There's no reason to stop at monkeys. According to Biology, evolution goes all the way back to the most rudimentary prokaryotes, bacteria if you will. So, the question then becomes where did the bacteria come from. This part is where science falls short. There are no good answers to this yet. The Miller-Urey experiment hypothesized that the lack of oxygen in the early atmosphere created an environment conducive to reduction reactions, which means that conditions were favorable for the spontaneous synthesis of the macromolecules necessary for life. But, this is just the beginning of the answer to the question of how life originated.

I hope you're kidding about the gunpoint part. That happens countless times per day. I know many people who have been robbed with a gun in their face. This case was a little bit more extreme with the abduction and all, but this sort of thing is still pretty common. It's not like they were swooped up by a gang of radical Islamists while waiting for Space Mountain, carried away in a helicopter, and held with the demand that the US free all the prisoners at Gitmo.

FYI, you should never let any security guard search your car. They don't have the right to do that. Never let the police do it either without a warrant. -
Because people get robbed every day. It's not national news.

Way overpriced? No, I wouldn't say that. Not more than any other theme park. Hell, admission is $41.95 at the gate and they have 17 coasters, SFMM has 15 coasters and SFGADV has 13, yet both their admission prices are $59.99 at the gate. I think their hotels are a bit overpriced for what you get. Breakers gives you basically a $100 room for $200+ because you can walk into the park. Heck, I think the rack rate for the Wilderness Lodge at WDW during value season is currently $215. And that's a HELL of a lot nicer hotel than Breakers. The concessions are also overpriced, but no more so than anywhere else.

The young thug's family filing a wrongful death suit is close to a mortal certainty. And I hope that spiders nest in the spleen of whatever rotten attorney files that case for them. Right now I'm dealing with two frivolous law suits of my own.

No woodie is going to be great in 5 years without proper TLC. Wood rots. The Voyage is an especially large woodie, which means that the wood is going to wear out even faster due to the greater forces. And they could have just bought some cheap ass wood. The entire project was only $6.5 million, which is peanuts for a coaster that size. The Intamin woodies might have an advantage with the laminate wood they use. Maybe it holds up better. Anyone know?

350,000 sq ft indoor water park? That's fricken massive! My hats off to whomever is pitching this for wanting to go with a woodie. The real question is what company are they going to hire to build it, if the project goes through as planned. I'm hoping for an Intamin woodie. There are not enough of them, and these developers apparently have serious money to burn.

Yeah, this seems like a pretty bad design flaw. There should be a way to get the riders off the lift during an power outtage. Hanging upside down like that could give a person the worst headache of their life. Power outtages are extremely common during the Summer months when the power grid is taxed from all the AC running. The Summer months are also typically when coasters operate. So, go figure. I guess these people have never heard of the philosophy of planning for the worst.

This is a bizarre comparison as Wyandot Lake doesn't really qualify as an amusement park. It's more of a water park with a few really crappy flat rides and a slow kiddie coaster.

Wisconsin Dells Advice
ginzo replied to EagleFan344's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You could get a Dells Coupons Book. http://www.dellscoupons.com/wisconsin-dells-coupons.asp They've got stuff like 2-for-1 Mt. Olympus, 2-for-1 Timber Falls, restaurant discounts, etc. It's like $25, but probably worth it. The book has discounts on damn near all attractions in the Dells area. Please be aware that the Mt. Olympus discounts aren't good all season long. Last year they were for June only. Dunno what the rules are for this year. Edit: Yep, same deal this year: " 1 Free All-Day Admission With Purchase of Second Admission of Equal or Greater Value at Regular Price DURING THE MONTH OF JUNE ONLY! Valid 6/1/07 - 6/30/07 Open Memorial Day - Labor Day." -
She is in a real prison, the LA County Jail. Right now she's in the medical unit. She'll never be in the general population though. They'll keep her in a special wing of the jail because she wouldn't be very safe in the general population. She had the opportunity to pay money to go to a nicer prison, but she declined to do so. She wanted to prove some farcical point about her not being special.

Best Coaster so far in 2007
ginzo replied to Vffreak07's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This is about worthless since almost nobody has ridden both coasters yet. -
We should pay to jail her because those pictures of her crying are worth every damn cent it costs to keep her incarcerated. I also don't see how keeping her inside her posh house is any sort of punishment. She'd live better in there than any of the users of this site will ever live in their entire life.
