OMG a trip to Atlanta would be awesome. SFOG is a park I've been wanting to hit for years but the ex bf never wanted to go to Georgia.

This thread (starting from page 4) is F'ing HILARIOUS!!!! Thanks for turning my otherwise dull day into a fun day. And then of course what really made my day was Robb going postal on the two "goody two shoes" who actually considered this "bullying" GIVE ME A FREAKIN' BREAK!!! If you can't figure out that people are just having harmless fun then you shouldn't be out in public unsupervised. Thanks again Robb and the rest of the forum who actually has a sense of humor for brightening my day. OMG and the "Butt Hurt?" picture is freakin' PRICELESS!!! -

The S&S Combo went to Great Escape and reopened as Sasquatch. The Gerstlauer trains that ran on MZ went to SFSTL to be used as spare part donors for Boss, and now at least one full train is rotting in their boneyard I believe. All of the shade structures built in 2003/04 were removed and transferred to other sites, such as the queue shade for Goliath @ SFFT. They may not be the same structures, but they're nearly identical so I can only assume they were moved with the ride. The Vekoma rollerskater is about to be rebuilt @ SFMM. The boats from the Spillway Splashout (Hopkins Chute the Chutes) were refurbished and moved. Various theming elements were removed and plunked down in other parks. I'm a little curious as to why they never tried to take any of the three Vekoma looping trains for all of the boomerang/Arrow coasters that could use spare parts. Or why they never touched Jester since they dumped money refurbing it in 2004 to fix the ride a bit. Whatever, the park's dead. Move along. The shade structures are being used on the Fiesta Bay Boardwalk at SFFT.....so you're right about their park placement. -
I figured there was but since I don't know anyone and I would be going by myself I would like to meet up with some people I can identify with. I don't want to show up to a group of like 300 people and not know anyone to hang with. In any case send me a PM if you're interested in meeting up and hanging out for a day of coasters.

^^ I hear ya. It's at least a 5-6 hour drive for me from Phx but I'm willing to make it as long as I have people to hang out with since this would be my first TPR event.

I like it a lot. Even though I've never been on any of the trips, based on what I've seen it fits the site perfectly! Kudos -
Ok gays......who's gonna be at WCB 2011??? I think it would be cool to meet up with some of you guys!

^^ I totally agree. I've always been a fan of the B&M Stand up coaster. Riddlers Revenge is my favorite and even with a lot of negative comments I've read in the past regarding Mantis, I rode it for the first time in 2010 and really liked it. I dunno, guess it's just me. I've heard good things about Georgia Scorcher at SFoG and I'm looking forward to getting there soon to get that one added to my coaster count. As far as the "ball squashing" comments in previous posts....you just have to do a proactive "junk adjustment" prior to the restraint lock down. Always works for me. -
Totally agree. I wish more people would understand that it's just the way we're born. In any case at least there are some people out there who aren't so close minded.

TPR personals would totally rock!

^^ I totally agree. I hope the advertising stuff is going too. I'll never forget my first visit to SFDK. When we got there I got to see a HUGE Geico banner draped on the side of Roar. Very tacky so I hope that's going away soon along with the clown cars we got to see on a lot of coasters this past year.

I'm all for it as long as they don't go back to the ride rotation program. LOL j/j This could be a good thing....we're just gonna have to see how it goes. As far as the park food goes, I wish them the best. I'm going to keep an open and positive mind on this one. Can't wait to visit the parks next year.

Wow....so Terminator to change as well. I had totally forgotten about that one. I'd be surprised if they didn't rename it "Wooden Rollercoaster: The Ride". Considering SF did a good job of already renaming Evel K.....I'm hoping they can do the same with Terminator. And YES!!! Get rid of the preshow!!!! As far as food goes........leave a few options but don't take them all out!!!!!

I would put money on it that Johnny Rockets is on it's way out. Remember, Johnny Rockets was owned by Red Zone aka Daniel Snyder. That was the reason they ended up in the Six Flags parks to begin with. And I'm SURE there was a licensing deal set up and Six Flags was paying a fee to Johnny Rockets, even though it was the same parent company. I highly doubt that the new owners want to give a single penny to any Daniel Snyder owned company. Personally, I'm shocked that Johnny Rockets wasn't the first thing to go, but I'm sure there was a pre-existing contract in place that stopped them from pulling that plug immediately. --Robb Totally makes sense Robb. I didn't know that about Johnny Rockets but yeh.....now I can totally see Six Flags ditching Johnny Rockets in a heartbeat. Hope they at least leave a few "outside" food options in the park.

Here's an article from the LA Times. http://www.latimes.com/travel/deals/themeparks/la-trb-six-flags-retheme-20101122,0,3267615.story Personally I'm happy about the changes.....just hope they come up with some decent names for most of the rides however at SFFT the Vekoma RollerSkate is now known as "Kiddie Coaster" so I won't hold my breath. As far as Evel Knievel at SFStL, I was surprised that the name was not that bad. As far as food, I hope they don't get rid of all of the chain stuff like Panda or Johnny Rockets otherwise I'd leave the park to go eat or eat before going to the park. Oh well.....as long as they save money and improve other things in the parks like theming then I'm all for it.

LOL@ "I have my gurrrl moments" I hear ya.....we all do....especially when I have a few vodka/redbulls in me. I need to find me a coaster husband though. Someone who appreciates the theme parks and coasters. I'm never gonna find that here in the desert! Ugh what was I thinking when I made the decision to relocate here?????

^^ Had the levee's not failed, most if not all damage would have been wind damage. That would have easily been taken care of by the master insurance policy or if they had to take out a separate wind and hail policy, that would have pretty much covered it. I personally don't see the park coming back as anything huge but who knows. We'll see if they learn from past experience. -

Read page 4. This company does Loss Assessments on all these different types of properties to estimate replacement cost, type of loss, cause of loss, etc.......This was not an estimate by a construction company. This is something mostly used by insurance companies to help them with paying out large claims after the Loss assessment. This also helps them in legal situations when sued for not paying out losses due to flood (flood policies are separate from master policies) vs. wind, etc. -
^^That is pants down one of the best pictures posted on TPR! LOL

I came out to my sisters and friends when I was 21. I totally agree with being tired of lying and telling people that your boyfriend is just your "Friend". When I told my sister, I felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.

Hummm....I'd say Seattle too. I've lived in Phoenix for almost 5 years now and it's ok....but it's not GREAT if you like the big, urban vibe. Maybe because I live too far north of Central Phoenix . Scottsdale is really nice.....Old Town Scottsdale has a pretty good night life. Tempe is also pretty cool along Mill Ave. There are some pretty nice places to live.....condos, lofts, etc..... As far as the summers here......honestly...they aren't that bad. To me 90 with humidity in Houston or San Antonio feels a lot worse than 110 and no humidity. I would take dry heat any day. If you like or want to start hiking, there are plenty of parks around Phoenix Metro that have a lot of different hiking trails.
