Southern Ohio Help
Skramp replied to BrownStreak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Montgomery County Fair in Dayton, OH will be running so you can get some ghetto credits. What about heading down to Kentucky Kingdom? Only about 2 hours from KI down 71 to Louisville? -
Damn!! I think I need more beer after that one!!

PTR: Natatomic and All Clear go to Deadwood
Skramp replied to natatomic's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Haha, good PTR Nat, really cool. And hell yes I saw Spaced Invaders!!! Great movie, especially when they go to trick or treat. Did the park have a bit of a "Deliverance" feel to it? -
I liked the fact their was a "restraint lock" button, but it seemed the only restraint was a seat belt. Am I wrong? But that coaster does look messed up, I could see the US version having a huge cage over the tub to keep everyone inside.

What franchise should Six Flags tackle next?
Skramp replied to arson's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
They already had that, they changed Flashback at SFMM to Wonder Woman a few years ago. Everyone thought it was SBNO, but really it just had invisible trains!! -
Dear O mighty and powerful Title fairy of the TPR forums......May I please have a new title, one the reflects something other than a loser that used to place horrible posts on these forums. I ask of you on bended knee for a more fitting title.

Ok Kennywierd, I wasn't going to say anything, but after reading through the entire thread, I feel I have to post something directed at you. You have NO idea what you are talking about. I have 2 year old twin boys. I know that if I turn my head for a second, they will be gone. They are my kids, they are my responsibility, they are my life. I'm not allowed to have a bad moment. I have to be on my toes at all times when they are awake. In case you don't know, that's called being a parent. If my kids were in that bouncy house, I would be standing directly at the exit waiting for them to get out. They wouldn't have a chance to run off anywhere. That's what a responsible parent would do. You don't take your kids and just "drop them off" and assume they are ok. I hold the parents responsible. There are no "do-overs" when it comes to being a parent, there are no second chances. If you can conceive the child, then you should conceive of taking the next 18 years protecting that child. As the child grows, they become more responsible and independent, but at 2, you have to stay directly by their side all the time, no questions asks. I'm shocked and appalled by your comments and non-caring attitude. I hope that when you father a child, you have a sense of what it truly means. Let me lay it out this way, I have had 2 nights to myself in the past 2 years. It's called parenthood. If that doesn't sound good, don't participate. PS-The fence is only a small barrier, come spend 10 mins with my boys and they will show you how easy it is to overcome. Which brings me to another point. If the child was able to get by the fence, and knowing my kids. It would have taken about a minute or so for them to figure out how to get around it (maybe squeeze between the bouncy house and fence) and then be heading towards the coaster. That would tell me that the parents left the kid alone without checking for more than a few minutes. No matter what the reasoning, that is unforgivable.

Got my DVD today of Raw 3, and it's incredible!!! Just finished watching disc 2, gonna start on disc one now. But so far it's great. I love how every once in a while you will hear Robb go "Wheeeee" in his best girly voice. My one question, was Viper at SFGAM really as rough as it seems in the vid? The camera bounces so much the whole time!! I found it crazy that some of the coasters had such a short lifespan. I would have to think the park never really got any return on their investments. And XLR-8 seems pretty boring. I love that you included the bobsleds in there!!! Great vids again!!! And thanks for the pen!!, I'll send a few of my company pens back in return. **Post Edit** Just watched the Texas Tornado part......did it feel like you were having seizure to anyone else? It was so jerky and skippy. Man, that gave me a headache!!!

Photo TR: Hollycombe. Ye Olde English steam powered rides
Skramp replied to LaurenceUK's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Wait, we are almost through one page of replies and no one has said "Bench:The Ride?" What's wrong with this site? Haha, but that's was my first thought when I saw Razzle Dazzle. Anyway, it's really cool to see all those old rides. -
Not to steal your thunder, but there are already some arenas and stadiums using this kind of technology, but it's actually more advanced. You can order baseball tickets over your phone and then scan the barcode directly from your phone into the entry kiosk for entry into the stadium, you never ever have a paper ticket. But also, a few places have it advanced even more where if you log in and a transmitter recognizes your phone and tickets while in the entry plaza, it can prompt you to upgrade to better seats right then. It's kind of scary/cool "big-brotherish." Tickets.Com

Look down at your keyboard, I'd like to introduce you to a few keys. First is the Shift keys, they help you capitalize letters. Second is the backspace key, it will help you erase mistakes. Other keys you should learn about are the comma, period and enter key. Thanks for posting. One of these I gotta get up to Darien Lake area, it sounds wonderful!!

I love the fact that on the back of both brochures, it say "gas information." Because they are from 1980, it was during/just after the gas shortages. Nice of them to give you a number to call. I love the old brochures Shane, keep them coming!!! -
Bull's Old Park Photos, and other random stuff
Skramp replied to Bull's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Those are amazing pics, regardless of the color. I believe for LeSourdville/Americana you are referring to Fantasy Farm. It was a seperate park that was a different admission. But thanks for the pics, they are great, keep posting!! -

Pictures of my trips in 2008
Skramp replied to egffreak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think he was taking us a picture journey through the lands of He-Man, The Snorks and Thundercats. At least that's what I got from the pictures. -
So here's my question....If all the investors and companies lost everything in the park, how painful is it going to be to get support for the rides and infastructure already in place? I mean if B&M only got $2 million for Led Zeppelin, are they really gonna help the new owners with any problems or maintenance? Realistically, what would the companies stand to gain?

Thorpe Park Discussion Thread
Skramp replied to Rooey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was excited with the original annoucement, but feel really let down at the finished product. It seems like they really didn't worry about theming the ride itself. Hopefully the que area will be heavily themed, but I only saw two or three theme items throughout the ride. If they would have put this indoors, they could have done amazing things with it. Just looks like kind of a let down. -

Yo Gabba Gabba Rocks!!! My boys watch that everyday. It's a pretty interesting show that will leave adults feeling like they have just downed an 8-ball after watching it, but it keeps the kids entertained. My only problem with it is that one of the main guys looks like a knobby sex toy. Watch it, you'll figure out which one it is. If you want something else to show your kids, try Gustafer Yellowgold. Listen to some of the music, it's catchy and wont leave your head for days!!! Mano.bmp Um........yeah!
