Did Summers/Dinn make ANY good coasters?
ScottBrown replied to Movieguy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I do believe that PTCs do play a role in the deterioration of the track be it from weight or bad wheel tracking but that can't be all of it . . . Could it have something to do with the way they (Summers and Dinn)structured the coasters supports and track ? Or how much maintenance a park is willing to put into them to keep them running smooth vs. how much maintenance a park has to put into them to keep them safely running? -
I think while it *looks* tame, I have a feeling that basically being on the side of the ship is going to add a certain level of TERRIFYING to it! I know that even the rock walls on the RCCL ships are pretty "standard", but when you get closer to the top of them, and you turn around and look out and it FEELS like you can fall right into the ocean, it adds a certain OMFG aspect to it! Its kind of like the rides on the Stratosphere, on the ground they would be nothing but up there they are a whole new level of frightening

Belmont Park in jeopardy?

doesn't this park have some connection with the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk? If it does end up closing I would love to see it get relocated to Santa Cruz -

I was under the impression they were no longer permitted to remove any attractions? I believe that is the case which is ridiculous on so many levels . . . they can't even take Jester which was moved from SFFT not that they would want it but still there is no question of ownership on that one and they should be allowed to take it, Im sure there is a neglected SF park out there that would welcome this coaster or any coaster for that matter . . . scrapping these rides just seems like such a huge waste -
Most Intense Rides You've Been On

Invertigo has always been like that, if you sit in front row that runs through backwards first when you hit the vertical loop forward it is brutal -

How many times the same ride in a day ?

I'm pretty sure I have done the Tidal Wave at PGA around 40-50 times back to back never could get enough of that coaster -

Just did the Giant Dipper in Santa Cruz around 18 times a few weeks ago -
I'm going to assume that all of the trains will pretty much be the same. I can't imagine all that design and engineering going into this to only make three cars total, and two of them being different than the first. --Robb Are they going to have both tracks running these trains or one forward and one backwards

They didn't seem to care so much when it malfunctioned over and over in its opening year, and I believe at least one other model of this coaster has had similar issues and was never subjected to a year long investigation . . . all I an saying is that had it happened in Europe or even in any state other than California the ride would have been up and running in a much more timely manner -

I would think it is more like American park: Ride has a wheel assembly f**k up it will never reopen and ride stalls on lift hill they close it down for months CP had Magnum crash back in 2007 and it was operating the very next day (albeit with one train). It must just be CGA then because Invertigo was down for around a year for a lift stall
