Quick question for TPR users
Schmoofy replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'll third that. Maybe Robb has it set up for a different browser, other than IE. Are you using FF, Robb? Scratch that, looking up I see a user has IE and it's working fine. Hmm.. -

That's neat, the carousel was located at Harvey's Lake at one point. We usually go there for potato pancakes once a week. Neat to see something from close to home. Nice report! -

Nice report Derek! I'm headed to WDW in 8 days, and am wanting to ride the new pirates. Did you ride? Worth the long wait? -
I don't think anyone mentioned inverted swinging coasters yet. I haven't heard of one of them being built in a long time. Floorless was already mentioned, although I really would like to ride one of them, they died out quick. Also I think backwards trains faded out too.

Any word on how many trains it can run at a time? From the pics, I saw a yellow, blue, and green train. It looks awesome, complete ownage of X. ~Schmoofy "Doesn't have the money to go to Japan" -
Your Favorite Train Ride
Schmoofy replied to kidcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Pioneer Train at Knoebels. There's better trains than this one, but I love how it takes you out into the woods, away from the hustle of the park, plus right through Twister's supports -

Around my area, it's still pretty popular at the movie theater and mall arcade. They're adding harder songs, under a smaller ranking (an 8 foot from DDR Max would now be rated a 6 foot) trying to attract people to get better and such. But you're right, it has died down a lot. I still want to face you one of these years at PPP -
TGI Thursdays? Is that even a real place? Rofl, was the food at least half way decent there? 2 Coaster credits isn't so bad, considering most of the other parks that around built in the middle of nowhere usually have no rides running.

Disney's Magical Express
Schmoofy replied to disneygurlz2s's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The magical express should work wonders for you. It saves you the money trying to find a taxi at the air port. They take you in an AC luxury bus and show a pre-vacation video to pump you for the parks. The only down side to this, is that your luggage doesn't get there at the same time you do. Usually 2-3 hours after you check in, you luggage does, so make sure you pack things in a backpack that you will need. (Bathing suits, park tickets, money, etc.) It was a wonder for us last time! Another thing you might want to try it the Dining Plan. You buy a certain amount of tickets for around Disney. The plan we took gave us each a breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack during the day. Plus extra cafeteria food tickets came along with our package. You might want to try using the Dining Plan instead of carrying around your credit cards or money. -

Knoebels Discussion Thread
Schmoofy replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This flood we are having is WORSE in areas, such as Bloomsburg and lower, than the '72 flood. I would be surprised if Flying Turns contruction resumes within the next week. We have been hit pretty bad, and it's not over until tomorrow afternoon, which is when the river is supposed to crest. -
Knoebel's TR/Flying Turns Update
Schmoofy replied to Schmoofy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
One employee we were speaking with said October 7th, the day of PPP. His reasoning was that many coaster enthusiasts will be there to enjoy the ride and promote it along the internet and such. Thanks =D -
Knoebel's TR/Flying Turns Update
Schmoofy posted a topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This is my first real TR, so don't blast me too hard . Today we decided to take a small trip to Knoebel's for the day. It ended up being a decent day, not too warm outside and a nice breeze. Alright, so it's a nice day. So what, you're saying, show the Flying Turns pics! I'll get to that in a bit, but some interesting chat with employees working around the contruction site. They pointed out that half of the project is done, and that they expect it to be done before October 7th (in time for PPP ). The Looper, new ride (not so new to the world) was our actual first stop of the day. This thing is INSANE. I know it's just another rodent wheel, but the ride cycle was around 5 minutes, making for some awesome flips. Next we hit The Phoenix was running extremely smooth today, the train seemed to be running on glass. We rode that once, and then headed off to a frisbee named Fandango. It's actually pretty decent for just another frisbee. Then we had the highlight of the day - Log Flume. Yeah, it's not the best around, but when you load nearly 700 pounds of human onto a single log, your splash is HUGE. We worked our way randomly through the park, made our way back to Power Surge where the french fries are . Then it was off to Twister. This coaster (blunty) owned today. No lines what-so-ever, so we just stood on for about 4 rides. I have some nice "top-of-hill" shots to show down below. Then we went back to actually examine the Flying Turns construction site. For being "half done" as the employees said, they don't even look 1/4th of the way done. They station isn't done yet, and a lot of track isn't even assembled! There's a TON of wood laying around the road behind the site. We were also told by a security guard that the track will reach out to Twister's bridge. Don't know if it's true, but that would be a road block if it is . And an idea of how close this ride is to Looper and the Flyers, I have some pics there. On the side of Looper, is where a helix will be built (or something). It's right on the edge of the platform, wood was being layed right below our Looper car. It was a nice day, yatta yatta yatta, Flying Turns looks like it will be amazing, and not to mention a compact ride. Pictures below, enjoy! And there's the Flyers for all you Flyer-happy people Close up of inside the turn Back view from the road near Twister. It's Flying Turns (duh) It's supposedly the ending of the ride, but it looks like the only part completed so far Sun-damaged pic of Flying Turns construction It's a hill. On the Twister. Need I say more? Use of practically the same caption #3 Nice view from the top of Twister #2 Nice view from the top of Twister #1 Twister has -gasp- AIR GATES There's the Twister, and some odd lifeguard guarding an empty pool. The whole park was almost empty actually This drop, that thing. It drenched the 700 some pounds in our log. Fandango. It goes up and down and spins, it's fun Yeah, it's a first hill pic of The Phoenix, that's all I got Nice view from the top of The Phoenix, note the wood-glass The Phoenix. It's running on glass, but the glass is disguised as wood YES PEOPLE. They were working on it and stuff A side view of the "figure 8" part, OMG PEOPLE Overall look at the "figure 8" part of the ride, this looks like it was just started Tube-like-soon-to-be-helix-thingy on Flying Turns Flying Turns in progress Looper was insane, and not to mention Flying Turns -drool- construction right next to it! It's water, yeah...we got more wet on the log flume though.
