  1. Amazing pics!!! That first drop looks awesome. Can't wait to visit!!!
  2. I hope the stations and queue houses at both SFoT and SFStL get a nice refurb as well. I'm assuming they will since the other rehabbed coasters got everything pretty much fixed up as well. I guess time will tell. This is a great idea though. I can't wait to ride.
  3. Didn't work on Amusement Park Authority either...... Might as well delete/edit your post and try again. Any updates on Sky Screamer this weekend anyone???
  4. Thanks for reconfirming 2012 but the Rattler talk is for 2013.
  5. ^^ I can totally see that happen. My understanding from many old articles that I read in the past is that the first drop itself wasn't the actual issue, it was the bottom of the first drop and the sharp quick jolt back up into the fan curve that was the issue with people getting hurt. Assuming the coaster is going to be completed for 2013, I'm assuming it will be shut down for a good amount of the 2012 season considering the time it took them to revamp the Texas Giant. Does anyone have a full copy of the article that was in the Spokane Business Journal???? The link only has the first part of the article and you have to pay to see the rest. I hope someone was able to cut and paste the article.
  6. It's the not the height of the drop that makes the train crawl through the helix on the Rattler, it's the brakes that slow it down on the way into the helix. I've ridden the Rattler when the brakes going into the helix we're fairly "light" and the trained hauled @$$ (if you can believe it) through the helix. The shaking was rather violent though. As far as them changing the layout, it's totally possible since there actually a lot of room on top of the canyon wall where the helix is as well as where the current fan curve is. I guess we'll just have to see what happens.
  7. LMAO!!! I know right?!?! Such a true statement.
  8. Just got my very first TPR Blu-Ray and all I can say is "HOLY MOTHER OF CRACKWHORES"!!!!!!! This is just simply amazing. I have always been impressed by all of your TPR video creations and Blu-Ray just takes it to the next level. AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!!!!! Great job on putting this together. I'm looking forward to your next creation! P.S. The TPR drawstring bag rocks!!!
  9. Ordered my first BluRay TPR discs today. Can't wait to get them. Hope I was one of the first 100 to order so I can get that nifty TPR drawstring backpack.
  10. Amazing photos, Adam. Thanks for such an awesome Photo TR! Busch Gardens never seizes to amaze with their coaster theming.
  11. I totally agree with your comment about the original first drop. I recall that slight twist in the first drop where the drop got really steep and the "F" bombs started dropping. I also thought about them possibly doing more topper track in the future but it was my understanding that the topper track is only in a very small section of the ride. Even if they do still keep the topper track going, the two things that would be nice would be the original first drop(or something quite close to it) and them getting rid of the helix and replacing it with something better. If they can't replace the helix, they can always bank all the curves. who knows....
  12. ^^ I would totally KILL to have that first drop back.(well not really because then I'd be in prison and wouldn't be able to ride it) but anyways.....I rode the Rattler when it opened in 1992 and that first drop was absolutely amazing and quite honestly scared me a bit. Being able to have it back would be awesome. The taller fan curve would be nice as well as it too has been butchered over the years as well. I definitely vote "Extreme Makeover: Rattler Edition"
  13. Any word of what was discussed during the Q&A session at NTAG Bash in Dallas about the Rattler being one of the next Six Flags coasters to get some Rocky Mountain treatment. Is it just the topper track or is it gonna get a nice make over like Texas Giant???
  14. Humm....for me it has to be Son of Beast. Both times I rode it was post loop so I don't know what it was like with the loop in there but when I rode it, I rode it up front and to me it was great. *Runs out of the line of fire* LOL As far as steel coasters, I still like my Boomerangs. The first drop still gets my stomach every time.
  15. I agree 100%. My best friend is straight and i don't know what I would have done without him. He was there for me whenever I needed him. It really does help to have a friend to even just talk to. I totally agree. My best friend is straight and we've been best friends for the past 21 yrs. He was the first friend I came out to and I had his support from start. Having a friend like him really helped and I couldn't imagine not having him in my life. Just be his friend. When someone is coming out for the first time, they just don't pick anyone to come out with. He picked you for a reason.
  16. Welcome!!! Always nice to have an abundance of gays in the group! I think I'm the only gay coaster lover in Phoenix!
  17. There was an article in the San Antonio Business Journal about SFFT. Unfortunately it's considered "premium" content and doesn't let you read the full article if you don't subscribe. Anyone have access to it? http://www.bizjournals.com/sanantonio/print-edition/2011/03/18/ceo-of-six-flags-says-san-antonio.html Here is a clip of what was posted Hope we can find out more soon!
  18. What a bunch of dildos!!!! I wish you could ban those damn immature people from TPR as well. I'm sure those are the people who bring the ignorant, unintelligent conversations to the forum anyways so they wouldn't be missed. Oh well..it's good to clean up (Facebook) house every now and then.
  19. If someone is threatened, it's natural instinct to protect yourself. You don't have time to stop and think "Uhmm is this right or wrong, or is my job at risk?" Lives would have been put at risk either way so it's a double edge sword.
  20. *insert sarcasm* Oh yeh man....that's EXACTLY what they did!!! *end sarcasm* The only way for them to know what works as planned and what doesn't is to do the test runs....that's why they're called test runs. If something isn't going according to plan, *poof* MODIFICATIONS!!! Doesn't matter what it looks like, just ride the damn coaster when it opens and be happy!!! It's not like people are going to be coming off the riding saying "you know..i really liked the layout and first drop, but those steel support beams on the side of that overbanked turn were SUCH a turn off and totally ruined my ride experience." Anyways...nothing personal against anyone here but just a little tired of the "I know more than the designers" attitudes.
  21. Looks good to me! One more reason for me to visit Sea World San Diego now. And in regards to distinguishing the Florida Manta from the San Diego Manta...........Would it be proper for me to say "I can't wait to ride Santa!!!!"??? In regards to SeaWorld San Diego getting a coaster, it's definitely going to be a great addition to the park. May not be the tallest, fastest, steepest, coolest, scariest, craziest coaster out there....but it's a coaster. *credit whores raise your glasses of champagne now"
  22. Hoping I can make it down to Georgia sometime. I really wanna up my coaster count and it seems like SFoG has a nice little coaster collection.
  23. I'd steer clear of border towns especially Tijuana. No credit is worth your life. The last time I was in a border town, we got stopped by a cop because they said we ran a stop (ALTO) sign but we hadn't. We had to give them money for them to let us go. Yeh....NEVER AGAIN!!!
  24. Well if he is an ex then heck with him! I say go if you want! I much prefer my BFs to wanna travel to parks. If not I have to REALLY like them lol. My ex and I actually visited a lot of parks together since he likes amusement parks and coasters too. He just doesn't like the south or the State of Georgia. Dunno why...but oh well.
