid maneuvers set it apart from any other coaster I've ridden.

Last night at Haunt, the park was decently crowded. I was working at Survivor, and the line was about 30 minutes. At Toy Factory, they decided to add more rope switchbacks since the line got so long last week, but I didn't see the line pass the entrance. At Cornstalkers, the line was all the way out to the entrance and occasionally a few feet out. Tonight we can expect really large crowds if the rain stays away.

^Yes, come to Invertigo and say hi to me! Also, keep in mind that since it still might rain, there may be some ride closures. I know that Invertigo stays open in the rain, and I believe Demon and Flight Deck go down to one train in rainy weather. I'm not sure if Psycho Mouse will be open due to multiple cars running on the track. So yeah, other than that, the mazes should not have long waits tonight since everyone was driven away by the weather.

Wow, sounds like Invertigo had a crazy line! Good thing I wasn't working, would have been a nightmare dealing with that. If it was only using some of the switchbacks, it was probably around a 75-80 minute wait. That's how long it was when the ride reopened after it's loooong hiatus. Still, I love hearing about the park being crowded once again. It really is depressing to work when crowd levels are so low.

^^Wow! It looks like things are really picking up for Haunt. Friday night, Invertigo's line nearly reached the blue canopy and I saw that Toy Factory had a full queue, so business is booming this season at Haunt. ^I'll be working tonight at Haunt (I'm a ride op at Invertigo), so come by and say hi to me! Just look for the nametag that says Matthew and you'll find me.
