  1. - Every ride at KI beginning with The Bat - At HW, Legend & Voyage - At CP, Magnum, Raptor, Millenium Force, Dragster - At GL, X-Flight - At BGW, Curse Of DarKastle - At DW, Mystery Mine ...And by the end of this season I'll also have Maverick and The Meteor (Little A-Merrick-A). There's probably a couple of others, but I can't remember for sure.
  2. I'd forgotten all about Dominator's ending, it does rock! For me, best reason to go to GL, other than Villain and Dipper.
  3. Father sitting in the principals office: I can't f**cking figure out where he f**cking learned to talk s**t like that!" Parenting 101?...probably a little too late on this one.
  4. Rob Graves said: "truth is... nothing like this can be caused by steroids." I don't know where I could've ever got the idea that steroids may have been involved...I did read in at least on article that they did find steroids in the house. As far as the article saying they think it's "...wrong for speculators to suggest that steroids had anything to do with these senseless acts", I don't feel that way. With the WWE/WWF's past troubles with steroid abuse in it's athletes I think it's totally justified to ask questions, and speculate. As far as Benoit himself, we now know that it was all very much premeditated, (and as a fan of his for 20+ years that really saddens me). All I was ever saying was that if he DID have steroids in his system...it sure couldn't help matters! I never said steroids were the cause for all of this tragedy! I apologize if I was misunderstood. Rob Graves said: "and the use of steroids in wrestling PALES in comparison to other sports..." Considering that that may be true, the only reason would be because there are fewer wrestlers out there to use them, in comparison to all the major league sports, (MLB, NBA, NHL and NFL). And where would I ever get the idea that steroids would've been used in wrestling? Maybe when Vince McMahon and the WWF, (at the time) were drug into federal court and had to be investigated by the government on steroid charges. A fate that still follows them today, as they are still regularly investigated. Some of you may remember because Hulk Hogan testified against McMahon in the trial. Rob Graves said: You didn't hear of people blaming steroids when OJ killed his wife? Yeah, probably because nobody really had any reason to believe OJ would've used steroids. In wrestling, it's a curse that follows the entire sports entertainment genre. Even today, with some of the hulking monsters out there in the business...it's a much deserved reputation. Rob Graves said: "never A$$-U/ME" Why single me out? Have you read this thread? I'm not the only person speculating/A$$uming. Lastly, when I was "speculating" none of the details we know now had come to light...remember that, please.
  5. This is pure speculation, at least to some point, but I suspect there'll be more along the lines of long-term steroid abuse, (he was probably no stranger to pain killers either with his slew of neck problems over the years) that will come to the surface. Steroid and pain killer abuse can bring about incredible bouts of rage. In the long term, it can affect the user mentally too. Another wrestler mentioned earlier, Brian Pillman, was a prime example. In his last 2-3 years of life he became so psychotic in his speech, actions, etc. he was let go because he basically could no longer fuction. Another real life example is Kurt Angle. A whole string of injuries dating back to the '96 Olympics when he one the gold medal with a broken neck. Then he chose to take up pro wrestling where he would be injured again and again. So much his own wife said she was afraid she'd see him die during a match someday. When he left WWE for TNA last year he admitted his addiction to pain killers. He was told by doctors he probably should even be alive since he was ingesting somewhere between 70-80 pills a day. Back to the Benoit case, police said earlier they did find antibolic steroids in the house, as well as, dozens of prescription bottles. Whether this led in part to the happenings...I don't know. I'm still just floored by all of this!
  6. Like many others...Chris Benoit inspired me when he wrestled. He was what you wanted to see in the ring. The wrestler who did everything to the best of his ability. Nothing was second rate about a Chris Benoit match. Chris was always said to be a very private man at home, while we who watched him knew him as extremely determined and even more intense. You didn't see the "Rabid Wolverine" smile much, but when he did you were bound to see the snaggle-toothed grin. This news just completely floored me. I remember back in the 80's hearing about this kid coming up in Stu Hart's dreaded dungeon named Chris Benoit. Hearing that he was early on being touted as the next Bret "Hitman" Hart. Then for the next twenty years getting to see this man wrestle...I have to say he may be the only man IMO to be a better all-around technician than Bret Hart. He will be missed. RIP Chris Benoit 1967-2007
  7. But there we go back to the whole cheerleaders at school sporting events vs. competition cheerleaders! There is a HUGE difference between a pep rally and competition.
  8. Nope! You're not the only one.
  9. Worst - Adventure Express (Tie) The Italian Job Best - The Voyage
  10. When me and my wife took some of the kids in our youth group to King's Island a few years ago one of the girls had a memorable experience. She had never rode Tomb Raider before because of being scared, but we convinced her to finally ride. I frequent this ride and know there are some seats that get wetter than others by the water/lava jets during the ride. Myself and a couple of the guys positioned her in the center of our group near the middle of the gondola. During the ride when the water jets hit I looked over and she was not just getting sprayed like I'd hope...she was getting doused, totally soaked. The best part was that she freaked at first, then just began laughing, and telling us all we were dead. I still tease her about it today.
  11. Great TR Cameron! Two parks that I really never get to see much of normally. Now, I want to get down there even more than ever. Thanks especially for the cave tour and CC coaster pics.
  12. As a cheer dad I spend almost as much time traveling to cheer comps as I do amusement parks...so maybe I'm a bit biased ...but I honestly can't see how anyone could see comp. cheer as anything but sport. The amount of time our daughters team spends training at the gym, as well as, at home is enough to be considered sport by itself. Plus, as the girls get older they're encouraged to spend time lifting weights 3-4 days a week on top of their practice time. My daughter is only 7, so the weightlifting doesn't apply to her as of yet. But she definently treats it as a sport. I'm not trying to change minds, just giving a POV.
  13. Easily the best TR I've read at TPR. So, many great jokes to go with the great pics. Other than the list of linejumpers my personal favorites were the lines about "...even the park benches own Mean Streak!" and the one about Draggin' Iron being the official monorail of CP! Great stuff!
  14. BIcoastal kid said: So basically, to summarize, "The 'killed' him because saying he was ill wasn't macho enough for the audience"? You nailed it! If you know about the true life ego of Vince McMahon then you know this attitude isn't a stretch. I think the only reason I find it disgusting is, (Yes, I do realize it's FAKE!) it was really an unnecessary extreme to go to for a "wrestling" show. You don't turn on wrestling with the thought that somebody will be blown up in their car. Someone getting cracked with a steel chair, yeah! My son is none the wiser to this whole thing though. He was already in bed, (which is a good thing since the kid is totally freaked out by fire, fireworks, explosions, etc. even if they are on TV!).
  15. Thanks for the video! For me, the name and the theme have always peeked my interest. Now to see in action, I can say it doesn't disappoint on video, just wish it were closer. This has been one of the coasters that I've been looking at with a lot of interest, (even though I'll probably never ride it anytime soon!). It is loud, but that thing is flyin'. Hope I do get a chance to ride it someday, along with just about every other coaster in Europe. Taco Bell...it's not just a restaurant...it's a night in the bathroom. (Sorry Shavethewhales, I couldn't resist )
  16. I do watch wrestling, (mainly TNA over on Spike TV and Ring Of Honor), and I know it's an angle, and know that nobody is really dead, here's why it's all going down as told to me by a friend who worships WWE. - In real life, most will remember back in April at Wrestlemania McMahon lost his hair as a stipulation in a match to Donald Trump. What I'm told is that it was an angle they went with since McMahon would be undergoing chemotherapy for an unspecified form of cancer. Basically, use it to their advantage. - Next was the long, drawn out feud between McMahon and wrestler Bobby Lashley, (who was the wrestler who caused McMahon to lose his hair in the angle). - Then, this past Monday night was the killing off of McMahon for the reason of him needing an unspecified amount of time to deal with the cancer. At this time, it is being said that McMahon may never return to the business, but retire and lay low from here on out. - His younger daughter Stephanie, (who is married to WWE superstar Triple H) is expected to assume her dads role very soon. - As of earlier today, I saw for myself over on http://www.sescoops.com that the WWE is planning to drop this whole "McMahon death" angle ASAP due to the controversy it's been causing with people who think it was pretty unnecessary, or like myself, just plain disgusting. Another factor was the real life death of former womens champion Sherri Martel yesterday (6/15/07)
  17. I would still have to say mine is Voyage's triple-down...but I will be gaining a ton of credits this summer so that's probably going to change.
  18. I have to retract my original answer and agree Scaparri now. For whatever reason I didn't even think beyond MF in 2000. But from your short list here I rode all of those except Boss, and that made for a great year. Plus, it was my first trip to Holiday World and my first trip to WDW. So sadly enough, 2007 will have to take a seat at #2 now.
  19. So far, hands down for me...this season! 1) Mystery Mine 2) Maverick 3) Renegade ...maybe even Flying Turns by the end of the season!
  20. Last year at that crappy deer park near Sandusky me and my mom were both targets of the deer. They cornered me, and I retaliated by throwing the whole bag of food over their heads and moving in the opposite direction. They got more physical with my mom when one actually gave her a little nip on the backside. Supposedly, the owner was shutting the place down at the end of last season because he could no longer afford to keep it open. I truly hope so, I felt bad for the animals...they seemed very neglected.
  21. I also would usually be very biased toward HW, but in this case, since your kids have been to HW before, and they are 11 and 12, I'd say take 'em to SFOG this time. Though nothing is nearly comparable quality-wise to HW, you do have more options close by SFOG. - More rides/attractions to choose from at SFOG, (I'm personally thinking Goliath, Mindbender, and Monster Plantation esp.) - Though it's a separate admission you do have "Whitewater" nearby. - If you're going to be there several days you have the Georgia Aquarium, Braves Baseball, as well as, tons of other sightseeing ideas. - Restaurants, (and civilization in general)...one of my favorites is "The Varsity" a definite Atlanta-favorite too. ...But the one big negative that still remains about SFOG is that it will never, ever be Holiday World!
  22. Apparently, snakes like amusement/theme parks too. When we were at BGE two years ago we had to wait to get off the boat while a sunbathing snake was pushed off the dock. And last year at Coastermania we were walking alongside Iron Dragon and spotted a snake slithering along the edge of ID's moat. I remember walking up to a girl and her friends and saying, "Don't move and please don't scream, but there is a snake about 6 inches behind you". Her friends who were facing the moat got these horrid looks on their faces, and she knew for sure I wasn't joking around. But there was no problem...it sat there for 10-15 seconds, then slithered away and back into the water. Man, I hate snakes!!
  23. Never really have gotten to see much from DL in the past. Thanks to you Nicole I now know that getting to DL is not an immediate priority. But it is a park that does look like a good visit someday.
  24. I envy you people who call Valleyfair home. We get a recycled flyer (Firehawk), and you get this thing of beauty known as Renegade! What an awesome looking coaster...treat her good!
  25. Here are a couple of things from this article I was absolutely loving!... 1) "I feel that I was treated unfairly and that the sentence is both cruel and unwarranted. I don't deserve this," she said. 2) Hilton, the star of "The Simple Life" reality television show, must report to the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood by June 5 or risk being ordered to serve 90 days in jail. ...Man, I hope she doesn't get the message until June 6th! Paris Hilton fires manager blamed for jail sentence Mon May 7, 12:33 PM ET LOS ANGELES (AFP) - Paris Hilton has parted company with her long-time manager who she blamed for the events that led to her jail sentence for driving on a suspended license, reports said Monday. The celebrity socialite was handed a 45-day stay in prison after a dramatic Los Angeles court hearing on Friday where she was found to have violated her parole for drink-driving by twice taking to the wheel while banned. Hilton, 26, testified that she had only been driving on the advice of her manager Elliot Mintz, who she claimed had told her she was allowed to drive and that police officers who had stopped her must be mistaken. In a statement reported by celebrity website TMZ.com, Mintz said he accepted the blame for the "misunderstanding" which means the Hilton hotel heiress will spend over six weeks in jail starting from June 5. Mintz said in the statement he had sent an email to Hilton "offering my sincerest apology for any misunderstanding she received from me regarding the terms of her probation." "I am deeply and profoundly sorry. I told her that I assume personal responsibility for my part in this matter," Mintz said, adding that he was convinced Hilton had told the truth in court. "I believe when stated in court that she believed it was OK for her to drive under certain circumstances she was being absolutely truthful. "Paris is a wonderful person and does not deserve the punishment that was handed down by the court." In her first comments since receiving the prison sentence, Hilton told photographers camped outside her home in the Hollywood Hills on Saturday that she had been treated unfairly. "I feel that I was treated unfairly and that the sentence is both cruel and unwarranted. I don't deserve this," she said. Hilton, the star of "The Simple Life" reality television show, must report to the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood by June 5 or risk being ordered to serve 90 days in jail. Hilton's lawyer Howard Weitzman, said he will appeal the sentence which he described as "uncalled for, inappropriate and bordering on the ludicrous."
