NEW TPR Video Every Day in April!
ArizonaGuy replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've seen this video dozens of times and I don't know why or how I missed that this thing had a 2nd loop. Everything before the midcourse brake looks fun......after then it seems a tad bit slow. Hopefully this coaster does appear in another park soon. It would be nice if Six Flags could snatch it up (assuming it gets put up for sale) for one of their parks that hasn't had a new BIG coaster addition in a while. -
Usually Monday's shouldn't be as bad as weekend days. The kids in most Texas public schools are out by the end of the first week in June unless they have weather make up days to make up. So as of June 17th, you will be among the vacationers in the D/FW Metroplex. As far as the FlashPass/Qbot......I just looked at the Six Flags over Texas website and I didnt see anything that showed NTAG being a part of the Flashpass. I would wait until you get there just to be on the safe side if you want to save the money. This is what I pulled from the Six Flags over Texas site. I personally think if you show up early at opening and plan to be there all day, you shouldn't have any issues getting on all the big coasters.

You haven't even ridden it yet and you're already revising the ride and saying they should have done X vs Y etc???? *sigh* This coaster is going to be amazing and will put SFFT on the map. If you didn't cut out the first sentence of my post, you would realize that I was just commenting on it. Just making conversation. deep breath there buddy... Ok lets start again....added the first sentence back into your quote......new response: You haven't even ridden it yet and you're already revising the ride and saying they should have done X vs Y etc???? *sigh* Anyways.....so any confirmation of opening day for the GP yet???

^^ Humm....I thought the VIP event on May 17th was the media event as well. Oh well I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I'm sure Robb A. will probably be the first one to know the scoop and I'm sure he'll post as soon as he finds out. *side note* awesome pics that were posted earlier. Major coaster porn!

I was watching the video again an noticed from the top of the lift........Is it me or did they lay white rock around the coaster on top of the quarry wall??? It looks like they laid some cover up rock in a "u" shape from the barrel roll all the way around to where the train flys off the side of the quarry wall. Looks nice around the area nontheless. I can't wait for my next visit.

NEW TPR Video Every Day in April!

Wow....that looks pretty amazing. All the theming they put into it is pretty nice. The mist and dips close to the water make it look pretty cool. It also seems they did the keyhole type effect about 3 different times. -

Looks like she's wearing the hammock she should be laying on. -
First Defunct B&M?
ArizonaGuy replied to 11slataus's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^ And no doubt the most intense B&M coaster I've ever been on. I think I'm with the majority of the group on this one.......either one of the older stand up B&M coasters that are left out there or Led Zep. Why they haven't sold off Led Zep to recoup some of the monetary losses for the park is beyond me. There are plenty of parks that would be lucky to get that B&M for their park. -

WOW this coaster looks pretty amazing. Seems like it doesn't let up.......except for those 4 trims someone counted earlier. LOL j/j I wish there were a lot more coasters like this here in the US. Although that first drop doesnt look as steep as what we're seeing now with Outlaw Law Run and iRat, still looks like it could scare the bejeezus out of me. Loved the fast helix as well. -
^^ I totally agree. This coaster is nothing short of amazing. *Side note* I drove by SFFT last night before coming back to Phx and iRat now has individual fluorescent lights going up the lift hill similar to Goliath and SKC. Hope it'll have some nice orange lights shining up on it when it opens. Unfortunately I didn't see any testing this weekend as the Valero Texas Open was going in this weekend. Rattler and Roadrunner Express usually were the two coasters closed in the past whenever there was a golf tournament taking place due to the close proximity to one or two of the greens.

The lift is going at a decent pace. The slow down at the crest is to control that they don't more speed than it's engineered and designed to handle. If it crests and goes over with more momentum, it's going to gain more speed than it's supposed to. I'm sure we'll be seeing testing with different speeds until they get it just right.
