Looks interesting, but you are basically building 2 coasters 90 degrees from each other. I can't imagine how expensive that will be and that will definitely be a very hard seling point. I mean, will a park spend 20 mil on a B&M or 30 mil on an unproven concept that may become the Bat V2? It really does look cool and interesting, but I think the overall costs are going to be very prohibitive to any park.

Shane's Amusement Attic

Those are great Shane!! I love seeing the old, hand drawn ride and coaster pictures, those are so great. -
Come on people! As soon as they rebuild "Touchdown Jesus" they will have a "midwestern pilgrimage" all in place for those with extra cash. You can have your picture taken with the new "Follow Me" jesus, then head on down and visit the ark. Then maybe you can head over to WV and hold a vigil for trapped miners? And in OH, there are a lot of abortion clinics so always bring your signs for a protest. But anyway, this place will be a great lure for youth groups and church picnics. I think it might succeed, kind of the way Americana did for a long time. The one thing I wonder is if it will "steal" the Religious concert thingy that KI has every year.....and if so....is that a sin?

My Black Friday shipment!
Skramp replied to Skramp's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^On my envelope it says $3.62 for postage, so not that bad for a bunch of DVDs. -
Huh? So as a college educated person, this makes no sense? Adam & Eve got together and created Noah's family which was 8 people? And those 8 people got together (inbreeding) and magically created 6 different human variations (I guess it depending who was on top)? I guess you had to hear the lecture, but that picture alone is enough to drive you bonkers.

I thought it might be cool to see what others ordered from the TPR Black Friday sale. So here's what I got: Roller Coasters in the Raw Vol. 2,4 and 5. I also got 3 mints, a pen and some brochures! Thanks Robb!

Ordered the DVD and also ordered the Digital Download of the steel. Gotta say the split screen with Steel Hawg and Mumbo Jumbo is really cool. Great Vid Robb, another stellar production and release!! The more I watch, the more I wonder......like, I wonder if there are "fail safes" in place for Blue Fire that if the doors don't open before the launch, does the ride shut down so you are not propelled into the closed doors? Just weird things to think about. And why does it sound like there's a marble rolling around inside the train on Tennessee Tornado?

This is so hilarious! Maybe Kat thought she got a month's free buffet at Golden Corral with the purchase of a roller coaster!?! But seriously, has anyone else thought about the guy she bought it from? He has to just be laughing his arse off with every post she makes knowing that nothing will ever happen. It's said, but like Robb has said from the beginning, this is not something for amateurs, and they are just proving why with every move they make. -
Videos About Coasters.
Skramp replied to Movieguy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have all of these also. I believe there was the "American" one, then another "International one and I think there was another also. But most of all, the best vids are the TPR produced ones. Some vids tend to drag on, but the TPR mix the right amount of off-ride, comedy bits that make the vids fly by. -
Could it be the weight difference of the cars? Since mass is figured into the equation, if one set of cars weighs more than the other, that could affect it's speed. Correct?

Looks fun!! I'm gonna start a pool right now though on how long til the cable breaks? Also, a small side bet on when the first person has a heart attack or loses an eye? Any takers. I love speed, but at what point does it just become about being fast and not enjoyable? Sorry to be a downer, but I'd gladly take a great, themed attraction over that anyday. -

How about everyone bring a gas can, we can throw a match and sing "Kumbaya" while having "Hands around the Big Dipper." I with everyone else, this seems like something thrown together with no plan in place. I will give them to the 10th, but with NE Ohio winters, it doesn't give them much time. And to say "anyone with a pickup truck....." sounds SO unprofessional. It screams of amateurism at it's best. I wish them the best and would love to see it saved. But am I willing to donate time or money, no. Maybe next they can buy Son of Beast and move that also. My brother has a pick up truck and lives close, he could help with that one. And for everyone getting angry, remember you are fighting with people with years and years of experience of knowledge in this industry, your comebacks are only making the effort look worse and worse. -

Looks like a cool little park, but honestly it looks like something straight out of RCT. I mean even down to the generic ride names. Reminds me of LeSourdsville Lake. -

^ Yes, they had a himalaya ride, or a bayern curve. I can't remember exactly where it was, but I want to say close to where King Kobra was. As far as Skylab, it was great and in a great location. Flight Commader was awesome!! So much fun. If my memory is right, a drunk lady fell out and died on it the same day one or two other people fell into the lake by the beer gardens and got electrocuted. Demon was great, except for the walk up the stairs. I remember thinking how cool it was at that time. The Monorail ride was great, but was an upcharge. Nice to sit in AC for 30 mins or so and see some animals. They did a really god job of hiding the "caging" of the animals and looked liked they were just roaming around. And the Zodiac (i think) was where the swings are now, I think. -

I went to the OH fair a couple of years ago, but didn't ride anything, and went like 6 years ago and rode a ton of stuff!! If you go, you have to hunt down the $1 hot dog stand. Always 1 or 2 there and so worth it. I remember the one building we nicknamed "As Seen On TV" showcase because they had every damn informercial product in their and would be demonstarting them all the time, quite the visual stimulus. Did they still have the Chaos? I rode that a few years ago and it was on some kind of insane cycle, I can't remember ever being that dizzy off of one of those before. Great pictures though, looks like fun! -
What does it cost a park to operate a ride?
Skramp replied to John Peck's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, I would guess they save a bunch on eletricity to power the station, electronics and lift hill motor. Repair they are saving a ton on since that SOB always needed repair. Other than that, probably not much more savings. The workers that would normally be there probably work elsewhere in the park. And they have to keep insurance on it in case it burns down, some idiot jumps the fence and gets or other reasons. And don't forget, whatever they are saving by not having it running they are paying right back out to settle lawsuits.
