  1. I think you're more likely to see Jesus hosting that show than Sean Connery. Sean Connery is pretty much the greatest ever though. BTW- this poll needs a "Who cares? Only the unemployed watch daytime TV" option.
  2. It's nice to know that some people are working to make order from the chaos that is SFMM.
  3. Yeah, only Cedar Point has a lot more to do if TTD and MF are both closed. I'd be seriously irked if I spent a day at Holiday World with two of the woodies down. They do seem to be pretty good about getting the coasters back up quickly when they go down.
  4. Why does the fact that she was black (in all caps) have anything to do with her actions? I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt. Yes it was pretty dumb, but I just dont understand why it mattered what color she was? Stupidity, as far as I've seen, goes beyond race, gender, etc. Because BLACK people always cut line. Everyone knows that.
  5. Ted you raise probably the strongest point here about why these ACE awards are self-serving and meaningless. ACE claims to be all about preservation. But, Kings Island has done everything BUT preserve its woodies. I think the "Fairly Odd Coaster" is the only older woodie that they have that is any kind of decent shape. The other two are seriously neglected.
  6. Absolutely. Kings Island is not, has never been, and never will be a destination park. They survive, even thrive, on the fact that locals swarm to the place no matter how crappy of rides they install. Also, remember that Kings Island was not really a new park per se. They essentially moved Coney Island up to Mason because of space issues, flooding, etc.
  7. Because those other 99 coasters are at parks that aren't hosting their convention giving them unlimited gravy. It's funny that my mom heard about it on the radio, and even she who knows nothing about this stuff thought it was fishy that ACE is handing out awards to a park that just happens to be hosting their convention.
  8. Hahaha. Thanks for selecting my new Avatar for me. It was time to retire creepy latino guy (who probably jumps line at Six Flags).
  9. My favorite infomercials are Kevin Trudeau's where he peddles his books full of his quack conspiracy theories about how the government is covering up the cure for cancer and how you can lose weight by "resetting the hypothalamus gland". I admire Kevin's ability to take money from idiots, and to seem sincere while he spouts the highest volume of BS ever to grace the airwaves. He lies better than any politician.
  10. It was just a joke. And a very funny one at that. Try not to read too much into it.
  11. Actually, I think SOB would make a great interrogation tool for the US government with the Gerstlauer trains. We could find out Al-Qaeda's plans for the next 10 years by forcing their operatives that we catch to marathon SOB until they talk. And with those G-trains believe me they'll talk alright.
  12. From what he said, I don't see what the big deal is. Maybe they just had a set number of exit passes earmarked for this event, and they were all gone when BeemerBoy asked. God forbid they don't give every exit pass they have out at some enthusiast event.
  13. Wrestling ceased to be good when Andy Kaufman died.
  14. I don't know anything about improved trains. I just know that the three SLCs I've been on are about the worst coasters out there. They all made me scream in pain.
  15. Yeah, I still think that the Vekoma SLC is one of the worst ride types out there. A few hours on, say, T2 at Kentucky Kingdom is as bad as any medieval torture device out there.
  16. You are really hardcore to drive from Florida to Cedar Point. I don't think I'd attempt that. At least not without some stopover parks or something.
  17. It's a classic with awful trains that do not accommodate taller riders well at all. Dipper was probably really awesome in its day.
  18. That could be a fun use for the poll feature that is so often misused here. We could vote on rides, and hand out our own meaningless awards.
  19. Cameron this TR really makes me want to try to squeeze SDC in this year.
  20. I wouldn't really blame this one on CF though. Raging Wolf Bobs and G-trains in general sucked way before Cedar Fair took control of the park. Yeah, but it's their responsibility to keep the ride up now. And they're obviously doing a fine job.
  21. I rode this thing a few weeks ago. Although it wasn't particularly rough, the ride has a really poor appearance. Wanting for paint, of course, doesn't necessarily mean that the structure is unsound, but it does hint at the maintenance policies of the park. As much as I'd like to see an Intamin woodie at Cedar Point, I think Cedar Fair should just give up on wood. They suck at it. I better go ride Renegade soon before it falls apart.
  22. Pfft. The Voyage is for girls. The Howler is king at Holiday World.
  23. You could try writing a super polite, non-imposing letter to Cedar Point. They just might oblige you.
  24. http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=macs_cant Maddox's really funny rant about Macs.
  25. You are absolutely correct in that evolution cannot be proven. But, that is because the word "proof" is an overly strong word. Only mathematical theorems can be proven. Nothing in science is proved. It's always open to new studies, new data, new hypotheses, etc. Most of the debate about evolution among biologists centers around how it happened. They don't really debate whether it occured or not, because the overwhelming majority agree that the preponderance of evidence says that it did. What makes science differ from religion is that science is falsifiable. If overwhelming evidence appeared supporting the idea that evolution didn't take place, then the consensus opinion would change. Evolution v. creation is really a political/theological debate more than a scientific one.
