  1. Wow!!! What a brave little kiddo!! Love to see a little kid that young get to experience the big kid stuff and totally not being afraid of it. I can barely get my twin nieces on Road Runner Express at SFFT, but they sure don't mind Pandemonium one bit. Oh well...hopefully it's only a matter of time I'm getting them on iRat! In anycase, too cute.........and I'm a tad bit jealous as KidTums has more coaster credits than me.
  2. Holy mother of crackwhores!!! Experiencing that first drop from the back seat is going to be freakin intense as heck!!! Usually I've seen coasters with some hang time before the chain releases but there's not going to be any hang time for anyone sitting from about the 4th row back so it's going to be a full force first drop. Link goes straight to 2:37 where the train is headed up the lift hill at normal speed. This thing is going to epic!
  3. Mercilessly banging riders for almost 30 years. Nice video though. If there's anything I thank god for it's TPR and Rollercoasters.
  4. Yeh....be "VERY" disappointed when they're running one train and the line is an hour long but it was a walk on for crying out loud. Just like Jake said, it cost money to run another train. If it's not needed, they're not going to waste the money to do it. Sometimes they get it right, sometimes they don't but in this case it was warranted. And I'm sure with your "I -suppose- it's alright" comment, park management took a collective sigh of relief when they got your approval.
  5. SFAW and SFoT used to do rain checks back in the 90's whenever there was inclement weather. When I worked at SFFT during the Time Warner era (1996-1997) we used to do them there as well. Once Premier took over the chain, customer service, cleanliness, theming, etc.....went out the window. This is definitely a good move on Six Flags part to better their image. I hope this is something that is implemented in all the parks.
  6. ^^ Awesome compilation of places so far and I'd say by far the best new informative thread to pop up on the forum in a while. Great idea CFC!
  7. ^^ Yup I agree. Great attention to detail from the design team. Anyone seen anymore testing this past week(end)????
  8. So JPS, you got to go to SFoG??? First time?? How was it compared to SFFT?
  9. Nice POV shots on Medusa. Didn't look too rough but seemed pretty tame. *side note* That is one fast Ferris Wheel in the background around the 2:45 mark. Thanks again for all the great footage from south of the Border!
  10. I'd say I'm not really a big fan of cobra rolls. I'd say I prefer a B&M with a dive loop(s) over a cobra roll.
  11. I totally agree with all three plus Chuy's that was mentioned as well. And glad they have opened a few more locations around San Antonio. I agree as well....and there is also one about 5 miles West on the 10 just down from SFFT in Leon Springs as well. Great Texas BBQ! And I'm also going to add one of my other San Antonio favorites which is Alamo Cafe. Mexican food is great and they have the best freshly made flour tortillas. The margaritas are pretty good too! 10060 Interstate Highway 10 San Antonio, TX (210) 691-8827 Alamocafe.com And also a great Pizza place just about 4 miles West of SFFT on I-10 in Leon Springs (Rudy's BBQ is just down 1/4 mile further down the same exit). While it is outdoor seating, it's a great atmosphere and live music on weekends. Fralo's Art of Pizza 23651 IH 10 West San Antonio, Texas 78257 Fralo's Art of Pizza
  12. Hopefully there are some more testing videos that pop up soon. SFFT hasn't posted anything on their Facebook page yet.
  13. My apologies. I was thinking the top of the station, not the lower part where the exit ramp went through. My bad.
  14. It's kind of a good thing when a woodie sways because it means its absorbing shock, but NOT like the original Rattler did. It just looked unstable. The ride slammed against the exit ramp for goodness sake. It needed some extra supporting or something. No wonder the ride deteriorated so fast... Ok.....it NEVER slammed against the exit ramp. There's was several feet of clearance between the ride and the actual station house/exit ramp. The Rattler never had that much force and speed coming out of that tunnel to cause it to slam into the exit ramp. Sorry, but I have to call BULL SH1T on your post.
  15. Ahh got it. RCDB had it listed as if it operated. I guess someone needs to let him know. hehe
  16. I got the Gold Pass online for SFFT and it printed out the Free parking voucher separate from the season pass voucher. I showed it at the parking lot gate and they let me in so I'm assuming the process should be the same at all the other parks so you should be ok.
  17. ^^ Just to clear things up, Arizonaguy didn't write the "I'm a cop....." statement. That would be Mr. Prozach626. But yes...I agree with LinearInduction that if the park isn't pulling in the numbers, why should corporate dump major money into big new rides. Other parks like SFFT have gone through the same thing. SFFT got SKC back in 2000 and didn't get it's next coaster "THBS" until 2007 and then Goliath in 2008. After that it was new shows and Wiggles World until it got Sky Screamer in 2012 and now Iron Rattler in 2013. And Goliath aka Gambit aka Batman:The Ride originally debuted in Japan in 1995 and rebuilt at SFFT in 2008(OMG a used coaster 13 years later). Now I know that SFFT has only has 1 used coaster but that's because it opened 19 years after SFStL did. And yes I know....SFFT got 7 coasters from 1997-2013 and SFStL only got 6 from 1995-2013 but they aren't that far off. SFAW (RIP)got nothing but used coasters from 1989 to 1998 and the only "new" attraction was Dungeon Drop in 1996 and then Serial Thriller in 1999. Anyways, my point is.....over all it's not as bad as it's made out to be for SFStL. Remember.....it could always be worse like SFAW had it. Hopefully it doesn't come to that for SFStL. Here's SFFT list of coasters both operating and defunct: The Rattler opened 1992/Closed 2012 Kiddee Koaster 1992 Jokers Revenge opened 1996/Closed 2002 Road Runner Express 5/1997 Boomerang 3/13/1999 Poltergeist 5/28/1999 Superman Krypton Coaster 3/11/2000 Pandemonium 3/10/2007 Goliath 4/18/2008 Iron Rattler 2013 Here's SFStL's list of coasters both operating and defunct coasters: River King Mine Train A 6/1971 River King Mine Train B 6/1971/Closed 1988 Rockin' Roller 1975/Closed 2008 Screamin' Eagle 4/10/1976 Big Bend 1980/Closed around 1989 Jet Scream 1981/Closed 1988 Ninja 4/1989 Batman The Ride 4/22/1995 Mr. Freeze Reverse Blast 4/1998 Boss 4/29/2000 Pandemonium 4/21/2007 American Thunder 6/20/2008 Boomerang 2013 And if there was any Six Flags Park who got the short end of the stick with used coasters it was SFAW (RIP) Serpent 1969 Swamp Buggy 1970 Excalibur 1972 Texas Cyclone 1976 Greezed Lightnin' 1978 XLR-8 1984 Viper-USED 1989 Ultra Twister-USED 1990 Batman The Escape-USED 1993 Mayan Mindbender-USED 1995 Texas Tornado-USED 1998 Serial Thriller 1999
  18. Track on iRat is Orange. Gonna change your vote? Lol
  19. My next park will be SFFT when Iron Rattler is open.
  20. I'm going to go with iRat on this one. Outlaw Run looks amazing but the first drop on iRat along side of the canyon wall is just insane. Even though it only has 1 inversion, it's going to have plenty of airtime, overbanked turns, speed, and of course that last dive to TAKE THE TUNNEL!!! *do I hear new TPR T-shirt?!?!?*
  21. According to SFFT original press release which is on page 81 of this thread....It shows 171ft first drop for iRat and on Outlaw Run's press release on that thread it shows first drop of 162ft. I don't understand how you would post that Outlaw Run has a taller drop by 2 feet. Did something change or did you just flat out fail math??? And this was from Silver Dollar City's press release last year as well and it shows 162ft for Outlaw Run. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=162&hilit=stats&start=1150
  22. ^^ Like I said before, they shouldn't have even given the park anything at all for this season......but of course you would have bitched about that too. Who knows, maybe there's a method to the madness. Bring in Boomerang this year, get rid of Ninja next year, then bring in a used B&M Floorless after that and put it in Ninja's space. When it all comes down to it, it's all about basic economics....which is something some of you guys know absolutely nothing about.
  23. ^^ Maybe a lot of the people that complained had huge ol thunder thighs??
  24. The loop is 145ft. That old press release back from 2000 is incorrect and most likely result of a typo. If you've ever seen SKC in person, you can tell that it's way taller than 114ft.
  25. Thanks Ben for posting. I just watched the video again in Full Screen and caught that 2nd dive off the cliff. This coaster is gonna be amazing. [youtu_be]http://youtu.be/QlADrWsExRU[/youtu_be]
