I see it now. I noticed on that second picture you posted and I was about to post the same picture....it just seemed a little too high to be coming out of the tunnel I figured it was going into the fly by helix before the brake run. I guess whatever it turns out to be, we'll just have to deal with it. Thanks for posting your pics Jake. They're a lot more clear than what I was able to come up with.

It's hard to tell. On the long promo video that's 1:11 long......if you pause and move slowly through the frames starting at 0:14 to 0:15 seconds when it says "A Terrifying Plunge", It looks like the same thing that's already there currently which is coming out of the tunnel, do the station fly by then circle around to the brake run. As far as what others have posted about the video showing it headed out of the tunnel straight into the station???? I still don't see it, Unless I'm not looking at the right video.

I love it when people find this report months later! No matter when it's read, it's still comedy gold! Yup! I had just renewed my ClubTPR membership and downloaded the Spring 2012 newsletter and saw it on there. The Drunk Piers videos were great as always and the references of the Ghetto Cruise ship looking like the inside of a Laughlin Casino made me laugh so hard! My friends dragged me to Laughlin one weekend and I hated every minute of it. And thanks for posting pictures of the horrible food too! As much of a picky eater as I am, I wouldn't have survived!

I agree! That bunny hop going right over the cliff wall diving into the tunnel looks like it's gonna be pretty awesome. The one thing I'm curious about though is the length of coaster once it's retracked. Anyone have any ideas??? I mean I know without the full triple helix it's going to end up shorter but I wonder if they're making up for some of that after the tunnel towards the end of the ride?? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

^^ Exactly....thats what I'm saying. I'm glad (from the looks of it) the trains won't have those side windows/panels like NTAG. Never really understood what those were for. In anycase the first drop and the barrel roll is what I'm most excited for. Seeing that first drop go all the way down to the bottom of the quarry wall is gonna be insane. I haven't seen that since 1992. I'm sure that first drop is gonna be crazy as $#!T just like it was 20 years ago. I hope there is somewhat of a little finale at the end of the coaster. Im sure they're going to keep the station fly-by like it is now....at least that's what I can tell from still shots of the teaser video.

This is going to be absolutely amazing. There's still a lot left to the imagination right now but at least they've confirmed the height of the drop and the barrel roll going up over the canyon wall. I can't wait until this is all done! I will definitely attend if there is an "Iron Horse Bash" planned in the future for the 2 SF Texas parks.

All I know is that I hope they don't hold out til after Aug 30th to make their announcement. It seems like all of the other parks have pretty much stated they're making their announcements on 8/30 but it seems like SFFT has held out from saying anything about any announcements. *crossing my fingers* hope we hear something along with all of the other parks.

^^ I totally agree. Six Flags just doesn't get it. Goliath at SFFT could have easily been El Toro to match up with Los Festivales. Why SF thought Goliath was a better fit considering it's not the biggest coaster in the park is beyond me. I will say however the theming doesn't sway my decision on whether or not to visit the park. I just go for the coasters.

No, it wasn't. The rides were well-themed, yes... but WTF does Bugs Bunny and the Black Knight have to do with the German heritage in that part of the state... which is the part of the park (Spaßburg) it sits in. And Road Runner/Wile E. Coyote theming was cute, but it sits in Crackaxle Canyon, the Old West section! Don't even get me started on Superman invading the other end of Spaßburg or Poltergeist sitting on the edge of Rockville. Premier didn't do the park any favors on theming, true dat, but Warner was the one who started the character tie-ins that had nothing to do with the original charm and theme of the park. I was saying they were well themed rides.....I didn't say that they were a perfect fit for the themed sections that they're in. I guess we're talking about 2 different things here. In anycase.....Six Flags isn't the best at theming. Mid 1998 is when Premier took over so blame that management team for Poltergeist and Superman.
-
Very true. We can all thank Premier for that one which is when it all went to crap. Poltergeist is another horrible example. The only thing themed on the damn ride is the ride entrance. The queue house is just made to look old an dilapidated house but there is absolutely no imagination that went into that ride whatsoever. They would have been better off calling it "Launch coaster:The Ride".
-
^^ Time Warner Six Flags theming was pretty good. Joker's Revenge, Road Runner Express and Bugs White Water Rapids were pretty nice at SFFT when they opened in 1996, 1997, and 1998. After Premier took over, it turned to crap. All of those animatronics have died and Six Flags doesn't really seem to care to fix them now. It's starting to come back a little with newer attractions but I will say if you're not going to go all the way and do it like Disney, don't do it at all. Worst and stupidest theming decision they did at SFFT was "Goliath". All they had to do....if they were wanting to reuse another ride name from another park was to use something close to the Los Festivales theme which would have EASILY been "El Toro". Something that simple was screwed up by Six Flags upper management so they obviously don't care about theming or the fact that their attempts to theme don't make sense.

^^ I definitely agree with that for sure. Doing a little bit of redistribution of their rides from one park to another makes "financial" sense. May not make a lot of sense to the ignorant coaster enthusiast, but of course that's not who they're trying to appeal to anyways. The GP will be (using the term loosely)"satisfied" as long as they see Six Flags making new additions yearly or every other year. -

^^ Well put. The whining about this Boomerang is getting old. The clone argument isnt even an argument worth arguing. Look at some of the other SF parks, Most of them have the B&M Batman clone and of course SFFT has the matching mirror image of the SFSTL one. Many of them have a Boomerang, big deal. Sfft has the clone of Mad Cobra/FoF/jokers Jinx. Then there is Pandimonium coasters all over the chain, they may not all be clones but they might as well be. So anyways, yeh it's a bummer that SFSTL is getting a Boomerang but at least it's better than no addition at all. -
