More pictures from my day at Knoebels. Enjoy. Do not miss the Cosmotron if you do go to Knoebels. Flying Turns pictures in a bit... Flyers enthusiasts take note. Whoever said 'The Twister is for the birds!' may just be right... Through the trees! So nobody complains that The Twister didn't get any love. Looks like it needs an update. The Haunted House. My friend told me the new effect is near the lift hill, and that it is a witch that shoots a ring of smoke at you. Sounds neat. This building doesn't look too safe, there's about 4 feet over the side here. I really like how the water flows from under this building. The XD theater and Blasteroid weren't open, I really wanted to shoot some targets too. Their DDR machine is set to Japanese scoring, miss three notes in a row and fail out. I didn't bother playing this time. I still prefer a coke slushie. Top Speed Thrill Coaster still packs a punch for being a kiddie coaster. Since pictures don't move, you can't see all of the kinetics in this picture. Did I mention that many shops were closed? "How would I even get on it to sit down without climbing on it?" I love my camera Lift hill enthusiasts take note. I really like this perspective. After eating, I went behind the Skloosh's drop to snap a picture or two. Being out of quarters, I headed back to the pavilion to eat my lunch. It was pretty good, despite the meager look to it. Bahahahahahaha! Perfect! By the time I got done messing around it was lunch time. I headed over to the International Food Court to get a buffalo chicken sandwich. $4.75 you say? That gives me.. Dammit, all out of quarters. It's all about the reaction, just look at that face. This really never gets old. Some kid jumped in on the '1' blaster, can't complain about that. No reaction, he must not be human. Hope you didn't plan on staying dry! Enjoy your water! Haha! Wonder what damage I can do with these babies... Insert a quarter and...BOOM! ..I see a '2' out there near the Log Flume track... What is it you ask? Well, I see a '2' on it... After riding The Phoenix a dozen times, I thought it was time to blow some money away. What better place to do it than this machine?

Today, June 5th 2008, was my first visit to Knoebels for the 2008 season. I can safely say that once again, Knoebels has worn me down. After riding each row on The Phoenix and soaking down people, I was wiped out. Speaking of being 'wiped out', Knoebels has a new flat ride for this year, named Wipeout. It looked like loads of fun, but I wasn't able to ride it, which I'll tell more of in the pictures. The Haunted House also has a new effect, and still being afraid of the attraction, I asked a friend what it is. More on that in the pictures as well. Overall, it was a great day, I can never complain about anything at Knoebels...except today. They removed Moxie from the cooler in their front store. Maybe I was the only one who purchased Moxie from there, but I was very mad when I discovered a cooler in without Moxie. This post will contain my basic park pictures, including my 'story' of the day, as will my second and possibly third post. Another post will contain all of the pictures I took of Flying Turns. I also have a video that takes you on a tour of the construction site of Flying Turns, which I will upload at a later date. How did this slip in here? Flying Turns pictures included in a later post, including pictures of 5 different cars. More Knoebels pictures next post.. The color scheme is nice. There, I said it again. "Can you please just let me on to take video?" "Who are you? Go away, the ride's closed!" >:[ Well, it looks like Knoebels didn't buy Wipeout new. After I was done riding The Phoenix I went over to Wipeout. I was hoping to ride at least once today, too bad the ride was down all day except when I first took pictures. Maybe I have a cursed camera now? I rode a total of 12 times, once in each row. Row 3 and row 11 are by far the best, in my opinion. 3 has lots of forces and airtime, 11 is smooth with the same airtime. Back to the Phoenix to grab the rest of my rides for the day. Yellow train was running, the orange was begging to be ran. I rode four times, and then took a break. While walking around I found this. What the hell? I think I will, in each row. What mysteries lie inside the dark tunnel... Happy people exiting The Phoenix. Camera stuck through fence = decent picture. Bottom of the lift hill structure where the antique cars hit the end of their track. Phoenix: Coming out of the trees! It's a bit nerve-wrecking waiting to ride. The pendulum swings very close to the queue. Fandango is still running in its 'head chopping' glory. Yet again, no train... I looked up from that previous picture and saw the Phoenix, I couldn't resist...or wait for a train to come by, I'm not that nerdy... The color scheme is nice, I'll admit. Wipeout, through the trees! They wouldn't let me on alone (curse you, no single riders!), and there was nobody in sight to even try to coax into riding with me, so I figured I'd find someone to ride with later. The background looks faded, yet decent. Really doesn't fit in with the lights above it though. With the Phoenix right behind it, this attraction can't suck! I believe the name for this ride in RCT3 is 'Starfish', though I could be wrong. It's Wipeout! Knoebels' new attraction for this year. A bit of a coincidence that they open this ride around the time that a show named Wipeout is starting to air, heh? I headed over to Flying Turns to get some pictures next, but I'm saving them for a later post. I then headed over to Fandango...but what's that behind the trees? 1001 Nacht received a new paint job for this year, it looks very nice. The Skloosh was operating upon my arrival to the park, found it a good opportunity to snap a picture.

Knoebel's 15/09/2007

Flying Turns anyone? Many pictures today, some blurry, and excuse that. I will upload the blurry ones anyway. When asked about the opening today, one worked replied "next season, not PPP". And I'll leave you with the runway lights. Crane. Some wood laying near today's construction. More brake run. Brake run brakes. The brake run. Thank you long arms! Third lift hill's chain. More of the third lift hill's mechanics. This didn't turn out as good as I thought it might. Uhm hum. Entryway is shaping up. The "higher" webcam. Blended right in with the small metal pieces. A ladder was laying on the last part of track. Tried looking inside again.. I can't wait to be one of the people walking down this exit ramp. I hope they don't use this wood.. The magical crane truck. (It's wheels were off of the ground) The track is near complete, why are these still laying around? A crane was inside of the empty area that is fenced off, lifting wood I believe. The "lower" webcam. Looking awesome. Majestic. Flying flyers? Still not completed. A MESS of wood coming off of the first lift hill. I really hope it doesn't stay this way, it looks really bad. Looks awesome. They were working on something before the main lift hill. Could this be the transfer track? Nuts and bolts are needed. This curvy bit looks better every time I see it. Third lift hill. Third lift hill's mechanics. Third lift hill's top wheel. Braking devices. The queue. (Excuse my lack of captions, many pictures to go through.) Ride op's stand. Needed braking items. If I was just a bit taller.. The wood siding for the station is real, not fake. -
It was my mother's company picnic at Knoebel's today, so we decided to go with her to Elysburg. The park was very crowded until about 5:00 PM, which is probably when most people left after eating dinner. Anyway, for such a chilly day, we had a really good time. Flying Turns pictures included in the second post! Excuse the lack of pictures, Flying Turns was my main concern of this trip picture-wise. And forgive me for only taking one shot of the Phoenix, I was more amused with Flying Turns. Those pictures to follow! An overload of Twister pictures, I know. I rarely take photos of it so I did today. I found this log flume picture neat. The line was decently long, slowed down a LOT later in the day though. More Twister pictures to follow.. Twister (All pictures following are Twister unless a new caption shows)

Well, the webcam has been moved to give a better view over the station to the first lift hill. You can also see Looper and The Flyers with how it's positioned now. -
I'd suggest going on Saturday if you can, the park is open later that night. Don't wait in longer lines for rides, such as Phoenix and Twister, early in the day. Wait until later at night to ride either many times in a row.

Station roof is nearing completion. I'm headed down to Knoebel's on September 15th, I'll be sure to grab a ton of shots. -

I noticed that as well, but thought it'd cause too much of a stir to even ask anyone about it. I'm guessing it's a college internship or something. Also, the station roof is nearing completion it looks. -

I think they're sick of giving out dates, nothing is set in stone yet. Second section of the roof is up, the third is being lifted into place right now. -

Instead of making a new thread, I thought I would bump this with pictures from yesterday. I didn't take pictures of the park as much as I did Flying Turns, so this will only include Flying Turns pictures. Excuse the blurriness, it was getting dark and my camera wasn't working properly. Enjoy! Oh, and here's a wallpaper for those of you looking for a nice, larger, Flying Turns picture. http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/2798/knoebels035wx1.jpg And to finish this off, the Knoebels sign, from the back, at night. The brake run: at night. Extreme-Blur! The lights look pretty neat. Mega-Blur! Also note that the lift hill lights are blue. Flyers and Flying Turns. Some of them are installed, others, like these, are laying around still. Main lift. Lift hill wheels. The supplies keep dwindling down, which is good! I don't have this shot yet. Hmm... Brake run. Is this a prototype? Cars haven't moved at all in the past few weeks. It's an impressive structure. And this is Flying Turns in rave mode. Reminds me of kielbasa. They're starting to board up underneath the station. The lamp post is a nice touch to the area. >:[ The helix off of the first lift and before the main lift is separate form the rest of the track. Flyers and Flying Turns in the same picture. Maybe they should name this section "Fly Away"? Looks pretty nice. Hard at work. Trough pieces that probably won't be used. eBay, anyone? You can't really tell from this picture, but this truck is really run down. It was parked here when construction first started, heh. Well maybe only had it on.. Pepsi cup lights, I love it! I was extremely tempted to put it on and walk into the construction zone, but didn't. The queue line goes under the main lift. Excuse the blur. These weren't installed a few weeks ago. I can't wait to walk underneath this. But there are handrails starting to go up! You can't get near the entrance now, they have tape blocking it off. New device underneath the station platform. Nice pictures! I'm headed there tomorrow and was wondering if there is any noticeable change on the Flying Turns lift hills, as in testing. I've heard that lift hill testing is starting soon.

Heh, who knows! It's coming along really fast now and will probably open soon, but I don't have my hopes up. You're right about the water slide part. It's going to be a bobsled coaster from what it seems, the cars only seat one person though, and two are going to be put together it seems. Someone said something. I really couldn't tell you yet, but it's probably going to work the same way a matchbox car would if you let it roll down a few pipes. -

Flying Turns. What can I say about this construction? It's come a long way so far, but the opening date keeps getting pushed back. I was told tonight that they are hoping to have it open for PPP, so all of you going might be in luck! Anyway, on to the pictures. And I'll leave you with this picture of the new Knoebel's map. Flying Turns has been added to it since May, which is probably good news. For those of you who have been following the webcams, this is one of them. I'll be walking up this soon! The brake run through the structure. The final turn looks so out of place. Final brakes before hitting the station. Top of the main lift hill. It's slanted towards the first lift hill. I asked to stand on the rails of Looper for a bit between ride systems and was allowed. Enjoy these pictures of the station, so far. Atmospheric lighting. Round two: It connects the first lift to the first helix. I'm pretty sure most of you would go to the Flyers before Flying Turns. Yay for troughs. Reminds me of Jaws.. These must be important. Let's play a rousing game of "What's Missing?" First round: It's before the main lift hill and after the first helix. Flying Turns: Through the trees! These were laying around near the back of Flying Turns. More weird devices under the brake run. It looks really neat. Another shot of the trains, because you know you want more. Second to last turn heading into the last lift hill. "There's more wood here than at a gentlemen's club!" Final turn before going into the station. More queue walkway. If you want to build your own Flying Turns, you need these! There will be a building here sometime in the near future. Final brakes before hitting the station. This is where happy people will exit the ride. The unhappy people will be forced to ride Twister until their back is numb. (Should only take one ride) Hmm.. More of these weird breaking devices near the not-yet-built station. Coming soon: Flying Turns' entrance! The final lift hill is completed, back in May it was just being started. It's pretty tall. Looks the same as last time. Really incredibly ungodly amazing and awesome. They have cars on the track!!! Holy shi- All of you who signed that board last year at PPP will be happy to know that it will soon be catching grease from under the brake run. More brake run goodness. This weird device is under the brake run. I've never seen something like this before. Looks really smooth.. Trough leading into the brake run. Coasters need nuts and bolts to be built, Flying Turns is no exception. Lift hill looks sexy. Looks the same as it did in May. I really don't feel like captioning all of the photos, but I'll do my best. -
Well today was a great day, except for the crowds. I can't tell you how many times I've been to Knoebel's and not seen it this crowded, and for a ticket day even! We didn't ride a lot earlier during the day, but later on we rode some rides with little wait. Flying Turns is looking extremely good, better than what the webcams show. All of my Flying Turns pictures will be included in my second post. Psyclone wasn't running today though. Flying Turns photos next post! Never before seen shot of the back of Knoebel's sign. And that's the last of them. I put my camera away at this point to avoid getting it wet. We wandered over to the Log Flume, and I managed to get some shots while on the ride. Enjoy! So, it's possible to get a picture of Fandango making it look like it's almost not attached to anything, awesome! Lookin' good! We went to Fandango next, I snapped a few more pictures while in line for it. The top of Phoenix's lift hill: THROUGH THE TREES. It looks so peaceful. The Pheonix is here too, running really smooth as well as two trains. Looper has a new entrance of sorts, it's no longer all of (now retired) Whirlwind's old entrance. As I stated in a previous report: I'm still a chicken to ride this. More stream pictures. There's also swans in the stream. There were four there today, but in May there were five, hmm.. The stream flowing through the middle of the park is really nice. Looking up at the track! Also my last picture of the Twister because of all the pain it causes to people. This picture and.. There's that pain machine! Oh look, squirrels! Wait, where's Twister? And another.. Another. So I decided to snap some shots of Twister while riding, since it goes right underneath the structure. The first ride of the day was the long train, over a mile long. We parked in C, D? Uhm...
