Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread

I personally think the Boss has a great layout. I think if we were to see Rocky Mountain do something with it, they would probably do topper track. No matter what they do, it would still be great. So now that we know Flashback is going from SFoT to SFStL, lets try and guess what they're going to do with it. LOL I think Six Flags will go with paint it electric blue and lime green and call it "Goliath". LOL (I totally wouldn't put it past them) It would be nice for them to keep the "Flashback" name and just redo the logo or something but I dunno...I just see SF messing this one up some how. -

I really don't think it's gonna be that bad and quite honestly I'm sure it's still gonna be a wecomed addition to the park by the GP. It's still probably gonna be smoother than Ninja and you get to go upside down 6 times. Woohoo!!! Embrace change, it's coming. I also believe that if the Rattler refurb is as successful as NTAG, then we may see an IH Treatment or full topper track remake for The Boss in the next year or two to come. Just my thoughts. -

Bahahahaha!!! Oh well....it's better than not getting a single thing in 2013. I agree with David in this could be a better fit right now financially to prepare for larger investment in the future. I'm actually quite glad Flashback is headed to SFStL since it'll probably be more tolerable of a ride than Ninja is. -
^^ I know that, sarcasmo!!......I was referring to the fact that brown is more of a neutral tone so less noticeable. (IMHO) You make a good point about the rust though if they were unpainted....unless it was coated with some type of rust proof primer or something. Anyways....my other case in point is that Six Flags sucks at maintaining anything that involves paint. Remember SFAW? LOL j/j

^^ It could always be worse...... "New Giant Rattler" or they can always try to take "Diamondback" from KI. LOL It just needs to be all brown, period. As far as trains, I'm sure they'd go with red or blue. I wonder if they'll bring back three train operation. Six flags should avoid paint at all cost since they can't even keep up with repainting the coasters they have. *cough*SKC*cough*

^^ Boomerangs are associated with failed theme parks???? Really So SFoT is a failure? SFFT is a failure? Carowinds is a failure? SFDK is failure? Knott's Berry Farm is a failure??? Maybe you just havent been going to the right parks? And I've been to SFFT several times and Boomerang had a decent line going. I guess it was because they were only doing *insert sarcasm* one train operations on those days. As far Six Flags getting a new Vekoma train for it.....not a totally bad idea. SFFT Boomerang has a Vekoma train and it was way better than the ones I had ridden with Arrow trains. From what I understand the Boomerang at Carowinds had a new Vekoma train installed when it was moved to Carowinds from GL and it apparently made the ride much more enjoyable. As far as SFStL getting a Boomerang and their loyal fans becoming "disillusioned"?? Give me a break. SFFT and Sea World have mirror image of the same B&M inverted coaster and the General Public can't even tell the damn difference and that's because they're only about 10 miles apart from eachother. -
^^ There was an article in the Spokane Business Journal HERE that talked about it being for SFFT. I think it was also spoken about at NTAG Bash that the Rattler was next as well as an interview Robb did with the RMC guy but it wasn't very specific. In anycase.....there's no other park claiming the remodel and everything and everyone is pointing to the Rattler so I guess we'll find out soon enough.

^^ I agree. Even after the first drop was brought down a little from the top and up a little from the bottom, there was still quite a bit of speed going into the helix. We can all blame the trim brake going into the helix for the boringly slow helix experience. SFFT trimmed the entrance into the helix over the years and there were several times I rode the Rattler in the mid to late 90's and early 2000's where the trim entering the helix felt almost nonexistant and the train would fly through the helix. Although very exciting, it was quite a violent ride....especially when you hit the trim coming out of the helix right before the second drop. I hope Six Flags is gonna go all the way with this coaster. This is a huge opportunity to gain some popularity back.

^^ Thats what I was thinking with footers being left intact....maybe not a launch into another triple helix but possibly a single or double overbanked helix that will lead into a new layout. After that first drop an an overbanked fan curve, a launch wouldn't be necessary. It's nice to see they're moving fast in removing the old structure. I'm sure aside from doing a reprofile on the first drop and fan curve, the middle part of the ride and end of the ride are going to be all new.

No! And you can't make me! LOL Yes it'll be a Boomerang with a new Vekoma train. Just my thoughts. -
^^ Hehe....I was about to look at other pictures to compare as well. Thanks for posting and pointing out the difference. I'm sure the best pictures of the demo are going to be taken from outside the park.....either at the Neiman Marcus parking lot or Mira Vista Apartments.....or even La Cantera Parkway (depending on how thick the brush has grown in the area) In any case thanks for the update guys! Looking forward to seeing and hearing more.

^^ True.....it all makes sense. I'm sure everything is going to pan out fine and since Six Flags isn't afraid of taking their time with some west coast attractions, I'm sure they really don't care about when they open it as long as it's sometime in 2013. Anyone see any new developments around the park lately???? New pics???

You bring up a very good point. I figured since ntag was RMC's first IH project, I figured it was a longer project for a reason. Now that they have the process somewhat "streamlined" they can probably move a long quite a bit faster especially since there's a lot of empty land on top of the quarry wall to work with as well. I have a feeling Wagon Wheel's removal is going to play a part in the nRat makeover. Hope we see and hear more about demo.
