Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
ginzo replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This should be a great addition. I'm a big fan of Star Flyers. Also, HURRAY for parks adding flat rides for a change. -
WHo would ride the Crystal Beach Cyclone
ginzo replied to crispy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Coney Island Cyclone is still one of the most intense coasters out there. And the Crystal Beach Cyclone had a way more messed up layout. -

Yet another bus crash at WDW
ginzo replied to Sir Clinksalot's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^It's possible, even probable, that the monorail gets expanded in the future. However, they won't expand it enough to replace the buses. -
I would buy a reasonably modesthouse in a hill town in Tuscany and get very, very fat. Completely fall off the map with no Internet or phone. To pass the time during the day, I'd do something like hunt truffles with a dog. Also, maybe drunkenly buzzing American tourists with my Vespa.

Yet another bus crash at WDW
ginzo replied to Sir Clinksalot's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, it would be awesome if they tricked the resort out so that you could go everywhere by a network of monorails and people movers. Obviously, that's not going to happen because of the cost. Nor should it since the money would be better spent on new attractions. -
Most disturbing movie you've ever seen?
ginzo replied to Sasquatch's topic in Random, Random, Random
^I haven't seen that one, but I've seen several other of Takashi Miike's films. He is amazing. -
This was a great update! It really brought back some memories.

PHOTO TR: My favorite Disneyworld pictures.

^I wish more people thought like SLUSHIE. That way the food lines would be shorter at the Food & Wine Festival. -

^Yeah, Hades was great all over the train when we rode it back in 2006. I'm kind of bummed that it has gone to hell so fast, but not really surprised by this. -

California Proposition 8 Overturned!
ginzo replied to NorCalAndrew's topic in Random, Random, Random
I agree, which is why Prop 8 was not good: It meddled unnecessarily into the lives of others. Even worse, it was apparently supported and funded by an out-of-state group. -
Gröna Lund Discussion Thread

This is awesome news. The interaction with Jetline is particularly interesting. -
Going to seasonal Six Flags and Cedar Fair parks is also not an exact substitute for staying at a true resort like Walt Disney World. But all three types of trips compete for the same vacation time and money. So, it's fair to point out that Disney is generally not the most expensive way to go for a trip.

TPR's Middle America and IntimidaTOUR 2010 Trips!
ginzo replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Not really, since they don't allow split plates. -
$3,000 really isn't that much for a vacation these days. I spent that for just coach airfare to Europe this summer for two people. And that isn't some overly extravagant, unusual thing. Millions of Americans do the same thing every year. If you honestly think Disney is way out of line with other vacations people take, then you just haven't priced many types of trips out lately.

In spite of the insane fanboys who claim Prowler is the greatest woodie ever (it's not), it is still a good ride. Looks like you guys are off to a strong start of the trip. This is the first time I've ever seen any pictures from Adventureland. It looks more interesting than I would have imagined. -
Holiday Park Discussion Thread
ginzo replied to devol4's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^If I was injured due to a ride malfunction and had medical bills/lost wages, I'd sue the park as well. Whether it was a freak accident or not, I would not care. It's the park's job to not mangle riders. No excuses. -
Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

^It does not help that Fahrenheit is sitting right next to Storm Runner, which gives you an immediate reminder of how intense Intamin gets. -
Rye Playland Discussion Thread
ginzo replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Yeah, something does seem strange. They own the land, don't have to pay property tax, and aren't exactly spending a lot on new rides. -
Rye Playland Discussion Thread
ginzo replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'd be bummed to see this place go. It was a lot less ghetto than I had anticipated. Even a little bit charming. -
They had rides outside the beer tent?
