What do YOU take with you to a park?
ArizonaGuy replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Main thing I bring to a park is: -Wallet-(cash and credit cards) -iPhone -Sunglasses -keys Anything else I need I buy at the park. (yup,I'm a sucker and over pay for Advil, tums, etc. if I need it) -
I didn't either, but I could have sworn last year someone did a TR that was like "Surprise, Poltergeist opened!" It was a warmer day too; you know Texas weather, it was 37*F this morning and is supposed to warm up pretty nice this weekend! EDIT: BINGO! After searching through many construction pictures and complaints about IRAT being 'too short', behold, let it be know that Poltergeist was operational 22 December, 2012 during Holiday in the Park. So, I guess if you go on a good day there is a slight possibility you can snag a couple of rides on Poltergeist! http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=46317&start=1280 I got a few rides in on Poltergeist last year at HiP. I've heard (don't know how much truth there is to this) that as long as temps are above 45*, they usually don't have issues with it and will operate during HiP. Only coaster I've not seen open during HiP is SKC. Anyone know if it's ever opened in the past?

Six Flags has the least imagination of the bigger chain parks so I would say Six Flags would buy Time Machine and plop it on a parking lot with no station at opening and call it "Full Throttle". And why repaint it??? It's the same color scheme, right? Maybe SFStL actually has something to look forward to!!!!

TPR Readers! NEED YOUR FEEDBACK!!!
ArizonaGuy replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree as well. The switches were a little too quick for length of the captions. Great video and captions though. (The pic of Jake and Elissa eating and the Australian meat tasting like Amber made me LOL) I'd prefer the "view at your own pace" Photo TR's that are posted on the forum. You don't have to put forth all the extra effort and it still gets the same point across. -
I've grown up literally on Six Flags starting with SFoT, then SFAW, and then SFFT as my home park and former employer......however I go with Cedar Fair on this burning question. Before 1998, Six Flags parks pretty much had their own personality (for the most part, not completely)so to speak but post Premier, They've just gotten way too cookie cutter for my taste. Cedar Fair can be a little cookie cutter on a few rides here and there (i.e. WindSeekers everywhere) but over all I feel they have a better variety of coasters from park to park.

Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread
ArizonaGuy replied to Homer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Aren't Medusa (Bizarro) and Scream the exact same ride? I actually like the dive loop elements on those floorless coasters. At least that would be a different type of coaster that SFStl has had. In any case I'm sure a B&M is no where in sights for Sfstl anyways -
Most Intense Schwarzkopf Coaster?

Texas Tornado(Thriller) when it was at SFAW. -

^^ Well it's safe to say that's already been done so I guess Six Flags can cross that off the list. SFStL truly needs a nice decent coaster addition soon. Maybe one of the other Six Flags parks will get tired of their B&M floorless and send it SFStL's way. -
West Coast Bash 2013 Live Updates!

Thanks for all the WCB YOLO updates! Looks like it was quite a day! -
In Houston, We had SF AstroWorld and WaterWorld and then for a while there was Six Flags SplashTown in North Houston. Well we all know what happened to SFAW and SFWW, and then Six Flags SplashTown was sold to PARC in 2007. Even then Houston was able to sustain 2 Six Flags Water Parks with a metro population of 5+ million. San Antonio on the other hand has White Water Bay at SFFT, Aquatica at Sea World, and SplashTown in downtown SA. San Antonio Metro population is about 2.2 million and has 3 water parks and they're all just fine. The Georgia parks are what, 20 miles away from each other????? White Water Bay and Aquatica in San Antonio are about 10 miles apart. If there wasn't a market for it and cost effective for them they wouldn't do it. Six Flags just didn't decide over a month or 2 that they were going to add a water park to SFoG.....these plans are probably a few years in the making.

I agree. If my guess is correct, I'm thinking they're going to be to the left of the wave pool. It's going to look real nice driving into the parking lot and seeing the tall slide complex. I really think this balances out the park pretty nice, with the exception of no woodie.....but I'm hoping we'll see one in the next several years.

Six Flags Mexico (SFM) Discussion Thread
ArizonaGuy replied to zburns999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^ You're just thinking of Antonio Banderas!!! This seriously looks like it's going to be an amazing coaster. If there is a Mexico trip, I wanna go!!! John, start saving up that money!!! Yo quero ride Medusa la eSteel Montana Rusa!!!! -
Just as I suspected.....but a great addition to the parks White Water Bay. It had been a while since they had gotten any new slides for the water park. The coolest thing about the news is that Six Flags named the slide complex "Bahama Blaster" instead of "Bonzai Pipeline" like they have for all the other similar slide installations at SFStL, SFA, and SFNE. Kudos to SFFT for changing it up a little.

^^ Exactly. That's what I had noticed as well. Oh well....as long as they keep on adding to the park, I'm happy. They need to work on infrastructure as well. There are things here and there that need a little sprucing up. If it is a Bonzai Pipeline water slide complex I've noticed that the SFStL one has 2 chutes (I think) and the SFA and SFNE have 6 chutes so hopefully it's the one with more chutes.
