Thrillrideseeker said: "But will she really be in there the entire 45 days? Will her parents not like buy her way out?" I really believe she will have to serve the entire sentence. I think this judge, along with most of the country is tired of seeing these celebs get off easy all the time. If anything I think PH is being made an example. ...but there is a bad side too! Arrowfanman said: "This bitch is now guarenteed media coverage for the 45 days, thus raising her value. If you all remember, Martha Stewart receieved 2 shows and other various additions to her empire after her sentence." Yes, by this fall, we'll be seeing more of PH than we ever have before!

You can read the whole thing if you want, but this is the only thing I needed to read. "...must go to jail on June 5 and she will not be allowed any work release, furloughs, use of an alternative jail or any electronic monitoring in lieu of jail", Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ruled after a hearing. LOS ANGELES - A judge sentenced Paris Hilton to 45 days in jail Friday for violating her probation, putting the brakes on the hotel heiress' famous high life. Hilton, who parlayed her name and relentless partying into worldwide notoriety, must go to jail on June 5 and she will not be allowed any work release, furloughs, use of an alternative jail or any electronic monitoring in lieu of jail, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ruled after a hearing. The judge ruled that she was in violation of the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case. "I'm very sorry and from now on I'm going to pay complete attention to everything. I'm sorry and I did not do it on purpose at all," she told the judge before he announced the sentence. She was then ordered to report to a women's jail in suburban Lynwood on the set date or face 90 days behind bars. As a city prosecutor said during closing arguments that Hilton deserved jail time, Hilton's mother, Kathy, laughed. When the judge ruled, Kathy Hilton then blurted out: "May I have your autograph?" Paris Hilton was among a series of witnesses who took the stand during the hearing. She maintained she was unaware her license was suspended and thought she was allowed to drive for work purposes. She said that when an officer who stopped her in January made her sign a document stating her license was suspended, she thought he was mistaken and did not actually look at the document. Hilton arrived at the courthouse 10 minutes after the scheduled 1:30 p.m. start time of the hearing. The heiress arrived in the back of a black Cadillac Escalade and swept into the Metropolitan Courthouse with several men in suits, ignoring screams of photographers lining the route into a rear entrance. In addition to her mother, her father, Rick, also came with her. Wearing a gray jacket and white shirt over black slacks and with a black headband on, she said nothing and appeared serious. The celebrity case brought an unusual scene to the austere courthouse south of downtown in a commercial area. As if at a red-carpet event, dozens of photographers and reporters lined up at the rear entrance. Yellow police tape substituted for velvet ropes. Hilton, 26, pleaded no contest in January to reckless driving stemming from a Sept. 7 arrest in Hollywood. Police said she appeared intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test. She had a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent, the level at which an adult driver is in violation of the law. She was sentenced to 36 months probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines. Two other traffic stops and failure to enroll in a mandated alcohol education program are what landed the socialite back in court. On Jan. 15, Hilton was pulled over by California Highway Patrol. Officers informed her that she was driving on a suspended license and she signed a document acknowledging that she was not to drive, according to papers filed in Superior Court. Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies stopped Hilton on Feb. 27 and charged her with violating her probation. Police said she was pulled over at about 11 p.m. after authorities saw the car speeding with its headlights off. Hilton's spokesman, Elliot Mintz, said at the time Hilton wasn't aware her license was suspended. A copy of the document Hilton signed on Jan. 15 was found in the car's glove compartment, court papers say. Hilton was also required to enroll in an alcohol education program by Feb. 12. As of April 17, she had not enrolled, prosecutors said. Hilton, heiress to the Hilton Hotel fortune, first gained notoriety for her hard partying as a teen. She attracted worldwide attention when a sex tape she made with a boyfriend was released on the Internet. She stars in the reality-TV series, "The Simple Life," now in its fifth season, with Nicole Richie. She appeared in the 2005 film, "House of Wax" and recently finished filming "The Hottie and the Nottie." She also is a handbag designer and has a namesake perfume. ___ Associated Press Writer Daisy Nguyen contributed to this report.

Great America/Indiana Beach advice
Chadley replied to Chadley's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You two really hit some things I didn't know anything about. We were already planning on going to the Shedd, we've heard so many good things about it. A Cubs game was something I hadn't thought of too. And now after all these years of seeing IKEA's on tv I can visit one! Thanks for verifying what other had told me about the travel time between Chitown and IB. -
For the second year in a row we've had to postpone going to Wisconsin Dells for financial reasons, (when gas costs as much as it does nationwide people don't want to buy your engines after a while!). We have decided we can do SFGAm and Shedd Aquarium/Navy Pier. Since we are from Dayton, OH we thought we might hit Indiana Beach on our way home. My questions? 1. What is the drive time between the two parks, is it out of the way, or right along the way? 2. Are there any other smaller/lesser known parks we can hit around these two parks, or between these two parks? Kiddieland? 3. Are there any rides/attractions a 3 1/2 year old to do at IB? 4. Any other fun ideas for things to do around Chicago that are low cost/free? Not necessarily amusement parks! Any help would be so appreciated!

Theme Parks on Television
Chadley replied to Bubba83's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Starting at 2pm this Sunday, April 1st Travel Channel will be showing just about every Disney-related show they have have, including 4-5 episodes of "Great Hotels", each focusing on a different Disney Resort. I'm recording the whole day to watch later since I'll be at Dollywood that day, but it goes into repeats even past midnight. -

Theme Parks on Television
Chadley replied to Bubba83's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
DVR'ed the new '07 waterpark show last weekend, now I/we can only hope that will lead to some new coaster specials around Memorial Day weekend. With all the building that went on last season, and what's being built right now, you'd think that there would be no shortage of things to film. Here's to hoping! Anyone ever heard anything else about the wood coaster show featuring El Toro, Voyage, and KY Rumbler? Will it ever be shown state-side? Or be available to purchase? -

Awesome TR Derek & Nicole! One question for anybody out there. What is the "Great Movie Ride"? I never hear much about it, and when we were there last in '01 it was closed. -
Not only am I blown away at how nice Zingo looks, but also how nice the parking lot looks! Maybe it's just the parks I frequent...but that's a well maintained and clean lot. God I'm getting weird!

SOB New Trains from Myrtle Beach
Chadley replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can't believe that KI would put those on SOB. For now I'll hope and pray they go on Racer or Beast if this story is true. -
Here's to looking at the future. Hope they can pull it off, I'd like to visit parks like this more often. Here in Southwestern-Ohio we only have Stricker's Grove left, and we onlt get to enjoy them 2-3 days a year. Not profitable? I've been following the story for a while now, and now that I've seen these pics I know for sure there was a whole lot of funny business going on with kicking Bell's out of there. I wish Robby Bell and all the others involved with the park the best of luck in re-locating.

New Indoor Waterpark In Cincinnati!
Chadley replied to PKI Jizzman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Are you thinking of the new Great Wolf Lodge @ Cincinnati? Castaway Bay is 3 1/2 - 4 hours away in Sandusky. Looks pretty cool, but I don't think GWL has much to worry about. If it's anything like the CoCo Key at Newark, Ohio, (which my guess is that it will since their both part of the same chain), then it will really cater to the toddler/older children set. No water coasters, royal flushes, or huge thrill slides. But still, I'm glad their coming! -
Hey Chuck! I was the same way when I first saw Spaceship Earth back in '01. I thought I would pee myself, (same with Magic Kingdom & Space Mountain). But really...it can be very overwhelming. My grandma used to bring us back those postcard books everytime she visited down there, and I longed to get there more most of my life. It took until I was 30 to get there, now I want to get back there in a big way!

What's the worst song you ever heard?...
Chadley replied to Movieguy's topic in Random, Random, Random
While I liked singing along with "Crazy" when it first came out, it really has been overplayed formonths now. And their performance at the Grammy's last night was totally irritating to me. But the Chili Peppers saved the night for me. -
SeaWorld San Antonio Discussion Thread
Chadley replied to apollo210's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sea World knew what they were doing. Kelly and I rode front seat of JTA at SWO, and our shoes were so water-logged after we got off, we stopped by their strategically placed gift shop and dished out about $30 for two pairs of flip-flops. Coincidence? I think not! -

I really hate myself for knowing this...but it's Billy Ocean, and I believe the title is "Get Out Of My Dreams".
