Kens5 San Antonio actually did some better reporting about the restraints. Glad they didn their research. ARLINGTON - There were more questions but few answers Sunday as the Texas Giant remains shut down at Six Flags Over Texas. Rosy Esparza, 52, fell to her death from the roller coaster ride on Friday, according to her family. The biggest unanswered question concerns the safety restraint system on the ride. On Friday, some witnesses told News 8 that Esparza was concerned when the restraint didn't appear to tighten properly. "She tells the guy, 'I only snapped once.' And he was nonchalant about it. 'You're fine,'" said Carmen Brown, who said she watched the woman fall from the ride. But there are questions about whether a hydraulic-based restraint, like the one aboard the ride, would actually make any "click" at all. The German manufacturer advertises in an online pamphlet that "the use of redundant hydraulic cylinders ensures that each lap-bar can be infinitely adjusted." A leading safety expert, Bill Avery, told ABC News there are other factors to consider. "I can tell you that persons of larger upper body torsos that typically the lap bar will not go down all the way to the top of the thighs - meeting at the waist line closer to the body, where it actual should be - and some cases they can actually rest on the abdomen, and in situations like that, it is not appropriate," he said on Sunday. Family members of Esparza are asking for privacy. The family is considering the possibility of retaining an attorney. Since the death appears to have been accidental, neither Arlington police or fire officials are investigating any further. Six Flags had no comment on Sunday, but said earlier in the weekend that its thoughts were with the family and that it was conducting a thorough investigation. Other rides remain open at the park, but the Texas Giant is expected to be closed for the foreseeable future.

Those are Vekoma trains. Boomerang IS Flashback. It got relocated here. The trains came with the ride. Train is actually Arrow. Lots of the older Boomerangs have Arrow like the trains on Ninja, and Viper at SFMM, etc. SFFT's Boomerang was one of the first in the late 90's to have an actual Vekoma train which is rounded up front. There were a few built before with the new Vekoma train as well. They started showing up around 1997. -

Thanks for the video and photo update, Chad! Nice to hear all the positive feedback about Boomerang and the park. Sounds like they're headed in the right direction. -

2012 Theme Park Attendance Report

Nice to see Sea World San Antonio in the top 20 US parks. I wonder how SFFT compares to them since they're open about the same amount of time through the year. -
My recommendation is get there early because there will be lines for ticket sales and then lines to actually get into the park. If you have all of your tickets printed out, bypass the first set of booths and get in the lines to go through security to get in. I'd say head to Iron Rattler first and ride that first since it's the newest in the park, it'll most likely be the one everyone heads to first. Then back track and do Road Runner Express since it really never has a wait. Then head back towards the front of the park and do Goliath and Boomerang. If you're a credit count whore, don't forget Kiddee Coaster in Spassburg. Then do Superman Krypton Coaster. After SKC, head over to The Boardwalk to do Pandemonium if you're into spinning coasters. After that make your way to RockVille for Scream and Poltergiest. That's how I've done it pre-iron Rattler and it always worked for my family. If say if you're doing this on a Monday, you could have it knocked out in about 4-5 hours of it's just coasters. Bugs White Water Rapids is a log flume and is usually more popular than Power Surge which is a Shoot the Chutes water ride. You could also just start at the entrance and do Goliath, Boomerang, and work your way counter clockwise to RoadRunner Express, Iron Rattler, SKC, Pandemonium, and the Poltergiest. Of course there's Sky Screamer, Bugs White Water Rapids, Power Surge and Scream along the way and several different good flat rides as well. And as far as when I mention "get there early"....... If the park opens at 10, get there at 9 cause there's usually lines to get into the parking lot as well. Some if the Texas schools and I believe Northside ISD in San Antonio don't finish school until June 7th so there may still be a lot of school trips. Hope this helps and have fun.

3 of the 4 Boomerangs that opened in 1984 are still in operation today. I'm sure this Boomerang is going to be around for a while whether people like it or not. The parts for the trains and coaster itself are still available.....otherwise they wouldn't have gone through all the trouble of moving it. -

Funny how Missouri's *insert giggle*"Coaster Capital" hasn't even opened its 2013 attraction and people are already speculating and naming their 2014/2015 attraction. I guess I'll play along. Wing Coaster......highly doubt it. SFStL doesn't bring in the attendance for something that costly. If it actually happens, I'd $h!t my pants. I believe Iron Rattler cost SFFT about $6 million for the renovation so I'd say SFStL is more likely to get a remodeled Boss than a B&M coaster that cost double to triple that. At the very least, they'd get that kiddie coaster the park is lacking. -
This. My favorite quote from Robb today at the end of the first POV was "Wow, that was a quick action packed coaster. I definitely want to say that my butt spent more time up in the air than it did in the seat, and that's a good thing." Both the front and back seat POV give a good indication this thing is airtime packed!
