Yeh...I totally agree. SFFT has usually had mediocre crowds during the week. My sister takes my twin nieces frequently during the week due to the lower crowds. The good thing that SFFT has going for it is the Water Park since it keeps some crowds light during the week in the regular park. I'm sure if Sea World wasn't around, SFFT would have a lot more attendance but when you have a competing park 10 miles or so down the freeway......it doesn't help. The good thing is for SFFT is the location is excellent with all the retail and hotel business that has popped up around the park over the years. Hope they can beef up the attendance though.

Very nice Photo TR of all the parks. I miss my home parks! (SFFT and SW San Antonio) Hope there were pretty decent crowds out. I've heard SFFT isn't hitting their marks for attendance this year.

I personally went through this back in the day and I didn't come out to my roomie until I tested the waters. I wanted to make sure he was ok with the whole gay thing before I did. Not that I was ashamed of who I was but some people just aren't as accepting as others. Once I found out he was "gay friendly" I told him and he was totally cool with it.

Yeh...I think the funniest shoot down on here was some guy put "I love boobies" and then someone else said......"Well I love boobies too and I'm gay" LOL....they kinda walked into that one.

When I first heard about how this project was being done, that was the first coaster that came to mind that should get this treatment next. I'll never forget how INSANE Rattler was the first time I rode it during it's inaugural season. Heck yeh...I rode it my Sophomore year in HS. By looking at the drop I'm sure they could make it happen with the Rattler again.

I love the part of the article that reads : "Six Flags spokeswoman Meredith Kelleher said the fact the company went through the process to gain the special permit from Gurnee never meant the coaster would be built." Well why the heck would you go through the process if that wasn't your intention?

That's the thing that we've been complaining about for years & SFMM is a prime example of how far some of the SF parks have gotten out of balance,Shapiro wanted to create a family image which is important but unfortunately fell short of that goal.If you don't like coasters but have a family to bring then SFMM isn't the park for you. The parks need to strike a balance & too much in any one direction of focus disrupts that balance,SFA was given water rides recently & at most once every 2 to 4 years while other SF parks were given flats or coasters on the average of every other year & why? because it was cost effective. For instance SFI spent on average $200 million per year prior to 02 which was enough to cover rides for most of the parks but starting with the 02 season that budget was cut in half with a good percentage of that going towards two or three expensive coasters(usually B&M's at 20 million a piece) plus the 25 million wasted on that maintenance nightmare known as KK for 05 at SFGRADV resulting in next to nothing for the other parks,that coupled with ride removals at parks (cough SFA cough) left guests with even less to do than before & that's why parks like SFA are seeing a decline in attendance much more than the parks in the chain that are adding new rides & coasters on a consistent basis. Ok...forget SFMM, SFGAdv, SFGAm, and some of the other "spoiled" SF parks and let's compare SFA to SFFT....... SFFT got Superman KC in 2000........their next coaster was THBS in 2007, and Goliath:The Ride *giggles* in 2008. The park only had 6 major coasters and 1 kiddie coaster prior to that.(then Joker's Revenge was removed in what...2002 and wasn't replaced with THBS until 2007) No other MASSIVE improvements from 2001 to 2006 with the exception of the occasional waterpark slide and one removed coaster with low ridership. Is SFFT spoiled too????? Just wanted to throw out that comparison. As far as attendance.....how do you know SFA's attendance is decreasing? Have you seen a report that all of us haven't? You need to remember that the attendance that SFMM, SFGAdv, and SFGAm bring is is anywhere from probably 750k to 1million more people than what SFA brings in. A brand new mega coaster isn't going to help boost SFA's attendance anywhere close to that much. Some parks barely break even when installing a new coaster and it takes years for a return on their investment. They're more likely to get a quicker return from a larger park which already draws in more attendance than a park that is much smaller and quite honestly still needs to work on their image.

^^ Thanks for posting the major additions in the past 10 years and I totally agree. The park isn't in a position to be getting a major coaster. Over the years the park has gotten some attention....it's just not the coaster attention many people on here want. I'm sure it'll come in due time...but they have to rebuild their customer base first. People don't want to pay $30-$50 bucks to get into a park just to get treated like crap by some employee.

^^Sounds like SFA needs to get a hold of the coasters they got. Maintenance wise it sounds like they've got a little too much on their plate.

^^ They sent B:TR to a park that needed an inverted. SFA already had that Vekoma Hang and Bang so maybe that's why they gave him the cold shoulder???? I guess they just felt it would have more impact going to SFFT.

Either that......or they were looking for the best place to run the bulldozers through first. LOL j/j I definitely want to see all the Six Flags parks succeed but I know one thing they'll have to do is get rid of some of those horrible employees.

I'd say one of the funniest people watching moment for me was watching the "plus size" lady at Magic Kingdom reach into the back of her shorts to pull her underwear out of her ass.....then she turns around.....and has major camel toe. I guess she had to choose her battles carefully.

You know if I would have been talked to like that when asked where the bathrooms were, I would have gone to immediately get a supervisor, walked back to them and asked them where the bathrooms were again. That is such a shame that the park has a hard time getting decent people to work there. Sounds like SFA has got a bad case of the "AstroWorld". I recall in my earlier days I got into several arguments with employees at AstroWorld because of their $h1t eating attitudes. Maybe SFA will get lucky and get torn down too! In any case.....SFA isn't getting anything HUGE for a very long time. Get over it already!

Coasters aren't the only thing that draw in attendance. Image problem is a BIG thing and something that is being worked on by the park.

I'd say be grateful. I'd rather see them get THBS instead of nothing at all. Just because SFA has been waiting a decade doesn't mean they should get something bigger. Quite honestly, THBS coasters are pretty fun. I've ridden the one at SFFT, SFStL, and SFDK and all three of them were extremely popular with that families.

OMG that's gonna be totally wicked. I'm so glad my sister lives in Dallas. Can't wait to visit.
