  1. Vekoma was probably flattered that someone actually wanted to copy some of their creations maybe that's why they didn't file suit.
  2. So as far as trains for Iron Rattler, I dont know if this has been brought up before but who is making the trains for IR? I know RMC is making the Outlaw Run trains. Are they doing IR's as well or is it another company?
  3. ^^ Awesome coverage on IAAPA! Thanks for bringing all the latest and greatest to us. Really enjoyed all of the interviews, especially the RMC and 4D coverage. Thanks again for going above and beyond with the coverage! Oh yeh....Why do you bother doing this??? Because no one does it better! Just sayin' Keep the coverage coming!
  4. ^^ Hmm....pretty interesting. Thanks for posting the updates from inside the park. Looks like they're getting quite a bit of work done. Can't wait to see what they do with the last part of the ride. I'm still hoping after the tunnel there's something like a downward spiral double helix and then up into the brake run. Hoping for something good.
  5. ^^ Nope, I was hoping for the same thing myself.
  6. ^^LMAO! Thank you! Doesn't matter what the video shows or doesn't show. Like I said before, Gully Washer isn't at the bottom of the first drop in the video, it just shows a pond but that doesn't mean it's not gonna be there. The video is illustration purposes but not the end all be all.
  7. An additions do NOT automatically result in attendance boosts. One of the great lessons of this was that the addition of Greezed Lightnin' to SFKK resulted in an attendance DROP, not a gain. The fact is this IS a bad idea no matter how you want to spin it as good. The fact of the matter is if you want attendance to increase you have to invest money in it wisely. You can ignore it all you want, but the fact of the matter is when this park is adding something that was already offered by their closest competitor, this is not an effective addition. Also with this random, illogical bad appeals to GP arguments which are based on no analysis just assuming that people are uneducated morons, this isn't the 1970s. In this day and age, people go online to read about additions and if the reviews are all bad, it can backfire. Also, if a park gets the reputation for big build ups resulting in big let downs, people will not come back. Being that I live in the local area and I have talked to the GP and they view the park as old and outdated. If the American Thunder and Pandemonium cannot change this image, a Boomerang will certainly not. And just where in my post did I say Boomerang going into SFSTL was going to result in an attendance boost???? As I said before, Six Flags thinks it makes financial sense at this time to spend only thousands of dollars in relocating this coaster rather than millions of dollars installing a new coaster. Like you said Maybe THAT'S the reason they don't want to invest millions into this park. In anycase.......like CFC said "there's little point to beating a dead horse". It's over and done with, it's happening, GET OVER IT ALREADY!
  8. Welcome to the group. As long as I've been on here I've never been on a TPR trip as well and I'm considering joining the Midwest/Texas Trip too. I've never known anyone on here in person so I've always been too nervous about going on a trip without knowing anyone. Hope we can make it onto the trip. I'm always looking to make new friends considering my local friends aren't really into parks and coasters like I am.
  9. Thanks for the new pics!!! Great update! Everything after the tunnel is pure speculation right now. Some are saying it's gonna go right into the brake run leading into the station just because it's not on the video. The video also doesn't show Gully Washer at the bottom of the first drop(at least not that I saw) but of course it's still gonna be there. I'm sure they left it out not to give the entire ride away and hopefully leave some surprises in store for us. As far as the cover over the bottom of the first drop.......it looks like this time the first drop is pushed back further away from the wall than what it was in 1992 so they may not need it after all. They may also just drape the chain link mesh off the side of the wall like SKC. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
  10. Just a quick question for Robb or Elissa..... Back in 2009 I remember you guys had a few openings pop open for the Texas Trip you guys had. I didn't really know the details but I did find the details posted on another forum. SFFTnet.com Do y'all foresee any openings like this happening for the Texas portion of the Texas/Midwest trip where one can join in on the fun for a single day at one/some of the parks or do y'all predict a sold out event??? I think I know the answer and I'm sure you won't know until time gets closer but just thought I'd ask.
  11. ^^Agreed. I can't wait for the next batch of pics to get posted. I wonder how much progress they have made over the past week.
  12. Well someone had to replace SFAW didn't they??? Lol As far as all the comments like "why can't Sfstl get a coaster like X-Flight..." and "Sfstl deserves a better coaster....etc" seriously need to let this Boomerang thing go. It's done with. They're getting it no matter how much you bitch about it and no matter how bad of an idea you THINK it is. Obviously right Six Flags things it makes financial sense spending thousands and not millions on this park right now. If Sfstl was my home park I would just be happy it's getting something different. I don't care if there's one 3 hrs away somewhere else I've never been before, it's a new addition to the park no matter what. Many coaster dorks may not appreciate it but the GP will....and honestly that's who they care about. *steps of soap box*
  13. ^^ Nice pics!!! I can only imagine what thing thing is going to look like by the end of the year. The one thing I'm super excited for is to see the first drop begin it's transformation.
  14. Ahh...so that explains the good photo shots!!! Well again....thanks for the updates. Now that I'm back in Phoenix, I have y'all to count on.
  15. Ok. All I have to say is thank you to those who provide picture updates. I've been in San Antonio all weekend and did my shopping at La Cantera like always. As far as being able to take pictures???? I don't know how y'all do it. There's so much brush and trees by neiman-Marcus parking lot I don't understand how you all got the pics. Lol I guess I'm just not draggin my gay ass through all those trees just to get an update. So I guess I just wanted to say thank you to those of y'all who take pics and post updates!!!
  16. Well I'm not going to judge until I ride the finish product. Each coaster is unique and pretty much custom to each location so the nice thing is that the three coasters aren't cookie cutter and were going to get three different ride experiences with all three of these Rocky Mountain Coasters. It's only the end of October, we've got at least a good 7 more months to go.
  17. Another new pic from the SFFT Facebook page. The use of the terrain pretty low to the ground seems kinda cool.
  18. New update photo from the SFFT Facebook page. Looks freakin fantastic!!!
  19. ^^ The pictures show a very small section of what used to be the helix. As you can see...they are close up shots so I'm sure it's not as small as you think it is. I'm sure once more track gets put down, it will be easier to take photos of larger sections. I do agree that it does look pretty low to the ground.
  20. I'd say the view from the top of The Rattler and SKC at SFFT. I also like the view from X2 at SFMM and Magnum at Cedar Point.
  21. My first B&M coaster was Great White on opening day 1997 at Sea World San Antonio.
  22. Did people complain about noise? ^^ Noise wasn't too bad but when they used to do the Lone Star Spectacular every freakin night during the summer, it got old really quick. The other thing that sucked was when they would direct certain lanes of traffic to leave the area via 1604 instead of the 10 it would send tons of traffic past the apartment entrance. 4th of July sucked the most. I lived there 1998 to 2000 so I got to see Scream, Boomerang, Poltergeist, and SKC get built.
  23. ^^ You are incorrect. That isn't the Westin La Cantera Resort. I used to live at those apartments. They are called Mira Vista at La Cantera. They have been there longer than the resort has been. And yes, they have an awesome view of the park.
  24. Nice pics! I can't wait for my visit to San Antonio next week. It's going to be nice to see what they get done in a week.
  25. I'm sure it'll be more impressive when they start working on the first drop.
