  1. All the reviews I'm seeing on the local news channels are loving it. I can't wait to get out there to ride that monster. Thanks for all the updates and a big thanks to Robb for the video. Looks great.
  2. Nice pics, Robb! Looking forward to tomorrow's updates from TPR!!
  3. I'd say a Kiddie Coaster or family ride isn't far fetched........the first 2 options as far as Wing Coaster or Hyper are.
  4. Go ride Kumba sometime and you'll understand why it was given more love than Maverick.
  5. Wow!! Amazing pics. Thanks for sharing with us!
  6. So as far as the entrance and queue area, is that all still being worked on or is it all finished up???
  7. ^^ Wow. Totally lucky. It's great to hear a lot of great things about this coaster. I can't wait to get back to San Antonio to ride.
  8. Sounds like a pretty intense ride. Thanks for sharing,Ben. I can't wait for TPR to do a video shoot of this monster.
  9. I think I'm going to go with the left side on this one......especially the inversion after the keyholes.
  10. ^^ No big deal...just remember it's the weather that a little unpredictable(especially in May), not Six Flags. Assuming everything goes well on Wednesday, enjoy it!!! I'm sure it's going to be nothing short of amazing.
  11. ^^ Being allowed into a commercial shoot is a privilege, not a right. They could have always made you wait until opening day or just canceled the shoot all together and wait for the media day event! You asked yourself "Oh well, why am I complaining, I get to ride this Wednesday!"......and I'm wondering the same thing. You're lucky! The weather forecast for Thursday is Scattered Thunderstorms.
  12. Anyone doing the Iron Rattler commercial shoot this week, it's been moved up a day to Wednesday. Pulled this info from the SFFT Facebook page.
  13. From the SFFT Facebook page. Looks like they added emblems to the air gates in the station. Very nice details being added. Love it.
  14. ^^ The land that SFAW sat on was far more valuable than what the land that Sfno is sitting on. (At least that's what Six Flags thought about the SFAW site but they ended but getting way less for it but it's still in a more desirable place than where Sfno sits.) The city of New Orleans has way better ways to spend money for their city than to just level the park and then sit and wait for a developer to come along. Once something solid comes through it'll happen. In the mean time, they're getting money for the film shoots.
  15. ^^ It's more likely that the ramps up to the top of the station will remain the same. The rocks on the ground level that made walls for the queue have been moved around a few times to change queue directions and maje room for the kiddie rides diwn there now but im thinking those will stay the same. I'm sure anyone who's doing the May 9th commercial shoot will give us a full report and hopefully lots of photos.
  16. ^^ Looks nice....thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see it all finished up for this week. I heard from a friend that the park was quite crowded today.
  17. ^^ This coaster looks pretty nice. Thanks for all who posted photo updates. I'm so jealous!
  18. ^^ I was thinking the exact same thing.
  19. ^^ They're also not finished. What do you think they use to lift it and put it into place? How do you expect it not to get scratched up. They'll touch it up soon enough. Give them a break.
  20. SFStL may have just been given the "Take Flashback from SFoT or get nothing" option from Six Flags corporate. As crappy as it could be, at least it's a new addition to the park no matter how old it is. We all know that when it comes to management and marketing, Six Flags isn't the brightest light on the porch. I mean come on......they gave SFFT a B&M Inverted coaster 11 years after Sea World got Great White........and then to top it off rather than naming the coaster something to go with the Los Festivales mexican theme like "El Toro" or possibly "Ragin Bull", they name the damn thing "GOLIATH"!!! Not the tallest or biggest coaster in the park or San Antonio for that matter, not the first of it's kind in Texas or San Antonio but they sure as hell marketed it as it was. That's Six Flags......they do what they can with what they're given no matter how ridiculous it is or how much it doesn't make sense. At least SFStL and WoF are over 200 miles away from each other. SFFT and Sea World San Antonio are only 15 miles away from each other. How's that for a marketing challenge??? As far as attendance, just wondering where the figures are coming from??? (not trying to discredit anyone here but I've never been able to find recent yearly Six Flags attendance numbers especially for the smaller parks in the chain i.e. SFStL, SFFT, SFA.etc...)Just curious to see how the parks stack up against eachother. I do feel bad for SFStL though cause it seems like it's taken SFAW's place as far as getting the shaft but then on the bright side, at least they're getting something vs. nothing.
  21. ^^ Yeh I bet. Keep your fingers crossed. Is this going to be your first time to SFFT? I saw your post about kid rides on the SFStL thread and the good thing about SFFT is that there is a decent amount of kiddie rides spread out throughout the park for the 36" and up crowd.....as far as I remember.
  22. This coaster looks amazing. Makes me miss Texas Tornado aka: Thriller when it was at SFAW. I only got to ride it 3 times while it was at SFAW but it by far the one of the best coasters I've ever been on.
  23. ^^ Hopefully it is. Did they ever announce the official opening date????
  24. Any new pics of the Boomerang area??? Queue house, train in the station?? Anything??
